[Q] Obstruction in 4.3, 4.4 and 4.x development - HTC Desire S

Hi,
Without having any (ROM) development skills I have tried to copy/port/compile a Android 4.4 ROM myself. I did not succeed but in the process I have learned a lot in general about ROM development. I'm not aspiring to be a ROM developer, but at this moment I am eager to know what exactly are the bottlenecks in creating a 4.3 or 4.4 ROM.
I have copied, dissected and altered the work of the guys who have 4.4 (partially) running on HTC Desire HD and HTC Incredible S. To my knowledge these devices have a lot in common (for the most part) and, in my mind, should work on SAGA with some tweaks (ACE -> SAGA / VIVO -> SAGA). Replacing text is off course a simplification, but hey, besides the camera, it is almost the same hardware. I guess there is more to it, because I tried several times, but did not get it to work.
I do not expect to solve these issues, but I wonder what holds the (stable) development of a 4.3 or 4.4 ROM. Outdated source code of drivers or kernel or ....
I was thinking of contacting some of the DEVS who are working on the 4.4 ACE and VIVO ports, but I hope someone on this forum can enlighten me.
Regards,
Michael

Ace and Vivo are indeed closest models to saga and very similar,..when ported to saga,
the roms seems ussualy faster, lighter, cleaner, much less bugy than those, ported (especially directly) from other devices,
.. What- most possibly holds the development for this device is the kernel (or its absence)-as often,..
very likely,-when there was a possibility to boot the port, without jumping also, to self porting/modding its kernel,
we would have seen yet quite a few stable KitKat ports,..
Kernel devs for desire s were briliant- but never many,
now, only @kylon remains active- pardon me if i`m not correct ,,

Will Desire S to have custom ICS with sense 4.0 ROM?

I came across this site. http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/02/htc-sensation-puts-on-a-white-ice-coat-to-match-its-ice-cream-sa/
and it seems like the sensation will have an OTA update to ICS with sense 4.0. So, does that means that we will have a custom ROM base on that ROM? That will be awesome. Discuss.
UPDATE: ok, now I have a few questions for the developer. Since there are already so many ROMs on ICS with sense 3.6, but why there are non for our desire s ? Take a look at this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419278... there are more at sensation forum. Is it because of the drivers or hardware related? I'm not quite familiar with all these developing stuffs, so maybe the experts out there would enlighten to me? Thanks.
Firstly I am no developer but I think I can say some things about what you said. Yes it is hardware related like all linux based OS android has a kernel and the kernel is mostly written for a device specific hardware. And sensation and saga in that respect is no match so no part of it could be used in ours. And also there might be a need of lot kernel tweaks and for that rom to work. The derivative of sensation , sensation xl in retrospect is whole lot similar to our device so if a leaked rom is released for that one then I am sure devs will be able to do the things you wished. On top of kernel device specific hardware driver and all that the sense version as always by htc is a very special one as i understand cause its a whole lot different than any other rom. Looking through posts you might have seen sense kernels and aosp ones are different. So in the end to port that rom it will need a kernel drivers and all plus the effort to crack the sense overlay that htc slaps on anything too...
It might be not possible my heart strongly wishes for an ICS official rom as that would ease up a lot of things.
The HTC Desire S has a different screen, so the one leaked sense 3.6 (4.0) could only be ported to devices sporting the same screen. Be patient, HTC anounced that the Desire S will get ICS with Sense l8er in 2012. I'm sure the XDAdevs will be faster though....

