Now that Google has released Cardboard, I would love a feature to render regular videos the same way 3D Half SBS is rendered.
Obviously it won't create any 3D effect but it would still give the big screen cinema effect when using Cardboard or Durovis Dive for example.
There is already an app called "Side-By-Side Video Player" but it can't play any of my x264 MKVs, so if MX started supporting this, that'd be great!
Same here, I 3d-printed a Durovis Dive and with Changed Aspect Ratio its cool to watch side by side movies.
If there was an option to double a normal 2D video, would enable me to watch normal movies for instance on a plane like being in a movie theatre.
And by the way, the format after the conversion (double) would be side by side, not half-sbs.
Thanks in advance,
seas

That's not really related, he wants conversion for different types of 3D standards, Side-by-side vs Over-under.
Over-under videos look like this: http://www.tweaking4all.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/3d_top_and_bottom_example.jpg
VR glasses like Cardboard and Durovis Dive require the video to be Side-by-side.
What seas1 and I are requesting is simply an option to render the same frame twice, Side-by-side.
Ah, well, this seems on appearance to be a simple implementation, the "hard" part would be to crop it for left vs right eye. Let's see what the dev's got to say about this.
Hi everyone, please post/repost your question/request/comment on the new Sticky thread on this topic. This way, it's more organized and we can more easily get visibility and discussion on this topic.

Hi all
i'm after a live wallpaper App that can display an HD video as the background.
I have tried the 'Video live wallpaper' app. but anything above 480p gives low frame rate.
i get the feeling the app's not optimized to use full potential of Shield GPU.
The video i'm hoping to use is is from NASA Goddard. a 5 year time laps of the sun with different filters and optics.
(cant post link, new member. Can be found on youtube: "NASA | SDO: Year 5")
some beautiful colour's, i'm sure the Shield could do a wonderful job with it.
anyone know of any Video wallpaper apps could play this video in 1080p or 720p ?
many thanks
pw

The movies need to be anaglyph to be able to be seen in 3D using anaglyph 3D glasses ( blue/red ). You don't need any special player to watch them either, just play them off YouTube and put the glasses on.
Now if you expect SBS or TBT 3D movies to work on a 60Hz panel, which the Moto G3 has, then you're out of luck.
Youtube videos with side-by-side 3D will also work.
Only problem is, that on the Moto G 2015 Youtube doesn't offer the "Cardbord" button for switching to the Google cardboard optimized view.
Not sure why this is missing as even on my ancient Samsung Galaxy Tab the Cardboard mode is available.
This might be due to the fact that the Moto G is missing a Gyroscope. Which of course would be totally stupid as a missing Gyroscope would effect some Cardboard usages like 360° videos, but would be no problem for viewing plain 3D videos.
With a 4K display, I wonder why there are only 2 threads asking about VR, (one opened by me) and why there are no guides at all? I mean there are lot of people who would like to buy for VR but don't wanna risk it because there are no proper information.
All i could gather is:
- you have first to change the native resolution of your android to 4K, for APPS.
- MXplayer shows 4K content. (I guess). and so does youtube. But still no one definitely answer is you can watch 4k 3D 360 videos with this device.
- Most apps dont support 4K so forget games in 4K. But no one says if the phone at least support 2k VR.
- Also no much information on which Headset is best compatible with this device.
- It is said everywhere that the LCD Screen response time is not fast enough for VR. Is this the same for videos, or is it just for games? Or is it even as big of a deal as they make it sound?
Aren't there any VR enthusiast who also has purchased a 4K display phone who could maybe clear some questions?
tnx
I can confirm that YouTube, MX Player, VLC and VRTV Player display 4K properly. For more information see my post in another thread.
And I was able to watch this YouTube video in 360° 3D mode with 2160s60 quality without any issue.

This is a big factor that's got me interested in the XZP. Give Car's VR player a try. It seems to play videos for me that other VR video apps won't but I'm still on my Le Pro 3 so I can't test 4k myself. It's my go to headset video watching app (I like watching shows and movies this way). If it supports 4k, that'd be amazing!
Hello Friends,
It's been a long time posting on XDA Forum. Now we are proud to announce that BSK Studios Pvt Ltd. and INDIA Startup company launched an FXtreme 3D Movie Director App.
What is special in it?? For several years from now people struggle to get good Chromakey Green and Blue Screen videos. Either they have to pay a huge chunk of money to buy Chromakey Green and Blue Screen videos. Creating on our own makes it so complex that we should be aware of multiple technologies like After Effects, Photoshop, Blender, 3D Max etc. Also we should know how to animate it and setting camera angle shots like Aerial, Ground, Long Shot etc. Now compacting all this in an Mobile App. Isn't it so COOL??
Using "FXtreme 3D Movie Director" we can create hundreds and thousands of Chromakey Green and Blue screen videos at any camera angle. Also we can take FX Movies instantly just need steady hands or use a Tripod to make it look stable.
Just Install the "FXtreme 3D Movie Director" App which is available both in Google Play and App Store.

2) Set Shadow,Green Screen or Blue Screen according to your requirement.
3) Set the Camera Angle that matches you scene.
4) Set the 3D Model by using Position, Rotation and Zoom Controls. So that it fits in your scene completely.
5) Set the animation that 3D model want to perform like Idle, Walking, Running, Roar, Fly, Forward, Up, Down etc.
6) Click on Preview to view the animation before recording it.
7) After you are satisfied. Just hit Record button and it records the animation.
8) Manually you have to stop the Recording based on your video length.
