Hello everyone!
What I'm looking to do is really simple, a LOT of people are interested in these feature, however, no one has a clear solution.
There has been a lot of post about this subject but they are most old post and there's nothing help full.
Here is the problem - whenever I'm talking over the phone, I can play any music I like and I can hear it perfectly, but the other side cant hear anything! even if ill let the music play using the phone speaker - the other side is silent (witch is strange cause when the speaker play, the mic should transfer the sound and shouldn't "care" who is making it).
So after a lot of searching for apps and different ways, I found out something interesting.. If I make the call using an VOIP (skype, viber and so on) and Ill play music at the same time - THE OTHER SIDE CAN HEAR IT PERFECTLY!!! witch means the phone is fully capable of doing it.
What is going wrong when I'm using the cellular network instead of VOIP? is there a way around it?
Ive noticed some people don't get WHY would I want to do it.. well, I'm working using my phone (sales) and using the exact same pitch. I would like to be super lazy and play a recorded version of me, and when its done, be able to just keep talking to the person without him being able to notice the difference.
Since I'm doing it for work, I cant use VOIP for regular calling since Ill lose the option to use "Airdroid".
I'm using Nexus 4, Slimkat rom (4.4.4).
ANY help at all will be appreciated

I didnt really know where to put this, but here goes anyway
I have a HTC S710 with a broken screen. Im currently using it through MyMobiler, but this is really slow and then theres a number of smaller problems with it too.
I was wondering if there was any program which means you can use the resources avaliable on my phone, sms, calls etc, through my pc. Maybe a faster program similar to mymobiler. I think it would be great if it showed a popup when there was a text or an incoming call?
I have searched and not come up with anything usefull.
also, another thing i want to know is if there is any way to make my phone turn on speakerphone automatically upon answering a call?
Thanks, Cris
There are a few diffrenet apps available, but MyMobiler is the best, especially since it's free. There is an app here as well for turning on the speaker during an incoming call as well.
Just a question though, why wouldn't get a replacement device. Seems odd to only control it through your PC.
well, i dont want to replace it simply because im a student, therefore i cant really afford it. Secondly i just like this phone, so it seems a waste to not use it at all any more when it still functions as a phone even if i cant see whos calling.

I dont suppose you have a link to this app do you?
SpeakerPhone v1.05 (cab attached) when an incoming call is received, the speakerphone of your device will automatically turn ON when you receive a call.
Here is the LINK for further info...
thanks
thank you reaper
Hey guys,
I upgraded my wife to the SkyRocket for Christmas, but I'm having a problem using the Bluetooth with our motorcycle helmet headsets.
Everything pairs just fine, but once connected a push of the BT button on the headset should initiate Voice Dial (at least that's what happens with my DINC2). However her SR will go straight in to the dialer, and dial one of her contacts. Its always the same contact too (and not even someone she really wants to talk too lol)
Is there anyway to change/set the default BT Action on the SR??
Unrooted - completely stock ROM.
Thanks
Ed
Hey Ed,
I am working on the same thing. I have a Cardo Scala Rider G4 that I used with my iPhone. I was quite disappointed in the BT performance. I have gotten some voice dialing to work on it. It's not 100%, but it's certainly better than what is going on.
Get the Galaxy S2 voice 2 go (from the orig GS2 - check this thread) - It's basically a rebranded Vlingo, but has a couple more commands (like play music).
The Dial button still didn't work with it, but now does with the Bluetooth Launch app. Thankfully it's free. Make sure you reboot the app after installing it. It seems like the app just needs to be there, and you don't have to configure it to run the Galaxy Voice 2 go / vlingo.
Some things still not great for bikers like us:
- Can't initiate voice dialing / actions with screen locked (there is a bypass setting from what I read in other threads, but it doesn't seem to be in our ROM)
- haven't tested voice initiated answer, but I am not holding my breath.
Let me know how you make out!

Thanks for the suggestions Steve!
We're using the Sena SMH10 headsets and have pretty happy with them, even with my wife's old Iphone 3GS. I'd just like to avoid the odd behavior that she's had with the SR.
Voice dial with my DINC2 works ok as long as I'm stopped. Once I get moving however, the helmet/wind noise confuses the voice dialer and I never know who I'm going to get lol

Yeah, that makes sense. I find the Scala performs better when moving. The noise cancellation is pretty good. I usually use the voice command to play a play list or an album, not really to take calls. Are you using an open face helmet or full face? Mine is a full face, which might be the difference.
I'm hoping that once some official CM ROM or something else comes out, that this gets fixed. I can say that even though I like Droid better for everything else, the 3GS voice control worked really well.
We both use Modular Helmets (me a Shoei Multitec and her a Shark Evoline) so they are bit noisier than a standard full face. Neither of us are organized for things like play lists... that's what Shuffle All is for!!
Actually I have a Zumo 550 with XM and I control my tunes through the GPS. Unfortunately the Zumo doesn't do BT stereo...so I'm hardwired to it.
Oh and I just loaded her up with VtoG and Bluetooth Launch....so far it looks promising. At least she's not calling Phil anymore . It's going to be a few days until we field test it.

