Phantom Voicemail 4.4.1 - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

IT'S BA-AAAACK!
The voicemail notification icon stays in the upper left and also cannot clear in pull down notification. The only way to clear it, is to go to the Phone App and Clear Data. However, it only last a few minutes. Also, I disabled the voicemail sound in the phone app settings but it does not stick. Ugh.
Stock, odexed, no root (yet) 4.4.1
Anyone else?

I set up the N5 today for a friend and turned on GV integration for JUST voicemail. well he has a sprint voicemail notification on the phone and can't get rid of it. we set up the sprint voicemail (even though it's not used) and there are no voicemails.
any idea how to make the notification go away?

My first post says how to clear it. I'm trying a few different combinations of things to fix it permanently... Out at least up until a reboot.

Visual Voicemail - VM indicator

I notice with my phone after deleting VM via VVM app the new VM indicator notification will not clear without a soft reset. Anyone else experiencing this?
Its a bug in the verizon visual voicemail software.
Annoying to say the least.
This"Bug" only happens to the phone if your applied the txt message notification fix/cab. That icon bothered me mor than the txt msg sent notification so I went back to the standard settings on the phone. You can now click on the individual vm notifications and dismiss them. I assume you both have installed that cab. Maybe there is a way to get rid of the txt msg sent without messing with the other notification.

I assume your on a GB rom?
If you go into phone settings, call, then change voicemail to google voicemail they should start going away (that's if you want to use google voice). You can clear the current notification right under where you change to google vm. Hope this helps

adjust setting in phone app

Is there a way I can modify the phone application so that I can unchecked "show notifications?" I feel if I could do that I could stop the persistent voicemail notification on Sprint. Currently the option to unchecked it is greyed out.

Not 100% sure about this, but if you get a 3rd party visual voicemail app, wouldn't that override the Sprint voicemail notifications all together, and then you can simply use the Visual Voicemail App for your voicemails?

Yeah, I have tried this and have even called sprint and had them entirely disable my voicemail service and still that voicemail notification persists. I know its tied into the phone apk somehow and that there must be some line of code I can edit and push, but I have no idea what that might be or how to do it.

You have to call your voice mail and delete the massage.
You cant turn it off with a setting, might be able to do something if you're rooted (I also find it annoying and never found a solution besides the one I offered you).
Just listen to the voicemail

There may be an issue. Even after deleting the voicemail and rebooting the phone, the voicemail notification remains. I think this was an problem with an older version of android too...
I find out a way to get rid of the constant vm notification. I cleared the data for the phone app. The notification disappeared immediately. I'll have to see what happens after I get another VM.

Problem after VoLTE update

After receiving the update for VoLTE, my phone would go to voicemail after 2 or 3 rings. I went to call settings to adjust the number of rings in the Additional Settings section of the Call Settings. When actually tapping the button for Additional Settings, I get this error shown in the pic. Anyone else experience this?

Try and go to that when not on LTE. Those settings are Plain GSM settings I think. Which apply to edge and HSPA

It doesn't matter wherher or not LTE is off or on...
For good measure, I flashed the KK ROM and checked this settings and they are accessible. After the update, I can't access the settings at all. A call to at&t had them fix the short rings/almost immediately to voicemail problem I had initially.
Not being able to access the settings is not an issue now - I wanted to see of this is something anyone else has experienced.
