THIS RECOVERY WILL TRIP YOUR KNOX COUNTER ..AND UR WARRANTY WILL BE VOID
THIS RECOVERY IS ONLY FOR THE 3G VARIANT (g900H) RUNNING LOLLIPOP and kitkat( thanks to YMatrix for confirming )
BASEBAND used :g900hhxxu1boad
Why CWM ? Why not a pre-rooted firmware which will not void warranty?
Ans : CWM has many more functionality than stock recovery ! Rooting means to playing around with your device. If some thing goes wrong it you have to flash the whole firmware again instead, backup your ROM through CWM and if something goes wrong restore your backup AS SIMPLE AS THAT !
All you have to do is follow my instructions :
STEP 1 :
-Download and setup ADB drivers for your device
can be found here Drivers !
STEP 2 :
-Download the recovery from ---> Link
-Download odin 3 Link
-Turn of your device and go to odin mode [ Vol down + power + home button (all at the same time) ] release it when you see s5 logo
-Press vol up to confirm
STEP 3 :
-Now that you are in odin mode connect your device via usb cable !
-Now open Odin3 3.09 that you have downloaded.
-If there is a pop-up like Installing ADB drivers let it get finished it is usually updates !!!!
-Make sure the COM : xx (xx is usb port number it can be any number so dont worry about it,just verify COM is lit up)
-Select the recovery (Link in STEP 2) ! Now select AP and browse to where you have .tar file and select it
MAKE SURE U UNTICK THE AUTO-REBOOT BUTTON
-Click Start
ONCE IT SAYS PASS ...REMOVE THE BATTERY ...THEN RE-INSERT THE BATTERY AND BOOT INTO RECOVERY USING VOL UP + HOME + POWER BUTTON
HOW TO ROOT THE DEVICE :
-Download SuperSu (obviously the latest one) from here ------> Click here !
-Copy that to internal sd card
-Power off your device and press vol up + power + home button (all at once)
-Select install zip from sdcard --->choose zip from sdcard ---> scroll down and flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.xx.zip
Done ! And you are ready to go

@RVR it seems that your custom recovery doesnt have option ''install from sd'' or internal..
it has only
reboot system
apply data
wipe data/factory reset/
wipe cache partition
wipe media
reboot to bootloader
power down
view recovery logs
so proably have u forgotten to add it (?)

Great to see some work on the G900H! :victory:
Why did you say that this recovery is only for the LP firmware? Doesn't recovery work globally on all firmwares? Will it work on KK?
Does this recovery support external SD card?
Keep up the good work! :good:

It does support the external sd card
This recovery was built on the lollipop recovery image ,., I'm not really sure whether it can be flashed in the kitkat version .. You can surely give it a try !

Thanks for your quick reply!
I checked it out, it works like a charm (I am running on KK), including external SD card, though I didn't try to install anything...
Maybe I didn't find the sub-menu but where is the backup option? Or you haven't implemented it yet?

When you say "Go to CWM" how do I do that exactly? Same with clearing the data/cache/dalvik?
Open up rom manager and select second option reboot into recovery. and there will be options in cwm about clearing data/cache and under advance you can clear dalvik.

Thanks! And when you install the add ones for the ICS, is it just the APKs that you need to put on your SD?
depends if its apk than you can install it regularly and if its .zip file you have to flash it through cwm. IT will say by file if its cwm flash able or apk. By the way you must be topped out on ur thanx rite haha cauz i don't see any.

[Q]

So I realize I did something stupid and I'm hoping I can fix it. I was in the process of rooting and installing a new ROM on my brothers phone. I made it S-off, and I didn't want clockwork recovery so I just skipped that. I updated the firmware so I can put an ICS ROM on it and now it's stuck in a bootloop I would imagine because there is no recovery on there. Can I fix this somehow? How do I install a Recovery when I don't have a recovery?
Thanks

you can install recovery from bootloader/fastboot and then rom from the recovery
here follow the post #2 from this guide to do that
What about download mode aka odin mode

download mode is not required for HTC phones.. we can flash stuff from bootloader
to go to bootloader
power off phone then remove battery ,reinsert it ..then hold power + volume down button ..will take you to bootloader ..there you can flash the recovery ..and a lot

Just need to flash a recovery; preferably 4ext. (only step 2 from this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25587345)
Then nandroid backup from recovery (main menu of 4ext > Backup | Restore > Backup)
Then put an ICS ROM on SD Card using the Toggle USB Storage" option (main menu of 4ext > Toggle USB Storage)
Then format all partitions except SD Card from recovery (main menu of 4ext > Format | Wipe > Format all partitions (except SD Card) )
Then flash the ICS ROM from the recovery (main menu of 4ext > Install zip > Choose zip from SD Card).
Simple as that.

