[Q] sim unlock & imei change - AT&T LG G3

Hey everyone.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
to be perfectly honest my dad has a att lg g3. A few months ago he switched to Verizon
due to a very large bill. He was considering selling the phone but was under the next program.
which means the device was Was not paid off. So I told him instead of selling it to someone then in a few month have the imei go bad Let me see if I can unlock the device and changer the imei, that way
the buyer isn't crewed over.
If any one can help me with these steps it would mean a lot.
Thanks!

Changing the IMEI is not allowed, and so is all discussion about it as well.

D2G Unlock at VZW Support

I bought a D2G at eBay. I love it but I live in Hungary and I can't unlock it. Can anybody unlock it for me in USA by VZW Support if I pay every cost of unlocking (and plus money for helping)? It has clean ESN. I can send it to USA if it's required.
Please somebody help me!

You can buy a TurboSim off ebay item #200539432676 and it should work.
TurboSIM
Thank you for your advice, but I read it has few problems with D2G, so I want to unlock it by VZW.
send it back to d seller to unlock it
I tried it
I asked the seller about that but she refused it.
The device has to be active on a Verizon account that's in good standing. And the line it's unlocked on won't be able to unlock another phone for 10 monhts. I don't think you'll get too many takers on your request. TurboSim is probably your best bet?
Unfortunately
Unfortunately, the situation is bad. But I really pay extra cost for unlocking so if someone can help me to take extra cash, please send PM me.
I think I will order a TurboSIM, it's very cheap so I can try it.
Anyway, I got from UnlockCarrier.com 3 codes. 2 codes of them are 8-digit and they're absolutely wrong. The third one is 10-digit and the phone is thinking so much if I type it, but then the phone refuses it. Has someone got experience about 10-digit code?
The code should be 8 digits.

did her posting indicated the phone is unlock n can be use world wide?
or it is locked phone?
ask her to call on ur behalf to get the unlock code, provide her with d IMEI n IMEID
I can help, pm me..
Thanks guys
haroldz123: I ask her but she refused it again but she said she can refund my money if I send back the phone.
wirelessprofessional: I sent a PM!
"A hope? A chance!"
Hi everybody,
wirelessprofessional can't help me but he tried it (Thanks for it).
But the seller wrote a message to me on eBay if I want to send back the phone she refund my money. I was thinking so much on this offer, and I want to accept it but she wrote another message. In message she wrote that she may can help because she started to work part-time at VZW.
Can someone tell me, would it work if a verizon smartphone user got the esn for the phone, activated it on their line online for matthewKER while he still has the phone, then call verizon from some land line or still active phone and ask them to unlock the phone for a valid reason, then get the code, give it to matthewKER, he unlocks it, then reconnect your own smartphone back to your verizon line? I assume he wouldn't get service or be able to call or anything given that the phone is in hungary, though if it can that's the only risk I see in doing this.
Very interesting...
This situation is very, very interesting... After I sent a video to wirelessprofessional about my bad codes to refund his and my money (because he got same wrong codes), he sent an e-mail. He wrote in the e-mail that he activated my phone on his account and he got an unlock code from VZW. And there is surprise: this code doesn't work, too.
But it isn't end of the story... The seller is also trying to take an unlock code from VZW (she said she works part-time at VZW now) and she wrote me different things than wirelessprofessional. She wrote that she need the pre-installed SIM-card number to unlock method, and today she wrote that the assistant at VZW Global Support wanted to do this method step-by-step with her, but the phone is in Hungary so she ask the assistant how does she do it at home, but assistant said her that call him again if she can use the phone while she speaking on the other phone.
My advice if you want to buy D2G outside USA: DON'T TRY TO BUY LOCKED D2G. To buy an unlocked one with bad ESN is better choice than buy a locked one with clean ESN...
ben7337: Thanks for your post, I hope someone can unlock my phone finally.
same problem, who can help pm please
Santiss, I had a similar problem and ended up selling the phone and buying and unlocked one. I een got the unlock code straight fro ma Verizon Wireless representative and it still didn't work. I initially thought it was because I had to be within reach of the Verizon network in order for the code to work but that was not the case; the code simply didn't work.
My advice? Just get rid of the phone (sell it, return it...) and get one that's already unlocked. The unlock codes are apparently a matter of luck and not a safe bet.
I have unlocked two D2Gs myself online. I know of 3 others that were unlocked using the same site. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS SITE! I just have used them myself for several different phone models and they always work perfectly.
One of my D2Gs is a very recent new model, the other one was an early phone, both unlocked fine.
I strongly suggest that people try this site before giving up.
mobileunlockstoredotcom
I think it was around the $10USD mark the last time I looked. I got my codes within an hour.
Both my D2Gs are used worldwide on GSM networks and are behaving well. I just did the edit of the radio image that should remove the band locks when I am next in the US in a couple of weeks, that should be interesting!

