D2G Unlock at VZW Support - Droid 2 Global General

I bought a D2G at eBay. I love it but I live in Hungary and I can't unlock it. Can anybody unlock it for me in USA by VZW Support if I pay every cost of unlocking (and plus money for helping)? It has clean ESN. I can send it to USA if it's required.
Please somebody help me!

You can buy a TurboSim off ebay item #200539432676 and it should work.

TurboSIM
Thank you for your advice, but I read it has few problems with D2G, so I want to unlock it by VZW.

send it back to d seller to unlock it

I tried it
I asked the seller about that but she refused it.

The device has to be active on a Verizon account that's in good standing. And the line it's unlocked on won't be able to unlock another phone for 10 monhts. I don't think you'll get too many takers on your request. TurboSim is probably your best bet?

Unfortunately
Unfortunately, the situation is bad. But I really pay extra cost for unlocking so if someone can help me to take extra cash, please send PM me.
I think I will order a TurboSIM, it's very cheap so I can try it.
Anyway, I got from UnlockCarrier.com 3 codes. 2 codes of them are 8-digit and they're absolutely wrong. The third one is 10-digit and the phone is thinking so much if I type it, but then the phone refuses it. Has someone got experience about 10-digit code?

The code should be 8 digits.

did her posting indicated the phone is unlock n can be use world wide?
or it is locked phone?
ask her to call on ur behalf to get the unlock code, provide her with d IMEI n IMEID

I can help, pm me..

Thanks guys
haroldz123: I ask her but she refused it again but she said she can refund my money if I send back the phone.
wirelessprofessional: I sent a PM!

"A hope? A chance!"
Hi everybody,
wirelessprofessional can't help me but he tried it (Thanks for it).
But the seller wrote a message to me on eBay if I want to send back the phone she refund my money. I was thinking so much on this offer, and I want to accept it but she wrote another message. In message she wrote that she may can help because she started to work part-time at VZW.

Can someone tell me, would it work if a verizon smartphone user got the esn for the phone, activated it on their line online for matthewKER while he still has the phone, then call verizon from some land line or still active phone and ask them to unlock the phone for a valid reason, then get the code, give it to matthewKER, he unlocks it, then reconnect your own smartphone back to your verizon line? I assume he wouldn't get service or be able to call or anything given that the phone is in hungary, though if it can that's the only risk I see in doing this.

Very interesting...
This situation is very, very interesting... After I sent a video to wirelessprofessional about my bad codes to refund his and my money (because he got same wrong codes), he sent an e-mail. He wrote in the e-mail that he activated my phone on his account and he got an unlock code from VZW. And there is surprise: this code doesn't work, too.
But it isn't end of the story... The seller is also trying to take an unlock code from VZW (she said she works part-time at VZW now) and she wrote me different things than wirelessprofessional. She wrote that she need the pre-installed SIM-card number to unlock method, and today she wrote that the assistant at VZW Global Support wanted to do this method step-by-step with her, but the phone is in Hungary so she ask the assistant how does she do it at home, but assistant said her that call him again if she can use the phone while she speaking on the other phone.
My advice if you want to buy D2G outside USA: DON'T TRY TO BUY LOCKED D2G. To buy an unlocked one with bad ESN is better choice than buy a locked one with clean ESN...
ben7337: Thanks for your post, I hope someone can unlock my phone finally.

same problem, who can help pm please

Santiss, I had a similar problem and ended up selling the phone and buying and unlocked one. I een got the unlock code straight fro ma Verizon Wireless representative and it still didn't work. I initially thought it was because I had to be within reach of the Verizon network in order for the code to work but that was not the case; the code simply didn't work.
My advice? Just get rid of the phone (sell it, return it...) and get one that's already unlocked. The unlock codes are apparently a matter of luck and not a safe bet.

I have unlocked two D2Gs myself online. I know of 3 others that were unlocked using the same site. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS SITE! I just have used them myself for several different phone models and they always work perfectly.
One of my D2Gs is a very recent new model, the other one was an early phone, both unlocked fine.
I strongly suggest that people try this site before giving up.
mobileunlockstoredotcom
I think it was around the $10USD mark the last time I looked. I got my codes within an hour.
Both my D2Gs are used worldwide on GSM networks and are behaving well. I just did the edit of the radio image that should remove the band locks when I am next in the US in a couple of weeks, that should be interesting!

