[Q] Air gestures - Honor 6, 6 Plus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there
It's nice that honor supports air gestures. I like the option "raise to ear" to answer a call, but unfortunately it doesnt work for me. Anyone else having issues with it?

Me too. Its doesnt work.

Update
It seems I was holding it wrong
When holding the phone in the right hand, raise to ear works. Using left hand doesnt seem to work.
Hope this would be helpful to anyone!

Locking Hard Buttons

Hello,
Does anyone can recommend how can I lock hardware buttons on the front of my Cingular 8125 while it is locked? Even though that I am using the Device Lock app, the hardware buttons are still active when someone calls to me. As a result when I hear the ring and am rushing to get my phone from the pouch, those “Answer” or “Ignore” buttons getting pressed and the phone answers the incoming call by itself. Is any way to lock these buttons as well?
Regards
Try this

Help: Touch Pro answers calls in pocket!

Hi!
I have a major problem with Pro. Had it for week and already I have missed many calls. Well, technically I've answered them :-(
The problem is that when a call comes in, the touch screen activates and if the phone is in pocket, it will very likely answer the call. It has done this many times and it does it so fast that the vibrating alarm doesn't even vibrate once. So I have no idea that somebody is listening to me in my pocket!
No, the button lock, doesn't seem to help here. Try it. Even with button lock on, you can answer the incoming calls with touch screen.
So what to do? I am really lost with this. Do I need to power off the phone completely when I'm on the road and only power it on when it's on the table? Yes, that works... and yes, it would be ridiculous.
One solution could be that when an incoming call is coming, one would need to enable the touch screen by pressing one of the hardware keys. And the call could be answered with the hardware keys also. After all, they do not press down easily in the pocket. But there is no way to set the phone this way AFAIK.
So, please guys help! (Google didn't help although Diamond users must have the same problem.)
I have the same problem!!! Didn't figured out a way to solve it by my own. It's realy annoying, especially if you do not want to answer at all to the person that is calling.
please, did anyone find a solution to this issue?
someone tried this and seem to work.

I would like to try it without changing the dialier

Think a little app is required that blocks off touch screen as incoming call arrives.
Same problem on the Diamond :

I have tested the technique exposed by Carloshdez with CSDEVCTRL 3.28 and it works on the TP:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2590105&postcount=188
I Followed his configuration, but entered "0" at the top for "Lock if Idle for Sec"
When the phone rings, CSDEVCTRL deactivate the screen but keep the hard keys activated.
Very complicated solutions it seems... I do not like to replace the dialler for instance. Hmmm.
Any solution where it would be possible to "open" the touch screen before doing anything to the call. I mean, it needs to behave so that
- the screen activates and you can see who is calling
- the touch screen is inactivate so that you do not accidentally answer it
- you can "open" the touch screen to
* answer
* hang-up
* mute
* i.e. all things that are now possible
This is because the hardware buttons do not give you all options, like mute and send text.
Hate to say, but iPhone style (or should I rather say Androind style) "slide to unlock" might be it as it's not that probably thing to happen in pocket. Are there such programs? And what do they do otherwise (that I probably do not want )?
With the solution I exposed, the screen is turned on but locked when a call comes in.
When you hangup with the hard key, everything (including mute, etc) is unlocked so you can use your TP as you were before.
Or you can use S2U2. With it, you have a "Slide to unlock" and "Slide to answer" Iphone's style button.
What happens if the other party was the one to end the call (you did not end the call by pressing the end key), will it still unlock the screen or what?

You didn't get the mute part... I frequently want to mute the ringing WITHOUT answering or hanging up the call. Excellent feature BTW! Usually just to walk away from the current situation to quiet place to answer the call. Yes, I know I can do that with turning the phone upside down also, but there is also the text message option that I'm learning to use also.
I guess I need to try S2U2 then.

try this over S2U2!
Hm... turning my phone around before I can answer a call seems to me a little silly.
A simpel application would be more usefull.

If the other party ends the call, the phone unlock. Actually it is only lock during "ringing"

I agree! Seems like an excellent idea, but the turning part seems complicated (risc dropping the phone, use 2 hands...?). I rather have something that can be done just by thumb of one hand.
(No, haven't had the possibility to try either one yet.)
The whole sensor thing is turning into a carnival, hopefully some real useful apps will be made using it.

I would apreciate a application that locks the phones touch screen while it rings and unlocks it after you answer (so that you can use it during the call).
Can't make this application, i'm not that smart, but maybe someone els can?
LE: I think this thread should be made "Sticky" until we find a solution, because we have here a real issue!!!
I am going to attempt to DEV an app like that, but I am sure one of the Senior's could dev this much quicker
I know it sounds like a silly solution and I agree that this is a serious design bug but a simple way to avoid this problem is to keep the phone in its pouch....

And that is how I've also answered and ended a call before I've slid the phone out of the pouch since the pouch is quite tight and activates the screen...
Need some other option on screen, like S2U, to 'unlock' the normal phone app' touch options first.

It IS in his Pouch, and both in my pocket, but it answers itself the calls!!!!
The app should use the side bottons to MUTE the call.