I use a Fulmer modular. It's not terribly noisy, but then again the ventilation is horrible. I am not super organized about playlists, but I found that my iPod incremented playcount only when a song ended. I travel a lot for business, so on the plane I would shuffle all songs and then skip ones I didn't like. I then built a smart playlist in iTunes where all songs with a playcount >1 where in it.
I'll have to do a field test at some point, but it's damn cold right now. It might be high 40's by Friday, so I might get out.
BTW - I did find the the Scala's A2DP play/pause function works well with the stock music player and winamp, even when locked. I can probably live with setting music on before leaving and just using the controls if I want to stop it.
I have considered wiring in my Sirius radio, but that's one of many projects I am working on
Like many other people, I am hoping someone will point me in the right direction on how to boost the internal mic. I use my transformer for Skype, and like others, when I do I am barely heard by the person on the other end.
I have read up on Voodoo Sound but that apparently doesn't support mic boost and is only for headphones. I have read up on KAT ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1841851.html ) which may indirectly do what I need if I switch ROMs and get other features from the addon that I really don't need.
I have tried messing with asound.conf I have tried using alsamixer and I'm at a loss for what values should be input. I have looked in just about every config/data/etc/ whatever folder I can think of.
All I want is to be able to boost the gain/sensitivity on the internal mic. What script/config/file/setting do I need to change/add to do this?
And before someone mentions it.. I really don't want to use a headset =P
Thanks for any help you guys can offer. Hopefully this doesn't get overlooked like all the other "help me fix my mic" questions I've seen.
Edit1: OK, I think I've managed to figure out alsa_amixer and which settings are important to me (apparently you need to read the datasheet to figure this out...). That said, when I set the value I want for the input PGAs.. they don't stay set even if I use alsa_ctl store. I think I found a thread mentioning the same issue. I really don't understand why changing the record volume on the mic is such a problem for android devices...
No one has any idea?
Im also trying to boost the mic although skype works quite well programs like soundhound or shazaam pick up nothing even tried an external mic.
I found a program on play/market called alsamixer maybe you could try that see if it sticks.
Could you tell me the PGA setting or settings for the mic it has soo many i dont want to screw things up.

I had tried alsamixer but anytime I changed the settings, they would always be reverted back making the process pointless.
I have sense tried using KAT Audio: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1841851
This seems to at least access the mic. I have seen it work somewhat with Skype though the results are sporadic. I have absolutely no idea how to make Skype work reliably with KAT Audio...
You said Skype works well for you. Is this using the internal mic on the Transformer? How are you able to get it to work for you?

My skype works well.
Search on google play sound meter and isntall and test the mic again.
I wish u good luck
Yeah skype and the internal mic works very good here only shazam and soundhound pick up nothing.
I dont have a transformer but a slider and tried KAT aswell changing the mic doesnt seem to do anything for me
so could you still tell me the PGA's i need changing? maybe i have better luck with alsa if i know which ones lol.

I'm pretty sure it's the left and right input PGAs.
Hey guys! New to XDA. To keep this post short and simple, i bought the new Nexus 5 and so far its been great. However, i do have a slight problem that irks me in a bad way. At times google now will pick up my voice no problem. Google search, send a text, open a app you, call someone you name it, it works fine. Recently, however, google now tends to not pick up my voice, and the only way to remedy this is by restarting the phone. I remember reading about people have microphone issues and that phone calls sound muddy and video recording at times with bad units barely picks up ones voice. I, on the other hand, do not experience these problems. Only google now seems to show this problem. If anyone could help that'd be great . Im thinking since my video recording and phone calls are fine, its not a hardware issue. Do you think it might be software? I unfortunately cant post a video link in here so...ill try to rack 10 posts somewhere quick.
so it turns out XDA makes it pretty hard to post 10 posts. Just to get the quickest results, if you guys are up for it you can find the video on youtube. Just search "Nexus 5 Google Now glitch". the videos under the name john doe...lmao:good:
I have the same issue myself. 'OK Google' will work fine, then for some reason a while later it'll stop working. Sorry to say I don't know how to remedy it without a restart, but don't worry too much because it is a bug that is affecting other people too.
i see. im just wondering because if its a hardware issue i would wanna return it before im out of time.
Hello!
I have a major issue during videocalls using google duo, skype where if there are any background noise around me, i can't hear the person i am talking to. The audio cuts off. It has to be silent around me in order for me to hear the person i am talking to. Is there any fix to this problem? I have already reset the phone but the problem is still there.
mic (over) sensitivity? perhaps some will stop by and know the file and file entry to edit.
any of this type setting elsewhere (Settings, the app itself, and sound modification yo have installed, eg Viper, etc... that you can check/get to?
I have no sound modification installed. I checked the settings but there seems to be no part adressing this issue. The same problem happens when i use different apps like skype, google duo and signal. Could it be a hardware problem? The microphone works fine when i record a video or recording audio.
Maybe.
Rooted? If so, and you've done a full, clean install, and sure that the install is working ok, maybe try another custom ROM.
Normal calls work, as I get you it's (just) video calls? Another possibility, I'd consider looking up mic sensitivity and ways to decrease it. On the OnePlus One I am aware there was a configuration file folks could mess with to try and resolve that phone's mics over sampling. That was a common issue for many.
Have you tried turning the volume down and see if that has any effect?
Wish I could offer more ideas, I have used video calls maybe 3 times in 8 years.
The phone is not rooted. This problem occurs only when i use internet based videocalls (skype, google duo). The volyme is not usually high when i call. Thank you for your time, hopefully i will find a solution soon.
Frustrating. Good luck.