Fully unlock Tilt

Hey all,
Nice forum here, plenty of good information. I've got a basic question. I've searched (here and google) and I'm pretty sure I get it but I just want to confirm before I make any purchase. I want the HTC Kaiser but the price difference between that and the Tilt is about $500 (I plan to upgrade contract anyway). That's just too much to justify for the same exact device on a college student's salary. I do need it to be unlocked though. So, if I understand correctly, it is possible to fully unlock this phone like this:
- For the SIM unlock call ATT and get them to give you the unlock code. Since I've been a customer for 5 years or so that shouldn't be a problem.
- For the CID unlock, run the HardSPL found on the sticky in this forum and then flash with a standard HTC ROM.
That's it, the phone is fully unlocked then, right? It won't be locked again, it won't be killed over-the air, etc... Again, I'm really sorry if this is repeated information, I just really want to be sure before I buy anything. Thanks for understanding.

1. If you're an AT&T customer, you won't need to SIM unlock the phone with the Tilt. But if you want to switch over to T-Mobile, then yeah, you can try calling AT&T and ask for them to for the unlock code.
2. Yep.
Hope that clarifies things.

I can verify that, I also unlocked tht Tilt, and am a T-Mo customer, ofcourse my first carrier was ATT, then Tmo, then Cingular and now am on Tmo for the past 2 years, so my info was already there.
Hey guys,
I just got an AT&T Tilt from ebay and getting shipped to Australia - can i call up AT&T and ask for it to be unlocked or is there a SIM unlock program that can do the job?
OK, I got the phone. Two more questions before I do this:
I downloaded RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.11_Ship.exe. Once I run HardSPL, do I just transfer this file to the phone and run it and it will flash to stock HTC firmware or is there something else? I was a bit confused by all the other ROM's and files on this forum.
Also, before calling AT&T, do I need to have a SIM from another provider to do the SIM unlock or no?
no dont transfer the file to your phone. download it to your computer, establish an activesync connection, and then run it from your computer. make sure you follow the instructions in the sticky. good luck, the htc rom is much cleaner and quicker than the atnt rom

You don't need another sim until you get the unlock code from AT&T. Once you do, put the other sim in your phone, boot it up, and enter the unlock code. It will say passcode accepted and your phone will be unlocked
Just got off the phone with AT&T (1-(916)-843-4685). I told them I was taking a trip to England, gave the IMEI and got my unlock code. So now I've got a fully unlocked phone and saved $500. Very nice.

Exactly how I got mine unlocked. Free is good
Just a question, Did you get your unlock code while still on the phone?
In other words, they gave you the code right away!
or you have to way a couple a days to get the code?
I did the same one time with TMO and have to way a week to get the code.
I just called ATT and they got all my info and told me that htc will email me the info in a week.
They gave it to me while I was on the phone. HTC has nothing to do with AT&T's unlock codes. Did you call the 916 number posted above? Call again and get a different rep who knows what they're doing!
I've tried calling that ATT number multiple times with no luck.
I am a TMobile customer and have never had ATT. The first question they ask is for my account information. I tried calling back 5 times and spoke to 5 different people and they all want my account info.
If anyone here can do it I would greatly appreciate and i'd even paypal you some money for being able to pull it off.

Thanks, I called the number and told them that I am going over seas, got mine unlocked. Will take a few days after AT&T puts in a request to HTC for the unlock code. They'll send it via email.

Yeah, it took almost a month to get my V551 unlocked - between "misrouted" support requests, improper account information, and whatever real delays exist in getting codes from Motorola.
It's quite interesting that most Tilt people (myself included) have gotten codes immediately vs having them e-mailed - as had been ALL my previous experience.

No one can help you because AT&T customers have to add the IMEI number to their account in order to get an unlock code. Get on ebay and purchase an unlock code for ~$15...

