is my phone dead? - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I converted my xt1033 to gpe and updated it and reboot pn the stock recovery, then my phone switched off and that's it,not even the led is blinking.Any thing,it was at 97% charging then

Just press the power button continuously for two minutes.
Use a clock to measure it as two minutes might seem like 10 when you're continusly pressing the button

doesn't seems to be dead

Q28: Moto G will not power up
didnt work soz =/ have acess to the battery btw
Let it charge
It doesnt charge!!!!
It sounds like you have a problem with your charge if you have left it connected to the charger for a few hours and the phone will still not power on. Try connecting the USB cable to a PC / Laptop and charge the phone that way.
Doesnt work tried about 4 different chargers and on pc it doesnt work either .
When i plug in the led starts blinking and after some time stops , if i press the power button the led would blink 2 times then nothing...
So you have tried the following?
Plug it into the charger
Hold the VOL DOWN key
While still holding the VOL DOWN key, press and hold the POWER key
Hold both keys down for over 120 seconds. This is more than two minutes and will seem like a long time. You might want to time yourself to make sure you hold it longer than two minutes.
After holding the keys down for more than two minutes, release them.
The Flash Boot screen will display, and the Normal Reboot option will be highlighted
Press the VOL UP key and the device will start a normal reboot.
yes man i tried said that didnt worked on the post

[HELP] Stock 5.0.1 phone power up issue

Hello,
I flashed the latest LRX22C image on my nexus 5 today.Had flashed it clean, wiping data, cache and system etc except the Internal Storage. Then I flashed the SUPERSU 2.37 ZIP .Everything was fine for about 4 hours. Then suddenly when I pressed the power button to turn the screen off,it was not turning off and the "Switch off" mode was popping up instead .Then, when I got a call,it switched off.The phone won't turn on again. It starts, the Google Boot Splash appears and the bootanimation starts for like 2 seconds and it switches off.Same thing for bootloader mode.
Please Help me!
EDIT: Now its turning on by itself and switches off in 2 seconds!
Sounds like a bad power switch to me, but of course that is just my opinion. :good:
sounds like a mech issue.
legit isue
I have the same problem on mine now... Basically my phone powered down around 45%. Battery. At the time i thought it was dead... But it wasnt. When i would plug into external power, either usb or through wireless charging it would power cycle continuously at the android splash screen.... (1 to 2 second intervals - even if i booted into fastboot) Interestingly it would never go to the battery charging mode. But automatically boot on charge... It did this for about 6 hours then i gave up and left it unplugged for a day. I plugged it back in and it started power cycling again, however this time on its third boot it came back to life . thats when i discovered i still had 40% battery... I dont know what exactly made it boot but it did. Oddly also on boot, it started optimising apps and finishing install again. I checked the md5 before I installed the update so no issue there. Since it powered up i have powered the phone off using the power button long push and let the phone power down. After doing this when i plug the phone in to usb charge it goes to the charge screen. No issue. That said, if i try to power up while tethered and charging it will not allow it. It just stays at the charge screen. As soon as i unplug the usb the power button allows the phone to power up and work... When booted up it charges as normal when plugged in. Im convinced there is an issue with the power management drivers or drivers for the button controls. My phone worked fine until the 5.0.1 update was installed. On my nexus 5. Anyone else or just us two? Ive had a hard time finding people posting on this issue.

