Hey guise.
I was wondering if there was any video player on android that can handle most video types or scale down video its incapable of playing at full quality. The video compatibility is the biggest problem on my tablet, maybe other users as well.
Try MX Video.
Hi everybody,
I installed Player Pro apk on my Atrix2 (which is rooted and running Lithium ROM), and liked it very much as it works with audio and video files and supports may file formats.
But the problem is that Player Pro is not listed in the "COMPLETE ACTION USING" list when I try to view video through Gallery.
To check the problem I istalled MX Player and Mobo Video, and then again went to see my video through Gallery - all video players are listed but Player Pro.
Also when I use BubbleUPnP and want to stream video that is on my laptop, again I got a pop-up icon ''COMPLETE ACTION USING'' where again Player Pro is not listed + Mobo Video is not listed as well.
What could be done, can you please help me with it.
Thanks.
Hi everyone! I'm having a problem when I try to zoom in any video to fill the screen and eliminate the black bars on movies for example. I'm only getting a stretched video, not being able to get a proper uniform zoom, except when I select the software decoder. The problem is that some 4K videos can't be played smoothly on SW mode and also I lose the audio passthrough. I know this was once mentioned possibly as a hardware limitation, am I right?? I'm using the app on a TV with Android TV 6. The reported hardware SoC is a MediaTek MT5891 (Mali T-860 GPU). Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
C'mon guys, at least tell me there's nothing you can do about it!

Yes, It looks like a hardware feature of the TV Boxes. MX Just uses android APIs. It doesn't work properly once any one of the sides reaches the screen limit & starts stretching when you zoom more. In our internal tests, Mi Box used to have similar issues. But, there are no such issues after Oreo update Zoom works properly on all three decoders.

Thanks man! I've got a pending update from Android TV 6 to 7 so, maybe it'll work with it.
Hi everyone.
This may be a solution.
I get to realise that this thread has a long history and there is no proper answer.
I too had the same problem while using MX player in Android tv. But some video are able to crop view. After many thoughts I get to realise that there are two kind of popular encoding in mkv format.
Videos encoded in H.264 have no problem. But if it is H.265 commonly known as HEVC it will no crop or zoom in.
I currently use H.264 video for maximum use of my tv screen.
Please Google these encoding method for better understanding. There are some interesting comparison between two.
Happy watching

Hi,
On my Samsung Note gt-n8010 I have installed Lineage OS 14.1 with small pack of google apps. It works a bit laggy but is quite stable. Wifi and Bluetooth works fine.
I can play an mp4 video recorded by this device's camera and I can also play a video shared from other android device.
When I try to use ifit smart cardio app which is offering physical workouts recorded all over the world then I only see a black part of the screen instead of the video. I can listen to the audio path but video frame stays black
I suspect that I am missing some video codecs and I wonder what should I install. The graphic chip is an old Mali 400 and maybe it does not support some modern video formats?
Can you help?
Hi
I have a xiaomi mi a1 phone and a xiaomi mi box s (with chromecast support). I wanna to play video with sound on tv and on phone too at same time (so audio and video "cloning" on both devices).
I tried the cast mode with vlc and xplayer video player apps on my phone, but then it transfers both the video and the audio to tv, no video or audio on phone.
I tried screen mirroring too, but phone have no sound when played the video, and screen lock transferred too to my tv. It's not a correct solution.
Exist some special app for this, or android system can basically know this things just the settings are wrong?
What app do you recommend for it? Or maybe I should looking for another technique / method not cast/screen mirroring?
Thanks for your help!