ME TOO CALLED TO AT & T They Gave me the number
Better,
Call AT&T and ask them to do it for you. They are required by the FCC now to unlock phones "for overseas travel". Here's a snippit from an article I read on this:
"I called Cingular’s International Care Center at (916) 843-4685 Tuesday morning and spoke with a customer service representative, who confirmed that I could unlock all my Cingular phones for international travel. To unlock my Blackjack, I read him my International Mobile Equipment Identity, or IMEI, number, which can be found on the product box or by entering the code *#06# on the Blackjack’s keypad.
After I read him the IMEI, he processed it through the computer and gave me an unlock code specific to my phone. He then instructed me to power down my phone, take out the Subscriber Identification Module, or SIM, card and power it back up. Once the phone rebooted, I entered in the code #7465625*638*, which brought up the prompt: Enter Network Control Key. I put in my unlock code, and the phone returned the message: Successfully Disable Locking Status."
I only did this for my old Blackjack, but I understand you can do it for a Tilt too. I had to call a couple times before I got someone who would give me the code with out a "3 day wait period". Try it and let us know if it works for you.
Hi guys, new person here, I have to say your forum is the best forum I've seen about this stuff, just fantastic!
I called AT&T, they told me the ATT tilt is so new they don't have the unlock codes yet,.. which I believe is bull...
But anyway if you know something more please post it...
I'll call back tomorrow to see if I catch someone off guard.

Call at night and just call a few times. You will get lucky and find a good person that feels bad for you and gets you the code. They are lieing when they tell you that they do not know it. I think I called in 4 or 5 times and finally got lucky. They gave me this line that it would take 48 to 72 hrs for someone get in touch with me. BS its been more than 2 weeks and nobody has called me. Luckily I got my code the day after I got my phone.
Good luck
ahhh
liers!!
I got them
I was lucky this time, I spoke with a very sexy girl and also she gave me the unlock code. hahaha
I almost get her phone number too hehehe...
but well, I am happy enough with the unlocking code.
but she said: I have to put a sim card form a NON cingular/AT&T provider in order to put the unlock code, is that correct, or I can do it with no sim card on it??
thanks guys, it is amazing how the people form the phone companies lie...
the guy that lied to me had no reason to do it he did not get any comission for not giving me the code...
what an A**
well, good thing for all AT&T Tilt at least
sorry, now what is this good for? does this allow me to reinstall new roms and stuff? or just use the device with different sim cards and I still have to do all the installs from the stickY?

I am an AT&T customer for over 10 years, when I called them for the unlock code, the guy (with Indian accent, probably not located in U.S., I called about 1:00 am in the morning Pacific time) told me he had to check my payment records .... my subscription plan .... computer was down ..... wait ...... wait ....... and told me he would call me back ........ left him a phone number !!?? .... all Bxxx Shxx.
I pay about $80 to $100 on AT&T mobile phone bill every month. The phone can be unlock by someone on the web. The Tilt was about $450 with 2yrs. service contract.
I just told the customer support guy to fxxx off and then looked for someone on the web to unlock my phone.
Within minutes I found a link that unlock the phone for $15. I received a thank you message along with my unlock code within 24 hrs.
Why people just want to save a few bucks and willing to pull out kneel pads and willing to lick someone's behind is beyond me when putting all things in perspective.
I guess I saved myself $15 for a 3 min phone call with a nice girl.

Suggestions for Unlocking problem

Hello All,
Recently got an ATT branded 8X and so far, with a few minor issues, I love it. That said, I have a bit of a problem with unlocking. I purchased an unlock code from *htcsimunlock.com and then inserted my TMO UK sim. Phone booted up and then it asked me for the unlcock code. I enter it and it comes back as a sim error. I tried this with a TMO US sim too and had the same result. The company will not return my emails either so I am not getting much luck on that end either (buyer beware).
So, I thought I would come to the one place I always seem to get answers, whether I like them or not :crying:
Ideas please? Cheers.

Unfortunately, they sent you the wrong unlock code. The code is associated with the IMEI of the phone, not the SIM card.

