honor 6 Is it heats up
I would like to know if it heats up I'm talking about normal use are not playing
The only time heated up a little was when using google maps for about 54 minutes, that time it heated up, other than that it never gets hot in regular use. I don't play games so can't answer to that part.
Thank you

Thank you When you talk it feels cool ?And another question SpeakerHear you well you speak
Yes, other people listen very well when I talk, same other way. In hivoice it works very well too. With an ear speaker didn't tested yet, never used one.
The highest I've seen is 42 degrees..that is when playing asphalt 8 for some time when the mobile was on charge.. Otherwise the max has been 41 when I don't have fan or anything turned on in the room...and it gets back to normal temp really soon after we end intensive task..

Hello I would like to have some help I just bought my google pixel 5 "128 GB and with little use it gets hot I do not know why I formatted it and nothing .. I buy it directly from google store, some help? My previous one was a nexus 5 and I love it but very short battery.
:crying::crying::crying:
Check if it's being caused by a third-party app.
What are you doing with it when it gets hot?
I noticed mine gets very hot when I play JW Alive.. I currently have a Clear Rinkge case on it... is it normal for these phones to heat up so much during games? Should I consider a case that can help the phone breathe better or will it still get hot regardless?
Hello there!
So from today (After much waiting and checking the updater app) I can update to EMUI 5 (B360)!
But I'm a little bit unsure if I should update because many people have reported issues with it, will just factory reseting the phone after updating to EMUI 5 fix the problems or should I stay on Marshmallow until full Nougat comes out?

This is the only Nougat your going to get
And sure a factory reset is always good after a major OS update

I can confirm my battery life took a dive. I am now *charging* my phone when I drive home from work. I didn't need to do this before with MM. Sadly Huawei screwed up the battery life and no solution in sight.
Here are some likes and dislikes on it. I do suggest you read before you update. Once updated, rollback would require you to reset.

I personally can´t recommend it. Battery for me isn´t bad but I´m having a ridiculous amount of graphical glitches, bugs with notifications and sometimes apps like camera, can´t be opened on the lockscreen cause some lockscreen elements overlay and won´t allow interaction with the camera app until I restarted my phone.
Seems like people having all kinds of different issues, that others don´t have.
Really weird.
I have been running EMUI 5 since the UK beta ( about 3 months)
I have only ever put official OTA updates on my phone.
I'm having none of the issues with my phone.
No glitches, no lags no problems.
My battery life is excellent it lasts from 8am through to 7am the following morning and normally has about 30℅ left when I charge it each morning between 7-8am
I use my phone heavily all day and watch TV on it in bed every night for at least 2 hours
I'm very pleased with my honor 8

Battery is a tiny bit worse, but it fixed the NFC issues, so definitely worth upgrading (no more red lights 1/3 of the time rendering it useless on Transport for London services, and it can read a passport now, and an HK Octopus card consistently...).
A factory reset was needed after upgrading to fix some weird behaviour.

Updated, and well the battery is draining faster than usual but it drains about the same speed that it drained when I first got the phone.... But I believe that the battery will be back to normal in a couple of days.

I have updated and I must say, I really love the new features and that they fixed some of the bugs
Only glitch I've found is with the gyroscope. Only had the phone a day so not sure what it was like before the update, but this video suggests it only happened after updating;

Whether anyone else has had this problem?
Guys,
I haven't updated my H8 to Nougat because of the bugs with EMUI5.
Are the issues fixed? Are there still issues? Is so what are they?
Can somebody provide a honest opinion. Because the current EMUI4.1 is so good and i don't want to regret the upgrade. Thanks.
Emui 5 is far better than emui 4.1,but the battery backup is soon good in emui4.1

I heard there was a gyroscope issue. And what about performance and battery. Is there slowness in overall user experience?