My galaxy SL i9003 die wont boot.... any more

can any one see the picture at all??? because i cant ....
ok well now the phone is pretty much got stuck at the firmware screen as show in the picture...it got stuck like this after i install it with oldin
and when i choose install from zip my first choice is REMICS-I9003-V1.5 second is I9003XXKPE both wont install... it will just abort...after few second...
i have no idea what i have done totally new to this just dont want to paid local phone shop 50$ usd just to root it so try it my self
not sure what went wrong im a bit confuse with how to use oldin so maybe that the problem i saw there is PIT bootloader PDA phone and CSC...
not sure what to put
so at pit i uselatona 20110114.pit downloaded from XDA link
and PDA i use CM9 ALPHA8 GT I9003 PDA
that all i know...oh crap...
so, im a bit confused of your statement that you cant boot your phone. if what you mean is the two parts in the right side of your screenshot then that is the recovery mode. but if you mean that you cant boot and your phone is stuck in the boot logo or in the boot animation you are somehow in bootloop but we still could fix it.
ok, so could you enter even just in download mode (Volume down key + home key + power button) so we could try to flash a fresh rom so as to solve your issues? sorry i cant tell u immediately step by step solutions, im a bit confused with ur statements. hehe
note:
if you are confused with odin read first (there are posts here with instructions, hehe) before you start installing files with it, you dont want to get a bricked phone.
cheers buddy, and waiting for ur reply

Step by step
1. Do Nandroid backup
2. Do a factory reset/data wipe (of course you can try to install the ROM over other ICS roms)
4. Install the ROM
5. Reboot (automatically)
6. Wait till full boot of your phone
Note: Do not Format Data after the installation of ROM. Just wipe cache and dalvik cache!!

Step 1 means, go to cwm recovery menu and make a backup of current firmware
Step 2 wants to make sure there is no old data left that would give you errors. If you're on a stock firmware, make sure you do this, again from cwm recovery menu.
Step 3 is missing or maybe removed as it was irrelevent.
Step 4 .. you need to copy remics zip file to your sd card first. Then reboot to cwm recovery menu .. select install zip file from sdcard ... select zip file that you copied to sdcard.
After it install, go to advanced and reboot to recovery .. then clean wipe ... then go to advanced again and do a dalvik wipe.
Then reboot and Enjoy fingers-crossed
=========
To go to cwm recovery power off your device and reboot using “Volume Down + Home Key + Power Key" combination.
i think ur internal memory may be corrupted so if u r under warrranty flash any stock rom and take it to the service centre so if really it its internal memory is corrupted they will replace the motherboard if u r under warranty.

The best thing to do is to do a complete firmware flash.
1. XXKPE+LATONA.PIT (If this goes thru without any problem, then luck is on your side.)
2. Flash any latest GB firmware for your region.
3. Now flash the cfroot to get into recovery.

I understand you got to xxxkpe ... did you boot your phone and it works fine?
If yes, as per ganeshbiyer's post above, you need to flash latest firmware for your region. If not sure, go for ddlf2, as it is very stable.
Once you flash that, usng odin, and phone works well, you need to root by flashing it's cf-root.
Once you do that and you can get into CWM recovery, it would be time for you to flash REMICS or CM9.

Once ROM'd this cannot be reversed back to ICS. I used Odin to re-flash the ROM to get the SGN to reboot properly. Its fully functional again:fingers-crossed:.