Thanks drtolson. I realize that the the IMEI is the basis for the CU. My problem is after it asks me for the unlock, I get an invalid sim error message. I think you may have misundertood my question.
I have tried repeatedly to contact them but they just ignore me. Not cool I know but thats the fact of it.
The only thing thats related here is the fact that both sim's have been TMO. I can't imagine it being an issue and it has not been with all the phones I've unlcoked before... I'm stumped.
The reason that you are getting the invalid sim error message is because the unlock is not working, then it detects that the sim is not an AT&T sim and says that it is invalid. You need to get the right unlock code. And get a refund for the wrong one that they provided you.
Never use any imei unlocking services!
99% of operators lock the phones by themselves due to a huge leakage at the manufacturer's side.
So i, as an unlocking expert for last 20 years, advise you all guys NOT to use any IMEI based services.
Most of the unlocking websites are offering a wide range of unlocking services based on your IMEI number, but for last 3 years, the amount of successful unlocks via IMEI is greatly dropped down to 1%. So if you got your phone unlocked by IMEI today it does not mean that the next phone will also be unlocked.
Moreover - nobody will return you the money before they earn enough, most of them are buying the codes same way you do but in bulk and before they get enough to cover what they have spent to get it - no returns Sometimes no returns at all.
It's a huge cheating and a gamble. The feedbacks they leave on their websites are written by themselves. And there are lot of tricks you guys don't know.
So just DON"T USE IT!
Use online unlocking solutions where you can see what is happening and for sure there is a person behind the unlocking software, so at least you have a chance to return your money.
Spread it.
Regards
Certainly seems like I'm the victim of a scam here. Now I have to decide if the $15+/- I've paid is woth all the aggrevation and time of a charge back. I hate being rooted if you know what I mean...
I've tried to contact these guys three more times since this post all to no avail. Please guys, keep this in mind if you're looking for an unlock. Don't use w.htcsimunlock.com/.
Perhaps we should have a sticky of unlock guys we know to be legit. What about you maxrfon? You have any way to unlock an 8X?

The chance to get the right code is based on the professionality of the service you use... a good service offers you fully refund if you send in Video with the missing functionality of the code.

You know, now I'm not so sure... I also had a Lumia 900 and the battery went. ATT replaced it with a refurb and since my original phone was already unlocked by them they gave me the unlock code for that one too. I could never get it to work so I got on the phone with customer service. They took me through the steps and they could not get it either. They sent me another one again, warranty replacement and gave me an unlock code for that too. That didnt work.
Today I read this post on the Lumia forum; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2056808 I tried it and it worked. It unlocked my Lumia. I think I'll try the 8X tonight and see. If it does get unlocked, I'll let you know.
I have nothing to lose by doing this now.

Yep. Same thing here Loshme. Didn't work so now I'm pretty positive I got a bum code. Buyer beware!

Should I say that I have bought another code at different site, and still no go! I think that some providers changed unlocking codes for our devices.

T-Mobile Note 5 on AT&T

I'd like to get the T-Mobile variant so I can root and install a custom recovery (curse AT&T). I'm just curious if anybody has done this yet without any drawbacks before I pull the trigger (good LTE speeds?).

Yes, there are many Note5 owners using at&t who purchased from T-Mobile (model SM-N920T), got it unlocked and using on at&t without issue. getting it unlocked is the painful part; T-Mobile uses an app embedded in its ROM to SIM unlock their phones. 3rd-party unlocking sites won't work. T-Mobile unlock prerequisites (summarized from website and my conversations with customer reps): (a) paid full price for phone, (b) phone is used on T-Mobile w/post paid account for 30-40 days or (c) open a prepaid account, deposit $100, use phone on T-Mobile for at least 3-days (so it shows up in their system). some of us have been lucky enough to get the SM-N920T SIM unlocked without meeting criteria (b) or (c). a coworker purchased the T-Mo Note5 and used a post-paid account for 1 week, called in to cancel service and the rep got his device permanently unlocked. search this forum for more details. i requested and received a temporary unlock approval within 48 hours of getting the phone, but for some reason it wouldn't work. 4 days later i called in to complain, got connected to a tech rep who couldn't get it to work and finally got a manager to authorize a permanent unlock (vs. the approved temporary unlock granted). Good luck!

Oh wow, thank you for that informative response. I had no idea third party sites wouldn't work. I just came back from purchasing my T-Mobile Note 5. I purchased it from Craigslist and the seller showed me their Costco receipt. I have a friend who works for T-Mobile, but I doubt he'll be able to assist since he works in the actual store (sales rep). Do you think I have a chance at getting b and c bypassed? Not sure what kind of excuse to use.
Thanks again for your input.
Edit: I'm guessing you got the T-Mobile variant for the same reasons I did?

Yes, i always get the T-Mobile version for use on at&t so i can root and enjoy!
did the seller pay full price for the phone? personally, i'd ask the seller for a receipt. best way to find out if it can be unlocked is to call t-mobile and tell them you'd like to unlock for overseas use. the fact that you don't have service may help get it unlocked. they should ask for the IMEI (to confirm it's T-Mobile and that the phone is not blacklisted) and then submit an unlock request. if you're lucky, maybe they can unlock over the phone. good luck!