All are good
If you're a heavy user and value battery efficiency more than having the latest Android firmware, then don't upgrade. I went back to EMUI4. 1 a week ago due to excessive battery drainage in EMUI5.
I used Nougat since it became available for the H8 and battery life was less than in MM and even worst with the latest update for the US version (B385). My screen on time went from 6 hours to barely 4 hours.
Also having to recharge my phone 3 to 4 times in a day was not worth it staying with EMUI5. I even rebranded my phone to use the L19's firmware (B389) but it was the same story with the battery in addition to loosing VoLTE and band 12.
But don't get me wrong, I do like the interface updates and the improvements in performance in Nougat. It's just that for me battery is more important.
Zero issues in B389, battery a tad better the MM versions. Never charge device more than 1x/day, sometimes 1x/1.5 day.

Thanks. Mine is Indian version. I'm a heavy user and battery life does matter to me. I was so tempted to press the update button but pulling myself out of it. I already get only 4.5 to 5 hours on heavy usage. So will skip the upgrade then. Thanks again!

Use i am also saying that emui 4.1 sucks less compared to 5.0 . Emui 4.1 is the best for battery but we want the new version of Android should have to leave the old one
Also in emui 5.0:
In lockscreen clean up disable apps to run in back ground . U can also get 6+
Rommco05 said:
Anyway if compare look betwen EMUI4 and EMUI5, emui5 is much better, looks a bit more stable and fast. Google security patches is newest how on emui4 and in future if want upgrade to Andoid O (hopefuly we got it) u will must anyway upgrade first to emui5 Nougat. Emui5 have lot of settings which can help improve battery life

I can't get security patches on MM Emui 4 unless I upgrade and that's sad. But the performance with EMUI 4 on H8 is truly amazing. I have never had a single instance of lag or slowness in the two months I have had this. Truly flagship device. Buttery smooth and I'm thoroughly enjpyong this beauty. I'm afraid this will not be the case once I upgrade. So let me stay with this till we get the news on Android O.

Personally, I wouldn't touch the EMUI 5 and Android 7 combination.
I did the upgrade long time ago (I think it was B360, and it was done automatically; I just had to touch a button that said "Upgrade", and kept prompting me for two weeks).
Battery had to be recharged every 2 hours, even without using the phone. Temperature was so hot that I had to put the phone in the refrigerator, honestly.
Many essential application were totally messed up or became useless, including the camera software.
Following a Huawie customer service rep in live communication to go back to EMUI 4.1 and Android 6 resulted in bricking the phone.
I sent it to their service center in Texas (per their instructions).
They found that the excessive heat had caused plenty of internal component deterioration, so it was useless to unbrick it and send it back.
Since it was still under warranty, they sent me a new one (with EMUI 4.1 and Android 6).
Service was fast and excellent.
I became a happy camper again.
EMUI 5 is most likely better than 4.1, but the problem of installing it is that you must install Android 7 as well.
I'm sure Android 7 is better and more advanced than 6, but it is not optimized for the Honor 8.
I would NOT touch that combination of EMUI 5 and Android 7 on the Honor 8 with a 100 foot pole!!
From what I understand, EMUI 5.1 is released.
That is my experience, and it is up to you if you decide to upgrade.

Thanks. I have made up my mind to stay with EMUI4.1 based on the inputs on this thread and yours add up to the list. When it comes to Android I always believe a phone works best only out of the box and any upgrade takes it a step back. I have had this experience with a lot of devices. So i think it's best to stay with the version that comes out of the box if you want to really enjoy the device. Because this is the version that was tested/ optimized/advertised by the manufacturer. Just my opinion... :good:

Maybe it happened with just you. You cannot blame EMUI for the trouble. Yeah I admit that it had some bugs at the beginning. Almost all the Android Phones get them at the beginning, even iOS. An year or two ago I had Galaxy Grand Prime and it didn't boot up after it's lollipop/marshmallow update. So I sent it to Samsung and they fixed it. @Cool_Man99 same as they fixed yours. And it's totally functional even today. Well my mom is using that now. And yeah maybe you faced the problem with your device unnecessary heating, so did I. My device also used to get hot while listening to music at night or maybe while i am in school. Also i was not able to install any 3rd party apps in it. As much as I remember they released some patches and I swear now there are no issues that I am facing. Ooh yeah, I never had the battery draining issue, ever. You can ask other people on the forum too if all of them faced issues like you. ?
@bala1701 maybe you did set your mind to stay but you can just give EMUI 5 a try. Then if you think you are having any issues you can just roolback. It's not that hard.

