[Q] Help needed downgrading XT1032 GPE 5.0.1 converted - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey. I have searched a lot of find to find answers for this but have been unsuccessful so far. I am hoping somebody here might be able to help me.
I have an xt1032 which i have converted and upgraded to 5.0.1.
I want to downgrade it back to the UK Kitkat 4.4.4. I downloaded the firmware and flashed the partitions expect in gpt.bin and motoboot in order but the phone keeps stuck at the boot logo.
Cyanogenmod doesnt install either. I have tried several recoveries but no use.
Can somebody help me downgrade back to the original XT1032 UK firmware? :crying:

Help in on this thread.

Yo!
Check out this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/how-to-koodo-telus-downgrade-upgrade-lp-t3042110
and follow the instructions word for word.
You will however need to flash the firmware of the UK XT1032 which can be downloaded from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
Al the commands work just make sure you use mfastboot, like the tutorial thread says. There's more help there if you need it, I did this 3 nights ago and it went swimmingly with this guide so you should have no problems. Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I'm just scared of flashing motoboot and gpt bricking my phone. But if it worked for you, i hope it does for me too. Thanks again.

Also, does this method solve the screen ripple effect after the downgrade to KitKat?

When running Kitkat the ripple is still there but if you turn the screen off and on again it'll go away. If you then OTA to 5.0.2 there's no rippling whatsoever .
P.S. for the flashing of motoboot it is paramount that you use fastboot. I'd have a gander at the comments in the first thread I linked you the details are there.

Downgrade to 4.4.3? Or Another way to fix GPS?

Hello!
I am looking to restore my Moto G 4G (xt1045) to stock, because after rooting and installing a custom ROM, I am having GPS issues. I did not realize that there was no 4.4.4 factory image!
So now I am trying to figure out how to get my GPS working again. Is there a way to downgrade to 4.4.3? I've been reading there is an error when downgrading. Or can someone provide a modem image from the 4.4.4 stock rom so those of us with this issue can flash it using the method mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/guide-fix-gps-custom-rom-backup-special-t2909768
Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

[Q] [HELP][QHSUSB_BULK] Moto G HARD BRICKED

Okay so i was running the brazil retail xt1033 stock rom and i eventually got the Lollipop upgrade.I tried rooting the lollipop rom using cf auto root and this resulted in the bricking of my phone. So i flashed GPE rom which was the only one which seemed to be working on the phone and when i was applying OTA 4.4.4 the phone got lhard bricked.pa
I tried this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2623587
and also i tried the MotoFlasher tool
and i got and error saying "error reading packet"
I figured the problem is that These two methods are for moto g only up to 4.4.4 and i think my bootloader was matching the lollipop version so Right now there is nothing i can do,if someone knows how to fix this pls let me know ASAP.

No.
There is still no official Motorola 5.0 ROM at all, thus no leaked factory images, thus no chance to find the mbm folder and it's contents eventually.
It will take at least 2-3 months more.

yes, but this is the update that update the bootloader; so, why there isn't the folder or the image of bootloader?
I thougth, if the bootloader becomes corrupt after the downgade to KK from OTA update to Lollipop, there is a way to retrive the files of MBM

Probably not, since the GPe edition has the lollipop more than 1 months so far and the last time, when we switched to kitkat they published the image just in a month. And motorola also published it 20 days after the official update. So keep up, be patient and wait.

GPE is totally non-related.This time we've got a major update that it seems takes time for Motorola to debug.and get it stable for Release. That's probably why we didn't get the motorola update by now, mid of January.
Actually what you`re saying is that once we get the official OTA, we`ll have factory images the next week - NOPE, not at all.Make it at least a month after that moment, if lucky. Also even if factory images get out, its not certain that we`ll get service image leaked anytime soon.... are you getting it now ?

[Q] How to get lollipop?

