I updated from KitKat to lollipop via OTA and am using a pin number as my lock screen. However I have no option to enable smart lock. Anyone know how to fix this?
PS. I won't be reflashing lollipop if I can't fix this

I noticed it didn't appear immediately after the upgrade to Google Play Services 6.5. Have you tried a reboot?

Any resolution on this? I got sick of waiting for my 2013 nexus 7 to get lollipop so I did a sideload. Everything works fine I just don't have any smart lock options. I've tried uninstalling updates to play services then updating via google play, rebooting, then sideloading the current version of play services and rebooting and I still have no smart lock option...
Just seen this. No rotation

If you've got lollipop installed, but don't have the Smart Lock option under Settings > Security, you've probably not enabled it as a Trust Agent. Go to Settings > Security > Trust agents (down at the bottom) and you should see Smart Lock (google) with an on/off switch next to it. It needs to be set to on for you to see the Smart Lock option. Once it's set, you can use the a device (bluetooth or NFC), your location or your face as a method of bypassing the lockscreen without entering the PIN. Hope that helps...

Long press the home screen --> settings --> there is a switch to activate or not Google Now
Nice find with the long press on homescreen. Hadn't seen that. I just logged out and logged in again.
BTW if you clear the data from search it just reverts all home screens to default and you lose Google Now.

My niece has a phone but she keeps forgetting the PIN or combination. What would be the options or instructions to disable those features and leave the Swipe option only?

settings > lockscreen > security (?)
"all i can really do , is stay out of my own way and let the will of heaven be done"
I mean disable those features so she can't choose it again in the future that Swipe is the only screen lock option to choose.

sorry , not that i'm aware of. hopefully someone else will chyme in
"all i can really do , is stay out of my own way and let the will of heaven be done"
There are several ways to do, I don't know which one you prefer, the easierst would be to download the 'SMS bypass' (Cerberus or any other similar app can also do it but for just one feature SMS bypass is all what we want) which needs to be running in the background, that allows sending an reset sms from another phone e.g. '1234 reset'. After that your phone will be restarted and the pass will be reset to 1234.
But I not recommend to entirely disabled it generally because this would be an open door for other attacks.
I wouldnt mind. Its just a tablet full of games and ebooks. If theres a way to remove those features.

If she keeps turning it back on she may be just messing with you on purpose. -_- may be you should talk to her about that.
Not aware of any way to achieve that. Maybe you should choose "face recognition" as access module? She won't forget that credential
I have started suddenly getting old android type swype lockscreen with SOS BUTTON in center. I never opened SOS settings. On checking sos settings it is off. Anyone how to remove this lockscreen?

Solved, app for free insurance offered by Samsung was causing lockscreen. Uninstalling solved it

A Better Fix
Found out that i really do not have to uninstall the app (appsdaily) in my case.
Instead,
1. Click on the app.
2. Click on Protection Tab
3. Scroll down and click on SOS tab to turn it off.
Lock & try unlocking..
Yeah there U go.. no more sos crap on the lock screen..
Cheers...
Thanks @NewBee029 . I was struggling to find a way to remove it.

Normaly You have toggle quick settings always. It works evean lock screen is on. Wi-fi, bluetooth need pin to disable on lockscreen, but 3g data or flymode work wthout pin. So if somone stol my phone, i cant track him.

Good point! But it would be also nice to disable turn off or restart.
But I guess volume down + power button will always work. How iPhone deals with this kind of situation?

IPhone has icloud activation lock, if the phone is registered to someone's account and you steal it and format it when going through setup it asks for the owners icloud details and won't move on from that

The question here is there anyway to keep the phone alive so you can track it as far as the battery goes. No way to shut it down or turn data and wifi off.

How about changing the lock screen with another lock screen app that disables quick settings? Next is one. Credit this post.
Samsung's Good Lock app (which replaces the stock lock screen) requires a PIN entry to change any of the quick toggles when the screen is locked.
I'm on TMobile. And I just got an update for the always on display. It now has the option to show notifications on the on the screen. I clicked this on the settings but I'm still not seeing the notifications. Is anyone else having this problem?

Yes tge new update for s7edge has some new features, but unfortunately samsung exceeded the third party notifications, i don't understand why, doesn't make sense..
Try this
Settings - Lock Screen & Security - Other Security Settings - Notification Access
Turn Always On Display to ON, the update didn't turned it on by itself.
