Hi all,
I replaced the ATT rom with HTC. It's been working great so far. I've been using it for about a week now. I do have one issue and not sure how to correct it. When I receive a voice mail I get a notification and normally I hit the dial button so it connects to my voicemail. However, today someone left me a voice mail and I dismiss the notification. I can see the message/voicemail icon in the bar at the top of the screen. However, I cannot click the icon. When I go to the "Messaging" option either by clicking the button on the phone or selecting "Messaging" from the Start menu, it just have the options for SMS/MMS, Email Sample and New Email account. There's no option for voice mail.
Is there someway to check the voicemail? I know I can dial the voicemail number and have access to it but it seems voicemail should be an option under "Messaging".
Please advice. And thank you in advance.
-Mike
So, after 1 week, you finally got a voice mail?
Kidding! Just poking fun!!!

I wish. I normally check right away when the notification is displayed.
Anyway, I ended up doing a soft reset and I was able to click on the Message icon in the menu bar.
Can't you just go to the phone dialer and hold down the 1 key? It should dial your voicemail for you. You can also go into settings/phone on the services tab you can select voice mail and text messages and see if the voicemail number is populated. I have never seen voice mail under messaging.

mcmex,
I just go to the dialpad. Totally forgot about that option. I thought there was an option under the messaging but I guess not. I'm good now.
Thanks.

Hi,
When I had the problem I did a soft reset on the phone and that seem to fix the problem. Now it works all the time. Give that a try.

I've flashed to ROMeOS and have everything working pretty well except that I do not get a notification when I receive a voicemail. Also, holding '1' doesn't dial my voicemail anymore. I have also installed THIS DIALER if it makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated.
Nevermind, further browsing led me to the answer that the problem is with the dialer. However, is there a cab that will show that there is new voicemail on the today screen, similiar to the way touchflo shows it?
there is no option like that in TF3D/M2D
voicemail is read a bit differently.
you can use other plug-ins like phonealarm to get voicemail notifications.
Facebook push notifications - I can't get them, is there a way to get them?
Lack of Visual Voicemail - I set up google voice but there is like 12 rings before it goes to voicemail. Is there a way to control the number of rings (preferably 4)
Facebook app - is it even worth it without push or should I use a shortcut to Facebook in browser.
Competing e-mail apps - I get notifications for my gmail and the e-mail client. Can I turn one off?

Perhaps these questions are in the wrong sub-forum?
Where should I post them or can I mod move this post to the appropriate thread?
Thanks,
JOe K.

1. I believe theres an AT&T code you enter with the dialpad to change the max # of rings. Try:
- On your phone, dial *#61# and click Send.
- Some information should be displayed: number that the calls are being forwarded to and the delay before the forwarding engages.
- Write down the number (including +1)
- Dial **61*+1xxxyyyzzzz*11*30# and hit Send. +1xxxyyyzzzz is the number you wrote down previously, 30 is the delay in seconds. The delay can be set in 5 second increments, 30 is maximum
- Dial *#61# to verify that the new settings are active.
2. Use tweetdeck for FB, has notifications
3. go to the app's settings, notifications, and unselect sync data
Why set up both email apps for the same email account? That makes no sense.

Number 3 is incorrect in regards to sync data. If you turn that off, you won't get push email for gmail.
You can turn notifications off per application - settings-> notifications. uncheck.
I guess Sync Data was a typo.

set myself up for that one.
Yea sorry. Couldn't help it.
Read that you can change it online our have to call ATT for the ring issue.
Face book blows for the android... Updates rarely push correctly.
With my phone using Cognition, because it just runs better.

It was me just being lazy to see what the selection was, because there is no selection for "sync data" anyways
I haven't figured out a facebook solution yet.
Those google voice instructions you posted worked great. I was able to set my rings to 4 by using the 15 second rule. I'm stoked on setting up a number of different voicemail messages for varying groups.
For GMail, I just turned notifications off.

Hello. I just received my Galaxy S 4G today and I was wondering if there is some way for me to send certain contacts directly to voicemail like I could on my previous phones? I've looked all around and couldn't find it.
Possibly a great app if it's not available?
Thanks for the help everyone.
_edit_ for the record I tried this:
From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
Tap Settings.
Tap Call settings.
Tap All calls.
Tap Auto reject.
Tap Auto reject list.
Tap Add number.
Enter desired number.
Tap Save.
but that doesn't send the calls to voicemail, and then it shows that I missed 12 calls from that specific number at one time. It's crazy. I need it to go to voicemail specifically. Thanks.
On any given contact if you bring up the menu, you'll see the option to add to ignore list. However, I have other issues. I have 5 contacts called Spam, and between them there are more than 100 numbers. After adding the third contact to the ignore list, I got a message saying that I had crossed 100 limit and that I must delete some entries to make space. This is annoying. I wish someone figures a way to send a contact straight to voicemail.
Ah miui allows u to black.list calls n send them to. Voicemail

EDIT: "maybe some of them can kick directly to vm" is what I left out.
Earlier today a small blue Forwarding call icon got stuck in the notification bar on my NS. I haven't set up any call forwarding so not sure how the icon got there. The calls coming in are not forwarded. The icon is also there when pulling down the notification bar, and it says "Forwarding all calls" but clearly it isn't.
I use the SuperOSR rom and tried restoring a backup but the icon is still there.
Can anybody help to provide some info as to what could cause this? I've tried googling but haven't been able to find an answer. Thanks.
Edit: figured out that by actually setting up call forwarding and then disabling it made the icon disappear from the notification bar. Still have no clue as to why it appeared when no call forwarding was set up. Must be a minor bug.

Thanks a lot for this! It had been driving me crazy for days. I went to 3 and they had no solution. I was prepared to change my number because changing the SIM card had no effect.

Thank you so much. I've had this problem for ages. Even after a full /system wipe it would come back eventually.
Now I know how to fix it.
Much love!

Take another phone and call yourself and leave a message. Then take your phone, reboot, listen to the message and erase it.
Any differences

Just received the latest update today on stock TB. Seems to run ok (so far), but the persistent voice mail icon and notification problem is back. This was a problem prior to last update. The icon and notification displays that you have a voice mail even though you don't and no way to get rid of them that I know of. Kind of a downer. Anyone else seeing this?
This is the only problem I've seen so far.
Haven't had that issue yet. Ringtones work and notifications volume are fixed.
Edit: Called myself and left voice mail. Went to notifications pull down and called voice mail there by pressing on the voice mail notification. After hanging up voice mail notification icon was gone from status bar only missed call icon remained. Pressed on missed call and that icon in the status bar was gone. Seems to work for me I don't know how you went about getting your voice mail but this method worked for me. I even used the 86,xxxx to put in my password and that worked.
The lingering voice mail icon in notification area and message magically corrected itself after first incoming call with voice mail. No other problems...so far. Great phone!
fwiw...
Also ordered a Rezound battery from Verizon (on sale $19), which fits the Tbolt, for a few more milliamp hrs.