Performing the Root
1-Have a micro SD card external memory and copy it to the file Philz Kernel 2.7. He will be key to your handset to work in step 7. Save it to a folder that starts with the letter A to be located more quickly (hint staff);
*
2-Download the Odin 3 v 1.87, unzip and run it. Now go to PDA and locate the file Kernel v5.3 GL Hydracore STD that you've already downloaded. Do not touch any other option Odin PC. Leave everything exactly as it is!
*
3-Turn off your phone (and make sure you have at least 80% battery charge);
*
4-Hold the Power + Home button + volume down to get into Download Mode / Odin Mode. Press the volume up and you're ready to install Kernel v5.3 GL Hydracore STD;
*
5-Connect your device to your computer using the USB cable. (WARNING! If your computer does not recognize your device, download and install Samsung Kies on your computer and then connect your device to have the drivers installed);
*
6-Once the ODIN PC indicate recognition of your device, click Start and NOT UNPLUG YOUR PHONE NO WAY! AVOID USING THE COMPUTER UNTIL THE INSTALLATION WAS DONE;
*
7-Wait for the device to restart. Probably he can not leave the home screen. Do not worry. Turn it off and remove the battery for 1 minute. For some reason I can not explain the GL Hydracore, even v7 is not working on Galaxy Note with Android 4.1.1 stock;
*
8-Now replace the battery and get into Clockworkmod (simultaneously press the Power + Home + Volume Up) and go to "Instal Zip from SD Card" and then "Chose External Zip from SD Card" and select the file Kernel Philz 2.7 CWM you downloaded and saved on your micro SD card. Select it and choose "yes" (Thanks to Junior Lima to discover that step tutorial)
*
8-Wait for the device to restart. Ready to Root and Clockworkmod device.
*
With this procedure you will increase the binary counter and get a yellow triangle every time you start your machine. Do not worry. Download the app Triangle Away v 2.10 and run it.
*
Okay, your system will be as an officer again.

Where did you get this process? I'd rather spend the Odin PDA KERNEL HYDRACORE life .... CWM then passes via the Kernel-PhilZ cwm6 ... was so I could do on my phone!!
Hydracore Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749863 (V7 may be the same)
Kenel PhilZ-cwm6: http://205.196.121.32/yldwgfctn3vg/c114d2yobdvhyl4/PhilZ-cwm6-XXLS2-XJB-2.7-signed.zip
Running Wipe data factory / wipe cache / wipe dalvik after each flash
Triangle Away .... to remove triangle and binary counter ... (can be found in Google Apps)
has nothing to err .... hug

I had to use Odin to flash the Philz-cwm6-xxls-x2JB-2.7.tar file as it would not reboot after flashing hydracore. But the root was made with Super SU appearing in the apps drawer.
The second strange thing was no CWM recovery was installed, I had to get it from the play store and use the app to flash CWM.
But it's rooted now.
The next issue seems to be the Supernexus ROM from Faryaab, as it seems to have Build Prop issues.
A luta continua...
One question.
I do not understand the need to flash Hydracore.
Is it not possible to just flash Philz directly from stock recovery?
I understand correclty Phils has both CWM and root.
correct?
thanks

I've compared the buildprop files of both ROMS, does anyone know what has to be edited out of the buildprop file of the JB rom to allow installation of the SuperNexus ROM?
Perhaps the Samsung hidden attribs?

Me did not work so ... I had to spend the first kernel of Hydracore .... the more strange, is that after flashing the Kernel Hydracore, the device will not turn over ... it shows the screen with the name of N7000 and turn it off ... it will not start. Only after passing the kernel PhilZ the device connects. I can not understand why, but if anyone knows, feel free to tell us .... thanks!!

I achieved root in the same way, but could not boot into CWM after installing Hydarcore, I used Odin to flash Philz, after flashing Hydracore. The only remaining issue is to install the custom ROM SuperNexus from Faryaab, I keep getting build prop errors.
I've tried modding the Faryaab buildprop to almost the same as the Sammy XXLS2 and I still have not achieved it...
Anyone have any ideas?
Could this help?

as we know, phone will flash the rec failed if you select reboot button directly while flash the TWRP.rar though ODIN .
mostly rebooting into rec is still officials,.
so somebody flash it no select reboot , in that way ,we can flashed it successly by manually reboot after a few secs or more than ten secs,
i don't know why but it can be completed.
after that, we can flash su.zip as same as a rom.
i do not know what is your problem ,
forgiving my poor English and i try to describe what I mean clear。
i ll tell you what i know : )
PS:in china ,we use the CWM rec more time than TWRP
