Hi,
My xperia s got the official Sony update to jb 4.1.2 and (ofcourse) I lost the root.
Is there any way to root my device again?
Bootloader cannot be unlocked!
Tried Bin4ry v30, but no result!
Can I flash from jb 4.1.2 to jb-prerooted? (bootloader cannot be unlocked)
Can I downgrade to ics and than upgrade to jb-prerooted?
Hope somebody has a suggestion/answer.
Thanks

How do you have 4.2.1 when sony never released it
Sorry, must be jb 4.1.2 (6.2.B.0.200)
OK, this is what I did.....
1 Use Flashtool to downgrade to ICS
2 Install RecoverX (FIXED) for ICS
3 Copy JB Prerooted to sd-card (don't unzip!!)
4 Reboot in recovery and install JB-Prerooted
5 Have fun!!
Thanks to everyone who made this possible.......:good:

Try with CF-Auto-Root from ChainFire. It contains SuperSU v2.36
Simply flash SuperSU 2.36 from a custom recovery.
Just flash any of the latest 4.4.4 recoveries and flash the supersu.zip

Now I'm confused. You said earlier that there's no need to unlock bootloader but this new link you gave me says I have to. What I'm asking from you is if this recovery here http://forum.xda-developers.com/t2-ultra/development/t2-ultra-xzdualrecovery-qa-t2823793 will also work on c3/kitkat without unlocking bootloader.
Yes or No?

Hey guys, I have a Sony Xperia M2 on Android 5.1.1 18.6.A.0.175 rooted with this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/general/unlocked-bl-root-sony-xperia-m2-android-t3214498 . Now there's a new update available fixing the camera and GPS issues. My question is should I do the update? Will my root be gone? Will it brick my phone? I don't know what to do, please help me! Oh and btw, I installed this with my custom recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...ashable-camera-blobs-morpho-settings-t3281766 .

You can't update your phone via OTA if the bootloader is unlocked.

Ok thanks for the quick answer. So I need to download and flash the ftf-file and root it after it? will my data be gone after flashing the ftf?
Just flash linuxct's updated camera files from this new update then swap the GPS file for the KK one update done.