[Q] How do I get android 4.4 on blu studio 5.5

Today I read on some post found on a g+ page that the studio, and some other Blu lines, are getting kitkat on May 1st, 2014. No ROMs anywhere around that I can find for this device, just sites that are scam sites trying to infect you. Was hoping CyanogenMod, aokp, or paranoid android would have a ROM available, but nope.
I'm actually trying to build my own ROM for the Blu Studio 5.0S (my family all have the same phone now, and I previously had us on Concur One, but there's so much bloatware in there that isn't neccessary it's absurd -- these things have 1GB of RAM, and yet we have less than 1/3 of that to work with once the phone has been running for a few hours, not to mention that they dressed it up as 4.3.1 when it isn't..).
I've actually tried assembling 4.3.1_r1 manually from AOSP and loading the drivers in -- it causes a bootloop. As far as I can tell, nothing beyond 4.1.2 works on these devices thusfar (though I'd love to be proven wrong); all the ROMs that look like they're 4.2 or 4.3 aren't; they just edited the build.prop and other values so it reported being 4.3.1, and looked like it, but wasn't actually. Bit annoying actually.
I've not tried KitKat yet, as I can't seem to build it in any form, and I don't much like the idea of porting another ROM; I'd honestly rather maintain my own for my family based off the Karbonn S5 Stock ROM.
If Karbonn/BLU does come out with a KitKat stock though, I'd love to know that, and I'll likely be watching for it & will share it if I come across something working, would be awesome to build off that instead for my ROM.

[Q] Question Android 4.4

Hi, look I'm new in this page and I have a Samsung Galaxy Core I8260, and I want to know how to install the Android 4.4 version?
I was looking for doing with cyanogenmod, can anyone help me please??:angel:
THANKS!!
There is no 4.4 for galaxy core...only modified stock ROMs.not even 4.2
Cm11 have lot of bugs.
It's a LOT of work.
The drivers for Galaxy Core hardware don't even exist in the newer kernels anymore.
If so many guys want it done by some, at least part time, consider pooling your money.
Asking nicely does nothing, as it's hard, specialized, intellectual work, and not a day of it at that.

Can someone make a pure android 6.x ROM build for the 8013?

My 8013 tablet is rooted and on 4.1.2. It needs to be updated because it is losing functionality since it's so far behind current Android. All the more recent ROMs I have found all list major bugs or aren't even stable. So, I would like to just put pure android on it (like 6.something), because I assume that would not have bugs since I'm not asking for custom tweaks. But I do not have the skill to do that by myself. I have been reading the XDA University guide to building android from the source, but I know nothing about coding and this guide is not the simple "follow the steps" like ROM flashing and rooting is. I don't know how to do the things it needs or how to find the stuff it wants. Can someone help with this/do it for me?

Would there be any hope for getting Android Jellybean or KitKat on this old Samsung from 2012? (Samsung Galaxy Discover)

I have a Samsung Galaxy Discover, it's my old childhood phone and for the memories, I want to make it as usable as I can now, however I basically can't do anything internet related with it as it runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich (which I will be shortening to ICS for the rest of this post), ICS has certificate issues which you can't do anything about, to use anything internet related you need Jellybean (also has certificate issues but not as bad as ICS and they can be updated unlike ICS) or KitKat (has all modern certificates), however the Discover only has ICS ROMs, there was a Jellybean ROM at one point however the link is dead and I can't find an archive of it. I know it's possible to get Jellybean and KitKat on the Discover because the Galaxy Ace Plus has both Jellybean and KitKat ROMs, and the Ace Plus and Discover are basically the same phone, and I did spend a bit of time trying to port a CyanogenMod 10 ROM for the Ace Plus to the Discover, but I'm just too inexperienced with ROM porting and making ROMs and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, so after I ran into an issue I couldn't find any details about on Google, I just gave up and went back to ICS.
If anyone could explain how to make a ROM (whether it be making my own ROM from scratch or porting an already existing ROM like CyanogenMod) for the Discover or even make a ROM for me, I'd be super thankful, preferably I want Jellybean as this is a super cheap phone and I don't think KitKat will run very well on it, however if KitKat is easier to get running I'll do KitKat. The exact model number of the phone is SGH-S730M. I have access to computers running macOS, Windows and Linux. (figured that'll be helpful to know if I need to make a ROM)
How do I create a custom rom?
Hey! So I was so happy with my phone, a Huawei mate 20 lite, that has been obsolete cuz it's old. I unlocked it's bootloader, and I will install TWRP for it, but there's no custom roms like pixel experience or Lineageos for it, so I decided to...

That page doesn't help. The first guide linked there requires you getting the device tree, vendor, and kernel from GitHub, and since the Discover is an obscure device, I highly doubt any of that stuff is on GitHub, I'd have to pull it from a pre-existing ICS ROM or something (but idk how to do that), and on the second page linked there I don't see any sort of guide.