Hi,
I have US purchased Moto Gs, have latest 'Motorola Update Services' installed and tried hundred times to check for update in Settings > About but I'm done waiting now, where can I get the latest version to flash and any guide?
Thanks
What is your model number? Need some basic info to help you out.
XT1032
I think I need Brazailian 5.0.2 ROM? I want to be on stock (lollipop recovery, lollipop bootloader, lollipop radio etc..) so I can recieve future updates. A simple guide would be helpful.
Here's a guide for GPE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/gpe-ota-lrx21z-5-0-1-xt1033-xt1032-t2969847
Here's a guide for Brazilian: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/android-5-0-2-factory-imagebr-t3023020

How do I know if mine is GPE or not?
Thanks
Where did you get the phone? Was it factory unlocked? What ROM is currently on the phone?
Ok got it. I purchased from Amazon so its not GPE.
The above mentioned guide is for completely stock? With stock bootloader, recovery, radio and everything? And will allow me to get OTA updates?
Thanks
I don't know about OTA updates since you'll be flashing a non-US ROM onto your US phone.
You should unlock your bootloader before proceeding so you can flash back if there is a problem.
This cross-flashing business can get quite complicated and you need to remember that any flashing of ROMs can result in a bricked phone.

[Q] Moto G Telus/Koodo, screwed up 5.0.2 update : please help..!

Hello Android gurus
I tried to find the answer to my problem in the other threads, but I'm still not 100% sure if I should proceed.
. I had rooted xt1032 moto g prior to 5.0.2 OTA that came out yesterday.
I used full unroot with supersu prior to applying the OTA thinking it would be ok. I guess I screwed up, my phone is soft bricked.
I can get in stock recovery but otherwise it is on boot loop and ends up with 'no command'.
I have the moving line problem on the bootloader white screen which seems to imply a diferent version of kernel and bootloader, (which I do not full understand)
.. Which makes we wonder if it is unsafe to flash the stock rom 4.4.4 image of my phone.
And if it is safe, will I be able to update via OTA after that?
What are my options? Thanks in advance!
The moving line issue is probably due to the fact that you have the 41.18 bootloader on your phone.
I also have a Koodo xt1032 with the 41.18 bootloader and was able to flash back to stock Telus 4.4.4. Do not flash stock 4.4.2 as other XDA members have said that flashing 4.4.2 would brick your phone.
I'm checking for OTA updates but I keep getting the message that my phone's software is up to date.

Unlocked G3 D850, no OTA update?

EDIT:
What files do I need from storagecow link in the OP to do a 100% proper flash? The .zip only contains boot.img and system.img but I've heard you need the modem file as well?
There's others on storagecow like patched20fboot.img? rpm.img? tz.img? Should I grab all the files and put them in a zip and then flash? Or should I flash them one by one in a certain order?
I GREATLY appreciate any help. Please note I'm only after official LG firmware, no cyanogenmod or anything.

Hiya. Brand new to XDA forums so I apologize if this has been mentioned before.
I'm gonna make this as quick as I can. I bought an unlocked LG G3 from ebay
Opened it up and turned it on, first thing I did was check for firmware updates because it was still on KitKat. Nothing for some reason. (if you know why please answer in your response)
I'm new to rooting/flashing firmware but I did my best at researching on how to flash it to Lollipop which I successfully did but I had a few small problems afterwards.
Google Chrome refused to update no matter what I tried, taking screenshots wouldn't work and I couldn't delete the firmware files on the internal storage. So I ended up reverting back to the stock KitKat room, unrooted with no TWRP.
This phone is gift to someone so I'd like it to be in perfect working order, but I would like it to run stock LG Lollipop as well as Marshmallow when it comes out soon.
First question is, is there a way to update the firmware with an official LG software or do I have to flash it? I've heard when you're 2 firmwares behind OTA no longer works.
If not, what files do I need from storagecow (I can't post the link cus I'm new) to do a proper flash? The .zip only contains boot.img and system.img but I've heard you need the modem file as well?
I GREATLY appreciate any help. Please note I'm only after official LG firmware, no cyanogenmod or anything.

You'll have to root, and use a custom stock rom. It'll only OTA update if you insert an active AT&T sim.
