How do you re-create a system .odex file? I deleted it when I was debloating my phone not knowing that its required if you want to use the app again. Im looking to get blur email engine and conversations back so I can use stock sms and calendar again. I have the apk's still.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
EDIT: I found some odex files from an update that are labeled .odex.p
I copied these over, renamed them, and set the permissions. This didn't seem to do anything. There must be something more that needs to be done.
Hi all,
As the stocks Razr i contacts app allows the user only to save the contacts on the SIM-Card or Google Account (which I don't have and don't want),
I wanted to ask if there's a good replacement available?
to allow the saving of contacts on the phone.
(Omars Rom had one, but I'm currently using the in my opinion much faster Pi-llama Rom and it has the stock contacts )
[Solved]

How does it work and where can I get the .apk or flash file from?

I already tried Contacts+, but when adding new contacts it refers to the stock contacts app that can only use the SIM-card (or google) - [Contacts+ is just a nice interface, but not an independent addressbook]

Download Omar's rom, unzip the contacts apk file, copy it to your sdcard, open root explorer, go to system apps, mount r/w, rename your current file to have it as a backup, copy omars apk to the folder.

Thank you, it worked! :good:
Here are instructions for those who want to do the same:
Requires Rooted Device with Root Explorer
0. Backup your contacts
1. Download the two attached contact files [from Omars Rom].
2. Delete the old ones in /system/apps .
3. Then insert them change to rw-r--r, and mount, restart the device
Now you can have an unlimited number of contacts on your phone storage.
Edit:Attached the files
Sorry I didnt point out the exact file names, I was not 100% sure which of them are the ones that needed to be overwritten.
Hello. I want to make an app which will need to inspect S Planner files to find out which photos are used in the calendar events.
So i need to know the location of S-Planner data on phone. Where is it located?
Use root browser & go to system/app & also in system/priv-app.
Sent from my SM-G900H using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I have only system/app, and no priv-app, however, in the system/app directory there is only an apk file and an odex file. This may sound noob, but are all calendars stored in an apk?? And how?

Someone please help me I deleted the calendar files on my phone using titanium backup thinking I could just use the Google Calendar from the App Store but apparently I deleted a necessary file. I can't find the Verizon s6 system dump anywhere to get the file I need. I found one for some other variant and downloaded the file but it won't let me install the SecCalendar app on my phone it just gets to the end of installation and says "app not installed"