Haha, I don't blame you.
Well, it looks like they used the Jump! service. They gave me the service agreement sheet (I took a picture of it) where it displays the IMEI, plan, store location, etc. Should I refrain from mentioning I'm an AT&T customer? I don't think I'll be able to say I need it for international use because I don't have a T-Mobile account for them to look up.

i'd open the "Device Unlock" app and if you're presented with 2 unlock buttons - one for Permanent and one for Temporary - then the phone is SIM Locked. if you open the app and a message says the device has been permanently unlocked, you're good to go. pop in the at&t SIM and you should get connected to at&t service.
if it's SIM Locked, when calling T-Mobile, i wouldn't say anything about at&t, maybe mention it was a gift. before calling T-Mobile, however, if the phone is a Jump! purchase then you/seller needs to confirm the phone has been paid for in full, e.g., there's no outstanding balance due. if there's an outstanding balance, you might not be able to get it unlocked. i'd ask the seller if the phone has been paid off.
I tried that, but it said "Unlock Failed" (for obvious reasons I guess).
I spoke to a T-Mobile rep and he said they would need the original owner's account information to verify everything, which I obviously don't have. I asked if a manager can override that and he said no. I searched Cell Unlocker and they gave me a quote surprisingly (http://www.cellunlocker.net/order-code-step-2.php). It's at $49.99, which isn't cheap, but I think it's my best option. If they're advertising it, then it should work, no?
Edit: added an attachment.

i tried them as well and got a refund. don't think it will work. did you see this message on the website: WARNING: Your device must prompt for a network unlock pin after restarting with a non-accepted sim card. If your device does not prompt then you do not require our services. If your device has a Device Unlocking App installed (T-Mobile/Metro PCS) please.
i think your only option is to contact the seller and let him know the circumstances (you want to unlock for T-Mobile) and ask him to help you out. Good luck, bro...

Question S21+ T-Mobile locked issue

I jumped on the S21+ T-Mobile variant as it was offered with extra $100 off, cheaper than unlocked. I assumed the phone would be able to be used on any carrier since it would be fully paid off. But inserting my Verizon sim, I'm greeted with it saying the sim is unlocked and a reason code 132. Anyone have any ideas on what's going on, what I should try, or just return for unlocked version?
Try calling T-Mobile for the unlock code. I thought phones in the US weren't locked anymore or maybe they won't be in the future. Good luck!

Thanks. I'm working with T-Mobile now, and they have suggested that I make a T-Mobile account then try to unlock it. Hoping all goes well
T-Mobile can't even *see* the phone to unlock it if it isn't attached to a T-Mobile SIM, so they won't be able to unlock it (nevermind willing) without that. If you can get one in there, you might be able to use 'team of experts' through Facebook or Twitter and have them unlock it, they're pretty good about working around normal limitations when you explain situations to them. We were able to get a still on EIP iPhone unlocked when we were in the Philippines by letting the TES agent know we were wanting to put a local SIM in, I would hope they'd be willing to work with you if you let them know you didn't realize it would be locked.
Will eat into your $100 discount some, though, with the risk that they tell you it still has to be active on T-Mobile for 45 days. I've always had good luck with them, they seem to be more capable of independent thought than a normal call-center person, provided you're calm with them.

Were you ever able to solve this? I have exact same thing going on with a Galaxy Tab S7+ that was bought directly from Samsung. Thought was too be unlocked but it's locked to TMobile. Strange thing is 3 different stories from 3 different TMobile reps. Phone can't be locked since you bought from manufacturer. Yes we can unlock it. And no we're can't unlock it until you've spent over $100 with prepaid fees lol.

Yes. Actually it was pretty straightforward, I sent a message to tmobile T-Force on twitter and I provided my imei and they said it would take up to 72 hours to unlock. And they followed up with me notifying that it should have been unlocked. It works, using service on verizon now
Was it @TMobileHelp that you actually tweeted
Download tmobile device unlock app from playstore and try unlocking.

So thank you for the suggestion. The Twitter TMobile contact was the secret. After hours on the phone with T-Mobile support (and without being super critical they were just NOT very knowledgeable .... I think I knew more than they did) the Twitter alternative was quick and easy. They added the IMEI to their system and I was unlocked in less than 24 hours.
