[Completed] [Q] Flashing cm to and. Rev. - XDA Assist

Obviously new here, have searched for hours to no avail, but I am sure its out there. I am running CM11 and want flash Android Revolution. I have read about all tutorials I can find. My problem is simple I am sure, i downloaded the zip file but cant save it to my card, never gave me the option. so when I turn phone off then back on with volume button, the option to recover with the new zip file is not there. How do I get the option to boot in And. Rev.?
Can someone point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
You need to specify your device make and model number so we can point you towards help.
Also, you generally install roms from a custom recovery with the rom file on your internal or external sd card. You said you downloaded the file, but the file is not there? Are you sure you are in your custom recovery? And browsing to the correct folder where the zip was downloaded to? Have you searched for it in your system with a file Explorer to see where it is?
If my ideas don't help, you can ask for help in the thread you downloaded the rom from, that is your best option. ?
Or your devices Q&A section.
Good luck!

Sorry, forgot to give the basics....HTC One M7 with T Mobile running CM11....I found the folder under the downloads section but says it cant open it....How do i get to custom recovery

Flashing it should be the exact same as flashing CM.
Here is a dedicated help thread for your device that you can ask for help in ,

[Completed] How to extract images from game files

Hello im not sure if this is the right kind of forum to ask this but, Ive seen someone extract images of cards from an android game, when I asked him how he did it he said he went into the games data files, which I assumed is in the Android > data > then the game files folder. I checked there however most of the files were in a format which the phone couldn't read. Is there a section here that explains this. Thank you
Hi,
More than likely you need to go into the .apk and use a tool to extract the contents. But to find a clearer answer I would advice to look here

Best of luck!

Use LG Flash Tool to flash kdz file to your phone. (Assuming your phone is LG)
Try to google “flashing kdz file on your phone model.”
There are a lot of guides out there.
Good luck!

[Completed] Restore full Android image through USB or repackage as flashable rom file

Hello everyone,
I have a Chinese clone of a Lenovo P780W (doesn't look like the actualy P780 at all) for which I wanted to find a custom ROM that would work but was unable to do so. I already have CWM recovery on it. Before I started thinkering with it I made a full system backup with some software, but unfortunately it was few months ago so I don't remember which method I used (I am assuming it was ADB but not sure). Anyway, the image is in a zip file and the contents is as below in the screenshot:
s8.postimg.org/qnck3pyw5/2015_10_25_15_45_38.png
My question is, how would I restore it now seeing how my phone won't boot up and CWM won't flash it. I tried ADB Restore and it's asking me to confirm on the phone itself. Is there any other way to do that or repackage that system image to a flashable zip format?
Thanks a lot!
Solved
It turns out this was the CWM backup. I managed to create a flashable zip by grabbing the boot.img, extracting the system.ext4.tar to system, and a META-INF from some random image. I combined it into a zip and it flashed.
Still would be nice to find a proper rom for it. Right now it's ALPS-JB3-MP-V1-6-MOLY, I wonder if a newer version of the ALPS rom would work?
Hi,
Glad you got it solved! As far as further questions, not much on XDA for your device. But you can ask questions here,

[Completed] Why am I unable to find a zip file in android (from laptop)?

I usually find no problem copying files from android to my laptop like everyone but there's a certain file I am trying to send to my pc but I can't find it in any way in File explorer. It's a zip folder but I usually have no problem finding zip files. What should I do?

[Completed] .backup file

Hi
I'm trying to restore my phone back to the standard settings using a .backup file that someone on the xda forums was kind enough to upload. The problem though, is that clockworkmod doesn't appear to find the file. I think I found the problem though.
CWM appears to have a different way of saving backups. Instead of just having a .backup file, it has a folder with the date I made a backup to test, and in that are the boot & system (etc...) files.
How would I go about solving this?
