You need a Quickboot.apk as a system app.
There is no point anyways, as it is not really "quickboot".
When enabled, instead of shutting down, it just puts the phone on airplane mode, turns the screen off and blocks every single wake. When you "turn it back on" it just turns off airplane mode, wakes it back up and plays the bootanimation for 2 seconds.

Hmm.. Ok, so how can i get quickboot to work on my phone?

app to turn screen on at certain time??

Does anyone know of an app that will turn my tablet screen on at a programmed time?
I have my tablet next to my bedside in a stand and I have an app that turns the screen off at 11pm.
My alarm app that goes off M-F at 6:25 turns my screen on for the alarm, etc, but on Sat/Sun, I don't use the alarm so I'd like something that just turns the screen on (no alarm) for those two mornings without me having to touch the tablet. I have searched high and low and there are tons of screen wake/on apps on Google play, but none of them do the one thing I want an app to do, which is to turn on the screen at a programmed time!
Has anyone seen anything like this anywhere?
Tasker in combi with secure settings plugin i guess..

I appreciate the help and I realize you're tapping this out on a phone, but I really don't understand what you're suggesting.
He means Tasker is the app you are looking for bro.

Download the app called Tasker and the plugin app called Secure Settings and you can set up a task to turn the screen on at any time. Another app similar to Tasker is Automagic Premium (might be a lite version also). Automagic can turn the screen on as well. Tasker and Automagic Premium both cost money. Secure Settings is free.

How to turn on Google Now?

I go to the search settings and turn the slider to on, but whenever I go back to the settings it's off again. The cards also don't show up. Is it only working in the US?

Long press the home screen --> settings --> there is a switch to activate or not Google Now
Nice find with the long press on homescreen. Hadn't seen that. I just logged out and logged in again.
BTW if you clear the data from search it just reverts all home screens to default and you lose Google Now.

OK Google keeps crashing/not working.

It works some times but recently I'm trying to say OK GOOGLE and it just shows a blank microphone in the search bar. I have to reset my phone and it will work for a short time before stopping.
I would like to not have to factory reset since I have some very important documents photos and other items.
I don't have a computer to back it up to so that's out of the question.
Any ideas ?

If it crashes you will see a "so and so has stopped working" message on your screen. If the icon is hollowed then Hotword detection is not currently activated. This can happen most commonly when the speaker is outputting any sound so that it doesn't take the speaker output as the microphone input.

[Q] No smart lock?

I updated from KitKat to lollipop via OTA and am using a pin number as my lock screen. However I have no option to enable smart lock. Anyone know how to fix this?
PS. I won't be reflashing lollipop if I can't fix this

I noticed it didn't appear immediately after the upgrade to Google Play Services 6.5. Have you tried a reboot?

Any resolution on this? I got sick of waiting for my 2013 nexus 7 to get lollipop so I did a sideload. Everything works fine I just don't have any smart lock options. I've tried uninstalling updates to play services then updating via google play, rebooting, then sideloading the current version of play services and rebooting and I still have no smart lock option...
Just seen this. No rotation

If you've got lollipop installed, but don't have the Smart Lock option under Settings > Security, you've probably not enabled it as a Trust Agent. Go to Settings > Security > Trust agents (down at the bottom) and you should see Smart Lock (google) with an on/off switch next to it. It needs to be set to on for you to see the Smart Lock option. Once it's set, you can use the a device (bluetooth or NFC), your location or your face as a method of bypassing the lockscreen without entering the PIN. Hope that helps...