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 Free Unlock - MM6 error

Hi guys...I wish I could post this question in the original thread, but I'm new and can't do that.
I've been following this board for awhile, there's alot of good info.
My issue is I've tried the Free Unlock method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2014982
But now I'm getting MM6 error when I try to insert a TMobile (Simple Mobile) sim card. I've verified that sim card works in a different unlocked phone.
I've searched that original thread for MM6 and nothing came up.
I've searched this forum for MM6 and it's a bunch of folks talking about the blacklist and calling out the OPs as theives.
I have recently purchased a Galaxy Note 2 off CL. Couple days later it cut off, blacklisted...insurance fraud by original owner. Long story short, I was able to get ATT to call the "original owner" and question him, at the same time I informed the person who sold it to me that my office where he delivered it has him, his car and license tag on video from about 8 different cameras....so the next day it was *off* the ATT blacklist . The phone has been working fine for the past couple weeks on a ATT PrePay Go account. It also works with my wife's ATT iphone sim.
Now I'm trying to unlock it to go with SimpleMobile, or Net10 on Tmobile's towers. I did the method listed in the thread above, but when I put in the simplemobile sim, it gives the MM6 error message.
I called ATT to confirm it's off their blacklist. I called TMobile to confirm it's off their blacklist.
Did I botch the unlock....is it now permanently locked to ATT? Maybe these guys fooled with it before I got it...Is it worth it to buy an unlock code at this point? What are my options?
Again, sorry I can't post in the original thread. Maybe someone that reads this can point one of those experts to this post.
Thanks for your help in advance
p.s. - if you read this post, see 'mm6' and immediatly reply that i'm a thief and should be banned....i'm going to slap yo mamma :silly: .
And for the record..that darn blacklist is stoopid....it dosn't help anyone get their phone back, it dosn't discourage thieves, it damages the used phone market which in turn inflates the new phone market....no law enforcement involvement is required to blacklist a phone, and there is apparently no law enforcement involvement in the US at all....and there is no enforceable process to legitimately transfer "full ownership" of a device to someone else....just stick it into a drawer and send another $600 of our GDP to China...GREAT!!!
It's like the original owner of my car reporting it stolen to his insurance company (after selling it to me) and then the car just stops working and no shop will fix it, and the insurance company pays him off no problem and dosn't even want to hear from me, and the police don't care because it hasn't actually been reported stolen...WTF!?! anyways...that's my rant....and now I can't unlock this darm thing...
Update:
I was able to call ATT and get the unlock code.
But when I put in the TMobile SIM, it's not asking for an unlock code.
I saw a video on Youtube where they swiped upwards from the bottom to show the screen asking for the code.
The ATT guy also said if I didn't see the unlock prompt, I could do it manually via the dialpad. He said enter a series of numbers and # * etc.:
#<numbers>*<numbers>*<unlock code>#
I did that and nothing.
I know from the 'Free Unlock' thread, that hitting the last # at the end is basically like hitting 'Enter' and it goes to the next screen.
But this just stays on the dialpad after I hit # and nothing happens.
thanks for anyone's help
Update:
Samsung support said they do not support fixing this issue. They said they will not assist at all with an unlocking issue, I need to ask ATT
ATT said they can't do it either. She said the 'unlock date' was listed as NA. Meaning the phone was not eligble to be unlocked. I re-emphasised that ATT gave me the unlock code. doh.
It's not asking for an unlock code. How the heck am I supposed to unlock it?!?

