Will you take a Tempered glass or Plastic on your Nexus 9?
The tempered glass very helpful for anti scratch but too heavy and thick.
Price of Tempered glass much expensve than Plastic one.
$17.9/pcs of Tempered glass in this store:oiostore meanwhile $10.9 of plastic one(Nillkin Glossy)
Price is $11.9~$16.9 on aliexpress.com, different seller offer difference.
For me, I don't like any screen protector on my tablet pc....
Tempered glass feels and looks so much better. And i doubt you'll be able to notice the weight difference.
Tempered glass all the way!
This is a good one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ode=as2&tag=fiabte-20&linkId=D2LUGFFLTS3RY4YJ

I order one similar to this and there's two hole on the protector, one on top and another at the bottom. Does your have an opening for the front facing camera and another one at the bottom?
I have a tempered glass protector on my S4 and love it. The feel is superb, is not prone to becoming dull and scuffed like the film type protector and simply makes me feel I'm swiping the original surface. Can't wait to get one of these on my N9!

This item is not actually glass...it's "a flexible urethane film."
Here's one I'm considering from IVSO, which claims to be tempered glass: http://www.amazon.com/IVSO-Ultra-th...r=1-1&keywords=nexus+9+glass+screen+protector

The link shows a glass protector for me "PLESON® Premium Google Nexus 9 Tempered Glass Screen Protector (2.5D 9H Hardness, Superslim 0.3mm)". In fact, both of those links appear to be pretty much the same thing (look at the product images with the hammer).

That's the one i ordered. it feels like any other tempered glass screen protector. but it's odd how there's an opening on the bottom of the protector. There's a opening for the front facing camera and a smaller one at the bottom. Not sure why there's one at the bottom unless there's some sensor i dont know about.

Orzly seem to make a good one, which is 0.24mm thick. Thinner than any of the links listed above.
tempered glass for quality experience
Just received and installed my Plesion tempered glass protector. It fits perfectly. The cutout is very close. So you better be extra tedious when you install it. The feel is excellent. Little to none finger prints noticed. Over all, im happy with it.
So my IVSO screen protector arrived finally, I got these:
http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00OMNEY1M/
Overall the cut is nice and is a good fit for the screen, albeit a bit tight with very little room for error. There is a nice cut out around the speakers, front camera and what I assume is the currently disabled notification LED on the bottom. I thought I messed up because I had many micro-bubbles under it after the application but those seemed to have cleared out after a few hours. The screen itself is not hampered by the glass in any way and my fingers glide across it perfectly fine. Time will tell how well this lasts but it feels solid.
I purchased this really early on when it was like 7 bucks plus 5 dollar shipping. The price has now gone up by almost 100% to 22 dollars and I'm glad I ordered it pre-production.
If you guys have any questions about it, you can ask me and I can try to answer as best as possible.

Have you seen the latest reviews for the screen protector? I haven't yet received mine and am worried that those claims are true and that it isn't real glass and more like a thick plastic. Like this one: http://amzn.to/1AbijlY

No i haven't seen them review. Perhaps the reviewer received fake item. I don't know but I'm sure mine is 100% glass.
Keep in mind these things are made and shipped from China. There is a good chance fake stuff got through distribution channels.

Lighter yes last longer I'd say no. I've had the same glass on my Note 4 for some time now and doubt I'll ever use the extra one I bought. Plus you can't beat the feel of the glass, the plastic doesn't feel right and snags your finger now and then. I would say plastic is better only if your looking at price alone.
What's the weight difference between a 7" plastic screen protector and a tempered glass one?
I have bought tempered glass screen protectors for all my past devices, but I decided to get a matte protector. It's nice not having to see fingerprints.
I also purchased the ArmorSuit plastic screen protector solely for the price, should be delivered today. I usually buy the glass but didn't want to spend close to the amount of the tablet on a screen protector.
Well I bought the SPARIN for $10.99. Thought it's not too expensive considering the tab was $50 when i bought it. I haven't got it yet, will update after installing.

I got the amFilm one from Amazon.
It was only around $8 and came with two protectors. I don't see fingerprints anymore which is nice.
Not to stoke any flames, but my opinion is that the glass ones I have tried all broke. Zagg, Ebay cheapies, whatever, i have broken perhaps five on various devices.
I went back to Zagg original rubber. I prefer teh orange peel for tactile reference. I don't want the input to be friction free. I want to know where the input is centered. I just want to prevent chips and scratches. Zagg and similar knockoffs work well for me.
I'm considering buying one because it seems like I am constantly cleaning my display. Which is the most smudge resistant, if there is such a thing?

An oleophobic one. But you will pay for it & the oleophobic coating can wear off in time. They also sell a liquid oleophobic coating you can apply but I understand it's not as good.

