Hi everybody!
I'm new to this forum but since i've heard lots of good things about it, it really hope you lot can help me!
My oneplus is not starting anymore, not with the power button nor by double tapping.
My battery level was at 73% so it can't be empty...
Has anybody encoutered this problem?
Does anybody have any tips or tricks to help me?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I've also tried to "force reboot" (holding down volume + power) but it doesn't do anything..
EDIT2: My OPO is standard, no custom rom or such. Just, yesterday I got a standard update.
ONeplus not starting

Have you tried connecting to a charger?
I rebooted mine the other day and it wouldn't come back on, had about 60% battery as well. Connected to charger and that brought it back to life. Though usually when the battery has drained and it needs to be connected to low power USB connection to trickle charge and get charge back in the battery. Had this happen with other devices, so not OPO specific.
Same problem
I have same problem. My oneplus is not starting anymore. My battery was 80%
Now I can't start my mobile
Thanks in advance!
Oneplus Not Starting
HI,
I used the power cycle option (Power cycle the One by holding the Power button for 20 seconds 5 times.) and it worked for me.

When you plug it in, does the charging light come on?
How long have you tried holding the power button for? 10-15 seconds should give you a full reboot...but if nothing happens then it could be frozen, in which case you will have to let it sit until it drains.
no power
yes..when i plug it in the red lite is on...i have held the power button for 10 to 15 seconds and tried power plus volume up..still nothing
I second the "Letting it sit until the battery drains" worked for me once.
how long
thanks for the quick reply..one last ?...how long does it take to drain battery completely?

Depends on how much charge it had to begin with. I would guess about 10-15 hours with full charge. If you get really impatient and dont want to wait, you can take the back cover off and push the reset button.

From 85%, assuming your battery stats are correct then I'm going to say it won't be drained fully until maybe tomorrow evening or night and even then it may still have juice. The problem is we don't know what state it's frozen in. Is it frozen with the processor speed reduced? Is it frozen because there's a rogue app and it's flexing the processor? No idea.
VS REALLY dropped the ball with not having a removable back plate as well as no access to the reset button.
Ah well.
Good Luck.
Try volume down then power button. This worked for me once.
let us know how it goes
You may of already tried this, but....
Did you try holding the power button for 15 - 20 seconds? If so letting it completely drain may be you only option left.
Update you ROM to one of the newer ones. I have read of this happening to others running one of the older ROMs.
problem with power up on gtab
i solved the problem with the gtab not powering up ...
remembered i was still within exchange period and
came home with a new one ..
once again...thanks to everyone on this great source of
help to those of us whose brain slips into neutral once in

My phone was updated to the new version of android 5.0.2 and I used it normally there is no problem. Then, I charged it at that time battery level was 40% after I finished my work I used my phone, it stopped working and could not turn it on. I tried many times to press volume up and power button at the same time then reversed it but no response from the screen.
How should I do?
Problem with hardware?
Anyone used to have experience like this?
Please give me a hand to solve this problem.

May be there is some battery issue or battery is dead due to some reason. This happened with my friend's S5 and later we found that it was due to dead battery. There are less chances of any hardware failures still can't ignore it. I would suggest you to go to Service centre and ask their guidance. Most probably I think it might be the battery issue.
Hi everyone,
I read a lot this forum and always found what I was looking for to help me but today my searches didn't answer my questions.
So first of all, thanx all for your time and help.
My totally stock Nexus 5 D821 stopped to work yesterday.
It worked fine and went to sleep. When I pushed the power button to wake it up, nothing happenned. I tried all the "long press" and "press power + vol down" ... still no life in the phone. Not even a little "buzzzz" from the viber.
I thought the battery was dead (even I was sure the charge was OK) so I switch my battery with my son's Nexus 5. Didn't work.
Put my battery in his phone, the battery charges correctly and was OK.
So it's not the battery.
Switched all covers to make sure it's not them. Nothing changed.
Switched our motherboards, no change.
The power button ? May be but how can I test it ?
If you have any idea, let me know.
Thanx for reading.
Hi,
I updated my phone, rebooted, it was all started up, it was installing some play store app updates, then my phone powered off and I'm not able to power it on anymore... Not at all! Tried every combination of buttons to press for a long time. Really nothing helped. Phone is not charging... I'm having a bummer here... Somebody faced this? I can bring it to the shop and get a new one but... Yeah... I'd rather not...
Ow pls help me Xda!
Try vol down + power for more than 7 seconds
I tried everything... What solved it was my wireless charger. It had to charge a couple of hours to have only 12%. But I tried powering the phone back on and there he was!! Woop woop
Hi: I searched the forum but haven't found this issue discussed. Today my phone went completely dead. I had it with me off the charger for several hours while out for a Sunday drive. It was odd as it disconnected from the car bluetooth - I think that was due to power optimization turning things off. I still had over 90% battery. When I got home, I put the phone on the charger. An hour later, I went to use it and nothing. No screen, just dead. Holding power button did nothing. Yikes!!! I did a Google search and found discussion about this on the OnePlus forum. Apparently holding the Power button + Volume Up recovers the phone, and it worked for me. I am completely stock, no root, no bootloader unlock, latest version 9.5.9.GM21AA.
Any thoughts on why this is happening? Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Sorry to hear about your phone but it is something which is not new. It has happened to me twice in a span of three weeks and has happened to other people as well. Unfortunately no one knows the root cause of this particular problem but I am sure soon it will be identified and hopefully cured. I am rooted with twrp and running a custom rom and a few magisk modules. Sorry can't be of any more help, cheers.

There's a few threads about this had happened to quite a few people. Here's one of them.

I met the problem several time, VOLUME UP + POWER Button works. But it is really annoying.
I have this problem with 9.5.8 & Smurf kernel. But after disable mq io sched, everything is fine. I thought Oneplus fixed this issue. Hmm, they didn't.
