[Q] p907a hotspot app with t mobile service - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently purchased an unlocked note pro 12.2 p907a and I can't find a hotspot option anywhere. I'm using a tmobile sim card but the only hotspot app that came with the tablet is for att customers. What apps are you using to generate a hotspot on your note? Also, I'm stock, not rooted.

You can try Wifi Tether Router in the Play store but its a paid app. Use the configuration settings (link in app description) for the Note 3 or email the developer. He responds very fast and will help you out if you cant get it to work.

Any progress on this? Just got my tablet with same question. WiFi tether requires root and I'm hoping to find non root option first if out there. Willing to root but just getting started here.

D2G 2.3.3 rooted tethering

Hi guys (girls?. I had problem to tether with my verizons d2g, running stock GB update 606. I'm in central europe running on gsm/edge. I've tried plenty of tether applications/widgets but non of them works. Is there some workaround which works?
There's a tethering hack for the droid 3
It should word for droid 2 G

Have you tried the built-in tethering app? It always worked for me great. May depend on your operator though.
Yes, I have tried original tethering application, also I tryied other tethering application which I found marked as working workaround - newer version of tethering.
On other side leobg - are you using gb or froyo? becasue as I checked, I'm not alone who have those problems.
The built-in app somehow doesn't work for me. Sure, it assigns IP addresses and such, but there's no traffic whatsoever.
You can try this workaround that functions state-side to bypass Verizon's blocking screen:
Start the built-in tethering app
Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Go into "Phone information"
Scroll to bottom and toggle "Turn off radio" until it turns off. Then turn it back on, connect your device and with luck, you'll be tethered.
idk if its the same as tethering or what you wanna do, but if you are rooted, look in the marketplace for an app called 'barnacle wifi tether'. it is a free app that turns your phone into a mobile hotspot
(hope this works, since im currently having issues with superuser and this app since i did the ota gb update )
Now did that actually work with the gb update? Or did you get stuck at the verizon "buy our 20 buck a month data package" like i usually get when i use that program.
No I didn't get barnacle to work on GB so I went back to froyo too. But now my bluetooth won't work

The builtin app works perfectly, android wireless tether works too choosing the droidX (not droid2) profile.
Afaik the Verizon lock has nothing to do with GSM tethering.

[Q] Non Rooted Verizon Galaxy Nexus wifi tether question

Was just wondering if anyone knew what if any repercussions there would be using the Wifi Hotspot and USB tether app from SVTP (from the Android Market) on a non-rooted Verizon GN. The app works great and was quick to setup but I am interested to know if I will be automatically popped into a Mobile Hotspot plan (which I do not have now) if I use it.
That being said would it make more sense to root my phone to circumvent these potential charges?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Verizon has recently adopted new changes in how it monitors for tethering and when unauthorized tethering is detected it redirects you to a verizon web page on how to order a tethering package. I have heard PDA net still works, you might want to check out Koush's tether app, reported to be undetectable.
I say either way root your phone, then load a custom rom many of them have work arounds for wifi tethering

[Q] Disable subscription check when activating stock hotspot?

I made the mistake of upgrading to 4.3 on my verizon s3 and now I'm in the process of rooting it. Is there a way to disable the subscription check for the stock hot spot after I root?
Bump! was hoping if anyone has a solution
Unfortuantely, I haven't figured out a way to disable the subscription check while activating the native hotspot. That said, there is a workaround available if you root your phone using saferoot.

Wifi Tether Router by Fabio Grasso. Method 3, everything else default.
I'm using fox fi again. I uninstalled my old foxfi and reinstalled from play store and it is working fine now. You have to set a lock screen now for it to work but other than that it bypasses the Verizon check.

[Q] Internet Access Problem

Hi Guys,
So I just got a Nexus 5 yesterday. I am with simple mobile. I put in the sim-card and set up the settings and everything was fine and worked great. I was able to access the internet all with no problems.
Now today I can't access the internet or any apps that use the internet I keep getting re-directed to a up sell t-mobile website. I tried googling it but all I can find is about a tethering block that t-mobile put in place. I don't use my phone for tethering and I have no idea to fix as the simple mobile support were useless, just the usual turn the phone on and off stuff.
Please Help!!

Hotspot not working on Pixel 4a, but does on Moto G6

Hi all,
Just like the title says, my Pixel 4a doesn't allow hotspot. It says "To use Mobile Hotspot, please call customer service to subscribe." But if I put the SIM into my G6, it works fine. Bought the phone from Google. My service is Verizon. I have the grandfathered unlimited data. Any suggestions? I was thinking of getting a new SIM card and seeing if that does the trick, but concerned that it may block the hotspot on my G6.
Found the answer to my problem. If you by chance checked the box to allow Verizon to manage your phone, you may need to reinstall Android and start over without that part selected. It's finally working.
