Has anyone had their jack repaired by Verizon? My phone works without any issues and my jack works for the most part but even the slightest tug on the cord and it slides out a bit and I have to reach down and push it back it. More annoying than anything else, but wanted to see if this can be fixed or if they would replace phone as I want to avoid that.

If you haven't already tried, I would poke the inside (not the sides, but the "bottom" (well, I guess it would be the "top" since it's on the bottom of the phone) with a needle and then blow it out with an air compressor or canned air. It could just be as simple as having some lint in it. Other than that, you can always get some bluetooth headphones or a bluetooth aux adapter (preferably with aptx codec) for pretty cheap if you don't want to send your phone in.
Thanks, for some reason hadn't thought of that. I actually have a pair of Bluetooth headphones already, just don't normally walk with them.

Gave this a try but same results. I'll have to pop into a store to see if it's just my phone or if its normal. In my other devices I have to give it a good tug. If anything will wait for the new Sunshine to make sure I am able to unlock again.

I just bought the skullcandy 50/50 headphones, the mic doesn't seem to work with the thunderbolt, if I pull it half way out the mic works but no sounds from the headphones, so are the pins in the wrong places? it's odd because I have and old pair of apple headphones for the first iPhone mic works with. Anyone know which headphones work with the thunderbolt with built in mic? Thanks.
I'm not sure if there is a list, but I have a pair of BeatsbyDre Studio's and everything works fine.

I have Skullcandy, FMJ's and they usually work well. From time to time I have your problem. But if I unplug and replug it works again.

It might be because they are iPod / iPhone only. says so on the packaging. I believe they have a slightly different plug that has an extra piece for transmission of the play/pause/skip buttons.
I don't think they will ever work for a thunderbolt... might want to return them. I have a Bose pair that works flawlessly, also the standard skullcandy headsets will work fine.

Ok thanks guys.
I was watching netflix on the bus and all of the sudden my headphones stopped working. I exited out of the app to see that I had an HDMI icon in the notification bar telling be about TV out. I am running the latest pyroice desensed, and was under the assumption I had to install something to get TV out.

This has happened before. Firstly TV Out is not HDMI, its through the Mic jack. Second if you play around with the headphone jack and the hole it goes into, make them have wonderful electric sex, it will send a signal to the phone that a video RCA jack was plugged in. It must have dangled around. It happened to me before.
I haven't messed with the ICS happiness floating around yet, but what Sinfamy said about messing with it is sound advice.
It's a 4 pole connection, and if you get dirt, contaminants or even the oils from your skin (fingertips) on the metal contacts it could cause it to short out.
Pull out the headphones or whatever, wipe the connector off with some rubbing alcohol - let it dry!! - and try again.
Also, I don't know what's going on with ICS, but in gingerbread the tv-out signal starts as an HDMI signal. At some point along the way it's down-converted to an analog signal to pass over the RCA physical connections, and I haven't investigated directly where yet. But no question it starts as an HDMI signal.

I always watch movies off of my SD card. It's easier that way.

So here is the scenario:
The car I drive has an audio cassette and I've had the car for about a year now and I've been using a cassette / headhone jack adapter to listen to music, handle calls, and be told where to go by navigation lady. Been through a touch pro 2, my touch 3g slide, sidekick 4g, and this one.
Music bumps properly with slight variations with the quality, I keep the system volume down to half or less to avoid strain on the speakers. No problems there. Phone calls on the other hand; I always turn down the volume on the stereo unit and knock the in-call phone volume down a couple more notches so the person on the other line doesn't sound like a banshee being smothered with a pillow ripping out my speakers.
All my prior devices had no issue after I found that proper balance of course. Unfortunately this device does not play nice at all with my car audio. Didn't matter if I were on stock or any of the different flavors of ICS posted. Any thoughts?

If I had to guess i'd theorize that either the deck or the adaptor has noise reduction built in magnetically which could be causing a problem with the output of the phone, no idea why it would, through the stereo... or your stereo has recently developed a dirty head or (insert term for spinning thing that turns the cassette wheels that I don't remember here).
Or... the plug on your adaptor is not contacting the jack properly due to its not having a microphone pin as well and THAT is interfering with the sound.