Screen- and Button lock

I tryed the sensor lock and I was at first impressed with it but as soon as I had to soft reset the Pro, Sensorlock starting to vibrate alot!
I couldn't unlock the phone at all, not even enter my pin. The only way I could get in to my phone was by putting in the USB cabel, and uninstall the sensorlock. So I won't try that again. Stylus lock looks neat but having to remove the stylus from the phone just to be able to answer a call aint what I'm looking for.
I'm hoping that someone here can rip out the locking function from the Kaiser and make it useable on the Pro. That program was really good and simple.
hope someone can help me find what I want.
you should read the readme or use the search engine in this forum. i guess some devices are just not compatible at this time with the vibrate function. wating for 0.3, it should be fixed.

Yeah I had the same problem!
My touch pro was spaaacing. He was vibrating the whole time....
So the uninstall was very quick with this one
oh seems 0.3.1 is out, bug is gone for me.
for your information ahorn I did use the search function and I did read the readme file..
But sensorlock wasn't my question... I was mearly wondering if someone could make the screen/button lock from kaiser to work in the Raphael... since I had problems with the other.
I had SensorLock installed since yesterday and had no problem at all. In fact I am liking it over another product. Maybe you need change your settings.
My only qualms is that it does not have a unique gesture.
I still got problems with sensorlock, so I'm not gonna use that.
I would like a more simple locking program like the one on Kaiser. Easy and fully functional.
Phone Lock
Sensor Lock would be great for me if I shouldn’t have to rotate the phone like a weird maniac pretending a magician or something - looks extremely funny when it doesn’t unlock and you’re in a meeting with business partners. Like I’m really desperate to impress the party this way …
Would be lovely if instead of rotating the thing we could use a sequence combination of pressing hard buttons. Like “Power, + Back” toggling “Lock Everything”, though this diminishes its name “SensorLock”, I would be gratefully thankful if this option would be kindly implemented by the developer.
i use vjdevice lock and remaped it to the left soft key, works great, one touch screen lock and power off. Big thanks to Vjay555 for this one.

Security lock from the Tornado smartphone is another good one. I hope someone will be able to rip it off for the TouchPro.
If you are looking to disable the on-screen answer keys only, the answerkeys disabler works perfectly for me...

Lock Screen during calls

Greetings all.
Does anyone know of a good way of locking the screen while making a phone call? I've tried proximity sensor, which does not work on my phone. I currently have my time out setting at 15 seconds, but that does not work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm sick of face dialing/hanging up.
Proximity sensor does not work at all for me, either. I have been begging and begging people on the forum to help come up with a way to remove or disable the huge "End call" button, as I am constantly hanging up on people with my face.
It is the number one suckiest thing about my Hero right now.
oh, i am looking for this kind of software but found nothing
Probably one of the best "answer/hang up" functions I saw was with SIPdroid. Slide up to answer, slide down to hang up. Of course, the data service is not good enough to always use that though.....
I put the notification bar down down, but it seems almost buggy, sometimes the notification bar stays down and sometimes it just moves up by itself again.

And, then, enjoy the vibrations as you move your homescreen icons around with your face.
Why is there so much resistance to figuring out how to either lock the screen during a call or just disable or remove the stupid soft "End call" button?
Is it significantly more difficult than changing the button color or creating a ROM?

Home button is cool if you happen to only touch the end call button and never anything else. I personally called a friend and sent 4 blank texts to someone, don't ask me how....
Home button will cause as many problems. Notification bar coming down is the best way I've found....
an even better way. hold the menu button down.
the keyboard is a great shield.

Well, google is my friend, i don't know why I doubted ye...
Screen Suite does it for me. The app is $1.99, but it has a setting where it automatically locks the screen on calls.
A bluetooth headset negates that problem completely......

How do you like it? I found it and it seemed kind of bloated with a lot of features I don't need. Does it eat up memory/power?
I am interested....
I don't get why you guys are having so many issues with this, my phone screen locks at the default of 30s when in calls, it has done this as long as I have had the phone.

Mine usually does. Unless it thinks I'm pressing things with my face, which keeps it awake.
That is... if my face doesn't end the call by the time the 30 seconds is up. My guess? It's probably the shape of our faces?
I just try to hold the bottom part of the screen away from my face. Once the screen turns off I've never hung up on someone.

Hmm another good one! Any keyboard presses do anything nasty? I'm on swype but I wonder if hitting the mic button on the hacked keyboard would do anything annoying.
Thanks for the tip!
My main problem is when my wife calls, and wants to talk to my son. His face is a lot smaller, and well, everything get screwed up when he uses the phone. As for the program, it does have a lot of features, but all I did was have it set to auto-lock on phone calls. I still have my default vanilla lock screen.
Lack of a both a proximity sensor and dedicated screen-off button is this phone's single unforgivable flaw.
I will never again buy a touchscreen device without at least one of these.

Headphone button to Initiate Google Now (or anything)

Hello everyone!
I'm probably out of luck on this one, but I was wondering if there's any way to make the microphone button on my wired headset initiate google now. I think it would be an awesome way to interact with my phone without having to turn the screen on or touch the device.
Is there any way to do this? I'm on the lollipop preview at the moment, but I'm curious in general if anyone knows a way to make this work.
Thanks!

I did try that. I held down the mic button for a solid 10 seconds and nothing happened. I'm on Pure-White Lollipop.