Hi guys,
So I have been using my otterbox defender case for some months now and I have had the unfortunate opportunity, many times actually, to prove myself why this brand sits on top of the list when it comes to rugged protection.
However, despite all this, I can't stand the screen protector that comes with the defender series!!
Not only its a pain to see through it when theres just a few dust, but it also marks every finger tip and most of the time, when I keep the S6 inside my pocket, the screen beneath the protector gets all wet from my sweat and I have to take out the case to clean it all, which is quite stressful on some occasions.
So my question is: Is there any tempered glass (preferably) that would fit in the otterbox defender case?
PS: Obviously I would have to unstick the otterbox's one first.

Someone please reply lol. I hate that the screen protector that comes with it is a super fingerprint/oil magnet. The natural oils from my fingers and side of my face when I make a phone call have me carrying around a stupid microfiber cloth just to keep this plastic screen protector clean. Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed to get a compatible screen protector.
Well, I guess no one has an otterbox defender after all.
And to the dude who who made the above comment, I suggest you washing your eyes. If any tempered glass would work on this case, I wouldn't need to create a thread on it, would I?
Anyway, guess I'll have to try on my own then.

Umm, so I have two things here for you. I actually cut out the plastic that was the screen protector of the defender and installed the 0.2mm iCareZ glass screen protector with no problem. Looking back at my hack job of cutting away the screen and sanding the plastic down, I don't like the look. I went and got an otterbox Commuter series case and it works just as well as the defender but without the belt clip. The screen protector fit perfectly in it. Just a suggestion.

Not the same at all man. I was using the plastic screen protector which got dirty quickly and easily. After installing the new iCareZ glass screen protector there are no more smears, smudges, fingerprints, or oily marks after talking on the phone. Not sure what it is, but this screen protector is the bomb!

No marks at all but always keep the phone in a pocket with no money, keys etc.
I always don't understand the screen protectors. Are there any protectors people buy and put on their expensive cars?
So no protector for me. Have a dbrand skin on the back mainly for the slippery problem (but it doesnt fix it), it helps with the fingerprint smudges.
but I use a slide in case on the go or a protective cover while hiking/etc.
I use a Diztronic TPU case and never use a screen protector. I don't carry my phone in my pants pocket, so I've never worried about scratches. Haven't scratched a screen yet.

Small Otterbox shell and screen protector. Every now and then I take the shell off, and admire its design.
Haven't used a screen protector in years. The gorilla glass is really food; the minor scratches that are barely visible after years of use look better than the static cling film on top.
For the time being I'm using zagg HD dry and otterbox symmetry but never break a phone or really damage one. I have a toastmade skin coming in soon for front and back so probably gonna take off zagg.

At this point, I've tried three different glass screen protectors for the G5. I've tried a Pleson screen protector, an iCarez, and a SuperShieldz. All three of them didn't adhere and I had to through them away.
Am I the only one with this problem? I mean, there has to be a way to protect the screen, but I'm just getting so frustrated. If you have the same problem, or if you found a solution, please let me know...
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the rant. I'm just getting annoyed with what should be a straightforward process.
I had the same issue with the Tech Armor (http://www.amazon.com/Tech-Armor-Ba...-1&keywords=lg+g5+screen+protector+tech+armor).
Ended up with an amfilm film protector. It actually sticks to the screen and works pretty well. http://www.amazon.com/Protector-amF...507712&sr=8-2&keywords=lg+g5+screen+protector
Still using it after about 2 weeks, and no problems have come up. Hope that helps

GPEL has a model on pre-order right now for $25 ($30 msrp I guess). It appears to be made expressly contoured to fit the G5 properly, was a video on Reddit in the G5 sub showcasing it. Might be something. This is a gorilla glass phone like all the rest of them though so you'd have to really work at it to scratch it, screen protectors are not necessary.
I would hate to go back to film protectors because i've been using them for years, but I'm seeing a ton of negative thoughts about the glass versions for this phone. Might be a good idea to sacrifice the quality so the screen can be protected.
I just went to the Spigen films and it works well, smooth with no issues with installation

Not the only one, my PET screen protectors don't seem to stay adhered for more than a week. Kinda annoying. Checking Amazon reviews, there seems to be a lot of these issues.
If you like matte protectors like I do, this one has been great. I had to replace it when the spigen case (the one with the chin piece for easy battery removal) I was using peeled it back, but both installs have been flawless. I now use the thin fit spigen with 0 issues.

Very easy to install, you would never know it's on,it matches the phone perfectly. No bubbles what so ever,it does not mess with the quality of screen images or color. It fits over the curved edges nicely. It has a little bit of a lip towards the bottom,by the LG logo, but not a big deal. I'd highly recommend this to anyone wanting a tempered glass screen. G-Color did a very nice job with this. It also sticks to the edges, ive had no issues.
