What is going on with ads on XDA ... How can I avoid this when I access XDA on my g3 with chrome? Please see attachments ..
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Those ads/messages have nothing to do with XDA Developers. It looks like you may have been infected with malware, I'd suggest running a comprehensive scan of your device.
Good luck!

The above link has info about what's going on and the information about how XDA can deal with the rogue ads that are being used on your site .. Most of the virus scan pop ups only appeas when the ad is on the page. Below are more pictures of the pop ups and then the ads. If you guys can please find the time to review the information it would be a great service to your members..
The article you linked to is not discussing XDA, so I'm taking that with a grain of salt. And, if what you're saying is correct then every single person who is accessing XDA via Chrome (or any browser) would be experiencing the same thing, but you're the only person who is reporting it to us. I use XDA heavily and I've never, ever, had a pop-up invade my screen while using the site on a variety of browsers on a variety of devices. I'll look into it for you, bit have you run a comprehensive scan of your device as suggested?

Hi, @dan0zone. After consulting with my colleagues it turns out there's a thread that's entire purpose is for users to report any intrusive advertisements, you'll find it here:
Intrusive ads? Post here!
Please post your question/topic there, that way it will be investigates apparopriately.
Good luck!

I have seen some open positions posted, but also gotten indications that there's no set policy, or the policy is under review.
I'd like permission to post some openings that aren't device specific (mobile device drive testing) and would like to know:
1. If I can post the positions
2. Where it would be appropriate for me to do so
Please feel free to delete this and PM me if this post is itself considered inappropriate and you wish to communicate some guidelines to me.
Thanks in advance...
Tim
I would also like to know the answer to this question. I have a position available in NJ.
Ditto
Any guidance on this? I am looking to hire somebody in SoCal for a mostly Android related job - ASAP. I'd love to engage some of the XDA community - as I deal with them fairly often...
Hi!
I'm a long time xda member, but posting under another user at the moment. I'm part of IcyApps.com ; Our website is showing previews for mobile applications that are coming soon to the different app markets. The whole concept is to allow the users to preview and follow upcoming apps.
You are more than welcome to check out the different upcoming apps, posted by the developers.
Please note that anyone can post apps for free, and we do not sell ad space.
We'd be really happy to post apps made by any xda members, if anyone is interested. (Already posted for a bunch of devs from xda)
Thanks!
(PS - please read before marking as spam: we do not sell anything, or even showing ads on our website. This message is for the xda community, and hopefully no rules were broken.)
HI everyone
I've been been blogging for ages via a Windoze NetBook - sorry for swearing and I use 'Blogger' as my platform.
Last week, I took delivery of my shiny new Transformer and have been blown away by 99.99% of it.
The 0.01% left is the poor selection of apps for blogging. I'm hoping someone here can give me a slap and point me in the right direction. I've been up and down the google play store and I think I've tried them all. I don't think my blogging needs are unusual, but there's no app that I can find that does ALL the following:
- Schedule posts
- Position photos ANYWHERE in the post
- Label photos
- Pick from my drop-down list of blog-labels (rather than have to guess what they are)
The closest I've got is the official app 'Blogger', but that won't let me schedule and it does an irritating thing of putting ALL added photos together at the bottom of the post - yuk! - Not much good for story-telling.
Anyone else a serious blogger who's got round this?
Thanks
Steve
I stopped blogging a while -- my private server got hacked, and got blacklisted by Google in the process -- but I think I'd prefer the browser interface. SInce you have a FullHD screen, it's not half bad. Although I was on WordPress, I expect the situation to be similar: the app was limited to say the least, and I had all kinds of plugins running on the side that were not supported by its interface anyway...
I'm using windows live writer in my blog hosted on Blogger. Not bad and is free. Give it a try.
U can have a look at my blog haroldchia.com. I used it to post my blog entries.

A good suggestion about the web version. But I don't think that allows me to create blogs OFFline. In other words, don't I have to be connected to the internet to use the full Blogger web interface?

Ah, that's new information. NO, I don't think you can actually use the online interface in offline mode - there's no facility to save posts locally.

Might this serve you (Googled it, to be honest):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=and.blogger&hl=en
It does have scheduling facility...

3rd in a row:
It does seem to have relatively intrusive ads. Here's the paid (ad-free) app:

Aaaannnnnd....we keep going.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vadel.blogpost&feature=search_result
(unsure if this supports scheduling!)
This app specifically states that one of its main points is placement of pictures in the text:

Looks nice!

Thanks!
This is a good app. When I installed it though, I couldn't find the schedule facility. Seems to look different on a Tablet compared to a phone
Cheers anyway - good call

We call this app, Saiko+. It connects millions of anime, manga, cosplay and comic fans together and socialize similar in Facebook. They can share, post and like posts and even make polls for fun. You can download the app from the website.
If you have tried it, please leave your comments here. Thank you
If you're going to post an app here, you need to post a link to where the app can be found. Stating it can be downloaded "from the website" is pretty vague. Please try and be a bit more specific next time.

Hi xda members.
My friend opened an e-mail attachement and all files were crypted by ransom32. Does anyone already encountered this problem?
If yes how have you solved it?
P.S.
If I write in the wrong section please apoligize me and move it in the right section.
Two weeks ago, my laptop was attacked by an ransomware. have all my files are encrypted - vidio and photo ((( besides, ransomware moved them. it was another blackmailer, not Ransom32.

Then my brother told me the site for the treatment of my laptop.
http://nabzsoftware.com/types-of-threats/crypt-file
The site has helped!
Now I make a backup copy of all files. It is important
It's true, a backup or a reliable defender is the only way
Most major security companies now have their own free decryption tools for different types of ransomware. I've found the whole list there https://malwareless.com/10-free-tools-to-defeat-ransomware-in-2017/.
Of course it's beter to make back ups of your files - it's the most reliable way to protect your data from ransomware
