You just need to read or delete each one. After that, if you want to remove Visual Voicemail, root, then use titanium backup to uninstall the app. That will for sure get rid of the notification.

Hi all,
I replaced the ATT rom with HTC. It's been working great so far. I've been using it for about a week now. I do have one issue and not sure how to correct it. When I receive a voice mail I get a notification and normally I hit the dial button so it connects to my voicemail. However, today someone left me a voice mail and I dismiss the notification. I can see the message/voicemail icon in the bar at the top of the screen. However, I cannot click the icon. When I go to the "Messaging" option either by clicking the button on the phone or selecting "Messaging" from the Start menu, it just have the options for SMS/MMS, Email Sample and New Email account. There's no option for voice mail.
Is there someway to check the voicemail? I know I can dial the voicemail number and have access to it but it seems voicemail should be an option under "Messaging".
Please advice. And thank you in advance.
-Mike
So, after 1 week, you finally got a voice mail?
Kidding! Just poking fun!!!

I wish. I normally check right away when the notification is displayed.
Anyway, I ended up doing a soft reset and I was able to click on the Message icon in the menu bar.
Can't you just go to the phone dialer and hold down the 1 key? It should dial your voicemail for you. You can also go into settings/phone on the services tab you can select voice mail and text messages and see if the voicemail number is populated. I have never seen voice mail under messaging.

mcmex,
I just go to the dialpad. Totally forgot about that option. I thought there was an option under the messaging but I guess not. I'm good now.
Thanks.

Hi,
When I had the problem I did a soft reset on the phone and that seem to fix the problem. Now it works all the time. Give that a try.

IT'S BA-AAAACK!
The voicemail notification icon stays in the upper left and also cannot clear in pull down notification. The only way to clear it, is to go to the Phone App and Clear Data. However, it only last a few minutes. Also, I disabled the voicemail sound in the phone app settings but it does not stick. Ugh.
Stock, odexed, no root (yet) 4.4.1
Anyone else?

My first post says how to clear it. I'm trying a few different combinations of things to fix it permanently... Out at least up until a reboot.

Is there a way I can modify the phone application so that I can unchecked "show notifications?" I feel if I could do that I could stop the persistent voicemail notification on Sprint. Currently the option to unchecked it is greyed out.

Not 100% sure about this, but if you get a 3rd party visual voicemail app, wouldn't that override the Sprint voicemail notifications all together, and then you can simply use the Visual Voicemail App for your voicemails?

Yeah, I have tried this and have even called sprint and had them entirely disable my voicemail service and still that voicemail notification persists. I know its tied into the phone apk somehow and that there must be some line of code I can edit and push, but I have no idea what that might be or how to do it.
When I check my voice mail it says I have no messages. Yet that pesky notification stays up! Anyway I could download an app to be able to swipe it away? I haven't been able to find any.

You have to call your voice mail and delete the massage.
You cant turn it off with a setting, might be able to do something if you're rooted (I also find it annoying and never found a solution besides the one I offered you).
Just listen to the voicemail

There may be an issue. Even after deleting the voicemail and rebooting the phone, the voicemail notification remains. I think this was an problem with an older version of android too...
I find out a way to get rid of the constant vm notification. I cleared the data for the phone app. The notification disappeared immediately. I'll have to see what happens after I get another VM.