Moto G Wont Turn On

I have upgraded my moto g from 4.3.3 to 4.4.4 and it wont turn on all it gives me is a white light flashing.
I relay need some help.
Thank You
Did the phone run out of battery power in the middle of installing the update?
Have you managed to resolve the problem?
I have had the white flashing problem before with Moto G, although it was nothing to do with the upgrade.
1) Ensure the phone is turned off
2) Hold the power button down and the volume button down at the same time. ( As in lowering down volume end not the increase volume end)
3) Hold both buttons down for over 36 seconds and you should see the screen turning itself on.
I know it's over 36 seconds as both Moto G phones did exactly the same thing to me and it was in regards to the battery.
This is the weird bit okay.... It may not work for at first and may not work the second time and may not work the third time.
Give the phone a break for a few mins...
Try number 1 - 3 again and this time - Don't hold it on for over 30 seconds...
4) Hold the power button down and volume button down for over 2 minutes - and MAKE SURE THEY ARE KEPT DOWN and don't let go at any point. You may on the rare occassion see the white light flash twice and then within the two minutes the power will come on!
Now if it doesnt come on don't worry at this point. - You can try number 4 again if you want... Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Ensure the phone is switched off and leave it for a while.... If you sure you have enough battery power - don't recharge it unless you have to.
Give it a couple of hours of leaving the phone alone....
Press the power button down and the volume down again... Try it and you should be taken into the bootloader mode and just press reboot and the phone will reboot properly... It may take a few minutes to reboot longer than usual. But when the phone loads up all is back to normal again...
Do this occassionally as the longest period I had from it being unable to turn it on was 8 hours.
I know this may not make sense at all - But when I bought two Moto G 2014 4 G version when it first came out, and the battery was problematic and glitching I went through - 5 Moto G's all in all before I had a phone that stopped giving me these problems. That's taking it back and exchanging it and all that. Normally I would have given up, but Motorola went above and beyond during this battery problem and I couldn't fault them in regards to the phone being exchanged and their follow up emails in making sure all was okay.
Try the - If it doesn't work - You have two options - Take the phone back to where you bought it from and get them to sort it out. If no joy, contact Motorola and you will find them really helpful in sorting your phone out or even exchanging it for a new one.
Hope this helps....

[Q] will not turn on - flashing green light

Put my sim free s6 on charge last night (wireless) as i always do and when i woke up the green led was flashing quite fast.
I went to wake the phone up using home button and nothing, nothing from powerbutton either. Tried holding down powerbutton and have also tried charging manually but still nothing. What was strange also was that i did not get any charging sound when i inserted the cable to try an charge it.
I am pretty sure its charged though...just will not turn on.
Any ideas?
No completely stock phone, very few apps on it, just over a week old.
Updated to 5.1.1 via ota a couple of days ago.
Just done a bit of a search on the Internet and says to hold all the buttons down which I've done and has now restarted and seems fine.
Does not explain what's happened though
problem solved?
Well it's working fine now but does not explain why it just died for no reason and would not do anything without rebooting with that method.
Phone was 100% charged when started up also....very strange
Got same thing happen to my S6 after updating it to 5.1.1 . Phone have random freeze problem , left it on desk then someone called and a didnt get it up so notification light blinked i wanted to check who was calling but after pressing power to wake it up it wasnt working same with home button. So i had to keep pressed Vol- and power to reset phone . I wonder is it a 5.1.1 bug ?
Hi my phone is a Samsung Galaxy s6 and I've had it about a month the it just stopped working it had no life although when I go to charge it it starts charging but if i try to turn it on it just flashes a green light on the bottom of the phone what is this please
You don't need to hold all buttons down. Hold VOLUME DOWN+POWER for a few seconds and it will do a forced reboot.
I have the same problem with my s6 edge. Tried everything, and nothing is working. Any other suggestions on how to turn on my phone?
Hi! Did you get any responses? I'm having the same problem and don't know what to do
Thanks, this helped me out. 3 buttons at the same time. I did it long, maybe needlessly.
i had my Note 8 phone working absolutely fine sitting at my desk. I picked it up and saw ~50% batt. Got into a subway after 10 minutes and tried to check the time - the phone was completely dead. Tried everything under the sun - read 2 posts before this one and then found out the solution was to hold all the 3 buttons (important to note - the down volume + bixbee + start buttons) all at the same time for almost a minute to get it started.
All this time a green led light was flashing on top right of the phone.

Moto G (XT1033) won't charge (& weird LED behaviour)

I was using a custom ROM, SOKP to be specific. I was watching a video and the phone was low on battery, the battery got drained to 0% and it got powered off and even after leaving it on charging for full night it didn't charge. I've tried all the methods like pressing power button for 2 minutes, pressing volume down and power key for 20 seconds and for 2 minutes, nothing works. When I plug it in the notification LED blinks (just one blink) and when I press any key or any key combination the notification LED lights up(no blinking, continuous on) for 2-3 seconds and if I keep pressing the key for more than 2 minutes again the same thing happens first the LED turns on at 18 seconds and then at 2 minutes of pressing the keys.
i have the same same problem
heeeeeelp plzzzz ??