Good day. On my lg p925 jack is broke. Plays only one side of the headphones but when you give it to the correct position - so sometimes both headphones work but it is very laborious. Is there any change to fix it? or need to replace the whole jack? it can be? how much would it cost? I tried to clean the jack but I did not see inside so I do not know if there's anything to mislead but I think that there is something broken inside

you probably have to get it changed completely nd not sure about the price different places ask for different prices
I have the same problem. It's not working because the end of jack (left headphone signal) does not touch the end of the socket. You can apply a tiny drop of tin on the end of headphones' jack (do it very carefully!), it works for me but the sound is not 100% clear.
2nd option: (just theory, I did not tried it): the bottom connector at the end of the socket can slightly bend up and down. You can disassemble the phone, open the socket and put something between the connector and socket's end, so the connector will touch the end of jack.
my jack is very loose and headphones fall
The jack is 3-5 dollars on eBay.
Buy it and open it up. Unplug the connectors. Remove the sim board. Now remove the exposed connectors. Remove the logic board. There you go , headphone jack is exposed. Now remove the old one , it is held in place by a double sided tape. Plug in the new one And close up. About as easy as peeing blindfolded...

Another option is to use a bluetooth stereo headset you would have to charge it everyday but if your not comfortable opening your phone up your could go this route.
sony makes a nice one and philips also I cant post links yet. just search stereo bluetooth headset on amazon.
I have that issue that when I slightly move the jack plug, my phone recognises it as pushing buttons on my headphones, so the player turns off a song or plays next etc.. It's really annoying, because I can't listen to the music when I got phone in my pocket. Do You have an idea how to fix it? I know I can disable the option :listen to headphones buttons" but I want to have it working like in the past.
I had the loose problem that they falled off and headphone acted as buttons too..But I found kinda solution..I never did put the headphones correctly in.. If you look at your phone you shouldnt see the connector. And It should make a click sound when putting in jack.

Anyone else have issues with any aux cable outputting a lot of static , my LG v10 did not do this, i have tried many cables this phone is so smooth I wish this didn't happen
Sent from my LG-H830 using XDA-Developers mobile app
same issue. Many people say you have to buy a splitter since it is not a cable problem. It has to do with the headphone jack and the 3rd band of the aux cable. I am hoping for a software fix.
Well my headphones work fine, so if you happen to run across and aux cable that works please post it !
Sent from my LG-H830 using XDA-Developers mobile app
from what I have seen you need a aux cable with volume control for the sound issue to not appear.
Sweet ill give it a try and report back if I can find one at a store near by!

My wife just got the G5 yesterday. Today she told me she tried to plug in her headphones (Samsung Earbuds with mic and Vol Controls) and she said the plug wouldn't fit. She's at work so I couldnt see what she meant. But has anyone had this issue?
Had the same experience, aux cord with volume, old Creative Labs computer speakers, no noise. Regular aux cord I use for everything, horrible interference.
Why is this happening? I'm gonna tweet LG
"It's not ideal, but I just tested it and it works. Basically there's a HiFi audio file that comes with the phone within the music app. All you have to do is play that file, then play whatever music either through Spotify or Pandora and the static should go away. I've only tested those two apps, and I didn't find this temporary fix I just saw it on a random forum. Hope this helps someone!" from reddit /u/Chris1671. It does work for a bit then the static comes back.

No issues using Wal-Mart bought cable to my truck aux input.. No issues using Bose QC-3 headphones. Also no issues using flat aux cable to my Logitech THX sub and satellite speaker system .
I'm still having issues with new aux volume control did you change any settings for audio on the phone ?
Sent from my LG-H830 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I had this issue as we'll, but it only seemed to happen on aftermarket stereos, like the JVC deck I have. Two cars I've tried with factory radios don't produce the static. One way to fix it (I haven't tried this way, but others have said it works). is by getting a "ground loop isolator". They're $10 or so from Amazon. My personal fix was by using the alternate 3.5mm jack in the back of my radio instead of the one in the front. I'm not sure why it works, but it does. So if you happen to have that secondary port in the back of your stereo definitely give it a try.
My radio is factory and makes the noise

I'd look into getting this ground loop isolator perhaps. Some folks over at Reddit said it works. I can't vouch for it personally, though. I guess you could aways send it back if it doesn't help the issue.

I'm very curious to hear what they say. This seems like it's a hit or miss issuse that depends on what stereo you're using. I think the people not having this problem just so happened to have a stereo that the G5 is "compatible" with. I tested a buddies G5 in my car (before I started using the rear auxiliary port which fixed my hissing problem) and both of our phones had static. Then we tried both of our phones in his car and no static. Certain radio systems and the G5 just don't mix. More and more folks will complain I'm sure and rightfully so. The next big question is whether it's hardware or software?...
Just bought a cheap aux cable and the sound is horrible. Had one from Walmart, and it worked fine.