[Completed] T-Mobile Blocked my IMEI on used phone

Hi Im new here and needed some clarification regarding an issue with my IMEI on my T mobile Note 2. I bought it used back in June off of a facebook buy and sell group to fix it up and sell it. At the time I bought it, it had a clean IMEI, and the people who sold me the phone told me they were the original owners. a few weeks ago, I again checked the imei, and it was still clean.
Now Im about to sell the phone, but I check one more time and now its blacklisted on T mobile and Metro, but clean on ATT and Verizon according ti imeidata.net. I check tmobiles website and it says its been reported lost. Im going to try to contact the people who sold it to me, and if they wont help me, Ill be contacting Tmobile and Asurion. After doing some research about what else I can do, Ive came up with a few options, but I still need some advice.
1. Sell as is and cut my losses
2. Sell on ebay to someone outside of US
3. Sell for parts
If I sell it to someone outside the country, how do I know it will work wherever the buyer is? I have no intention if screwing anyone over and want to make sure they get what they pay for.
How can I protect myself from this happening in the future? Is there a way to get the IMEI numbers of future phones signed over to my name, even if Im not a customer of that phones carrier?
Also, if imeidata.net says its only blacklisted on Tmobile/metro, can it be used on other American networks?
I really appreciate any help with this. Thanks.
One more thing I forgot to mention...when I bought it, it was running android 4.1.2. I downgraded it to 4.1.1 to unlock it and its still running 4.1.1 incase the unlock procedure didnt work and I need to try again. Not sure if this is relevant to the imei issue but Im just putting it out there.
Hi,
If it's blocked, it's blocked. No one can help you with that legally. Sorry.
Whether it works in other carriers.... I would doubt it. Usually blacklists are across all carriers in North America.
And as far as protecting yourself in the future, you can't really. Buying a used phone is always going to be a gamble. Nothing you can do about that except try to buy from a reputable source or individual.
Good luck!

[Completed] Carrier unlock asap please help

I recently spent money that I REALLY didn't have on a Sprint Flex 2 because a friend of mine's friend claimed to be in a bind and needed urgent help and I knew my boyfriend had been wanting this phone and honestly, I'd been wanting his! However, after getting home with it I'd noticed it had a Google Account lock so I paid someone to bypass it, which was easy and worked like a charm... Then, I realized that it was Sprint and my bf has an att sim! I I contacted that same guy and for some reason his program just decided it wouldnt work with my computer anymore so wasted more money, I then found another guy and he said to go to swappa.com and make sure it wasnt blacklisted which it was obvious its not beacuse if my bf would habe sprint itd be working perfectly. I paid this new guy to get a new IMEI code for it and he hasnt answered me back and honestly i dont see how he can claim it to b blacklisted, but anyway i need a carrier unlock done like YESTERDAY!!! PLEASE HELP!!

Note 5 Sprint unlock options bought off facebook.

Hey guys,
im getting mixed signals from alot of the posts on here. I feel their should be a sticky on this subject. I spent a few days trying to hunt down a note 5 I could move over to metropcs and got it all rooted assuming that would be the hard part.. Well its telling me unknown sim a sign that its still locked, the IEMI checks out as clean ect. What chances are there of sprint unlocking a devices that your not the original account holder for? She left her original sim in the phone so I do have the account phone number but not the pin. I this something I need to go back to the owner about and have them do it(if they will). i've attempted to find reviews for 3rd party unlockers however this kinda looks like it falls into a grey area... Any advice would be great.
### Update 3 days total of effort ###
I ended up getting the lady I bought the phone from to transfer ownership of the pin on the sprint account over to me. Without that Sprint will not work with you period, idk why the can just say yep that IEMI is clean here is the unlock push. Ahhh and getting the phone unlocked took talking with 6 agents over a day and a half. When they say okay It should take a few days for you to get the update, thats a lie... Go under System updates and find UICC unlock and press it. If you get a 407 error they ****ed up on their end. Call the next agent, or better yet international chat. Keep hitting that button until you get something about phone has been carrier unlocked ECT.
Good luck this will be a process I never do again. Its not worth saving $300 for the time and effort involved.
