Hi to everyone. i'm not a developer, just daily user but i like to flash roms to my phone. i have a htc one s villeC2 and its very sad this phone have a very potential and official just have 4.1.1 and nobody develop for this phone!!!! is just like the Ville but a different processor, so i don't know what happens. i really like to be a lollipop betatester but my doubt is if this is not possible port lollipop from AOSP or Cyanogenmod to this phone o just be a abandoned phone . I read a lot and i found a kernel for Snapdragon S3 here codeaurora.org/projects/all-active-projects/snapdragon-developer-platform and another kernel here github.com/bilalliberty. i don't know if this kernel works on lollipop. i just know the basic to compile roms. so for that I do not do this alone and i come here to speak to you, the master of this . i don't know if the HBOOT need to be compatible with lollipop o this not care. So.. finally I just want to know if is possible lollipop for VilleC2. Please appreciate your response my question and this is all thanks for read and response. My phone, Gt-S7500L (galaxy ace plus) isn't so famous among the Android owners, so there are many custom roms. We dont have Cyanogemmod, and its is a sad thing, but im actually trying to port it from the galaxy ace throught the android kitchen. I m afraid of bricking my phone, so my question is if i use the STOCK kernel in the custom ROM that i'm porting, is there any chance of HARD brick(softbrick isnt a real problem,i backuped the OS)? I know! Custom rom without custom kernel may dont make sense, beu we, ace plus owners, are desperate.

bricked= bootloader corrupted if you don't touch bootloader nothing happens
maybe you think about a hardware failure ..this is possible when porting a rom
to port a rom is not about copy/paste files from somewhere if you see kitchen has "experimental support" for porting it can help you to "put things together" I mean to root that rom and add some features then pack in a flashable .zip format but you need a rom for that ! kitchen can help you to port in the case you get Cyanogenmod sources for a device that is almost the same as hardware specs with yours

Without having any (ROM) development skills I have tried to copy/port/compile a Android 4.4 ROM myself. I did not succeed but in the process I have learned a lot in general about ROM development. I'm not aspiring to be a ROM developer, but at this moment I am eager to know what exactly are the bottlenecks in creating a 4.3 or 4.4 ROM.
I have copied, dissected and altered the work of the guys who have 4.4 (partially) running on HTC Desire HD and HTC Incredible S. To my knowledge these devices have a lot in common (for the most part) and, in my mind, should work on SAGA with some tweaks (ACE -> SAGA / VIVO -> SAGA). Replacing text is off course a simplification, but hey, besides the camera, it is almost the same hardware. I guess there is more to it, because I tried several times, but did not get it to work.
I do not expect to solve these issues, but I wonder what holds the (stable) development of a 4.3 or 4.4 ROM. Outdated source code of drivers or kernel or ....
I was thinking of contacting some of the DEVS who are working on the 4.4 ACE and VIVO ports, but I hope someone on this forum can enlighten me.

Ace and Vivo are indeed closest models to saga and very similar,..when ported to saga,
the roms seems ussualy faster,lighter,cleaner, much less bugy than those, ported (especially directly) from other devices,
.. What- most possibly holds the development for this device is the kernel (or its absence)-as often,..
very likely,-when there was a possibility to boot the port, without jumping also, to self porting/modding its kernel,
we would have seen yet quite a few stable KitKat ports,..
Kernel devs for desire s were briliant- but never many,
now, only @kylon remains active- pardon me if i`m not correct ,,

Actually, I thought of trying to port Non Intrusive call for miui.
But miui till now for Galaxy s3 i9300 is only upto 4.2.2.
And non intrusive call omni sources are based on 4.4.x
So can anyone please giude me to sources for 4.2.2 (if present).
Dont know if this question really belongs here since its so noobish but decided to ask it anyway...
Else I will have to wait till miui updates its base to 4.4.
Or is there any alternative method?
PS-> I have just started learning these things and not so expert to be called a true "developer"...

There is no 4.4 for galaxy core...only modified stock ROMs.not even 4.2
Cm11 have lot of bugs.
It's a LOT of work.
The drivers for Galaxy Core hardware don't even exist in the newer kernels anymore.
If so many guys want it done by some, at least part time, consider pooling your money.
Asking nicely does nothing, as it's hard, specialized, intellectual work, and not a day of it at that.

Even If a CM 11 or 12 (Other users are started to test CM 14) and Core doesn't even have any Stable CM10?