Yes sure I will definitely give it a try in the future. But as of now I am at peace with EMUI4.1/MM
@Saeem
No it didn't happen just to me.
Lots of people were having similar problems, and that was all over the Internet, including here at XDA and at Huawie forums and Support sites.
Huawie back then created a page with downloadable packages and instructions to switch back to EMUI 4.1 / Android 6.
As I had mentioned before, the battery drain and the excessive overheat were happening even without the phone being used at all, and with the screen turned off.
It wasn't even possible to turn the phone off, or to restart it. These soft buttons were messed up and not functioning properly.
Huawie did not fix the phone, as I had indicated. They replaced it with a new one. It was not fixable..
Glad you and your mom are having no issues.
You might be able to experiment with new software/firmware releases, but many people use the phone for business purposes, and other critical issues. In such uses they cannot afford to be experimenting with buggy Beta releases of software.
Such people use their phone to do things other than play games, text a classmate, or chat with their moms.
You will understand what I mean someday down the road.
Thanks for your input, though.

I'm playing on the note 10 snapdragon 855.. I ordered the Chinese version snapdragon so I can play perfectly on pubg.. The game runs like a charm with 60 fps on hdr graphics and extreme fps.. Recently maybe 3 days ago now the game doesn't run as smooth.. It looks like the game can't run on 60 fps anymore.. As if it's locked to 40 or 45 fps.. Tried reinstall the game.. Lowering graphics even tried other 60 fps games like asphalt 9 and no luck.. Only pubg not running as smoothly as it was.. Even I tried the gfx tool with all settings low except 60 fps and no luck.. Now it's even worse than my old note 9.. I tried the game on my friend's phone xaomi mi 9 with snapdragon 855 and it was running smooth.. I just got this phone like one month ago.. Anyone having same issue?!
I’ve been facing the same issue Nd I just couldn’t handle it so I read few options online.i tried one of them Nd it worked.try uninstalling update for game launcher and game optimisation service and update them again Nd restart your phone and clear your ram from device maintenance 4 to 7 times and it should work then. That’s what I did.if not repeat the process.the problem was dat it there was no difference between ultra and extreme fps..
Guys why not just get a Xbox or PS4 if your after gaming ? Think about it, it's not fan cooled the Note 10 + it's just a marketing play yeah you can play pubg or Fortnite but for hardcore gaming the note 10 + is not the phone to get.. it will lag or get a bootle kneck that you are experiencing! You need to get ASUS ROG Phone II or Razer Phone 2 that are manufactured with gaming in mind!
i do not agree, know some really good hardcore gamers without any keypad just plain smartphone display and are really good in WoT or PUBG or fortnite

Haven't you seen that video Snapdragon vs Exynos? Samsung CPU suck when it comes to gaming! They start to throttle bottleneck 10mins into gaming Samsung Exynos is the wrong phones to purchase if you are after gaming..
Quick question do you have face unlock enabled ? And what about finger prints? If to both is yes delete face unlock and disable it, same goes for finger prints delete them don’t use any form of locks. Then try gaming!
Let us know if you get a performance boost!

anyway.. can't find the option to uninstall updates for game launcher and game optimisation service.. how u did it?!
Im having the same problem here. My pubg seems like got locked at 30 to 40 fps after i update my phone, have you found the solution? I tried everything but i still cant do it.
Okay, quickfix which works for Exynos and may work on SD too. Essentially while in game, when the framerate begins to fall, press the home button or recent apps button, goto another app for a second and then come back to the game and things should run smoothly for a while. The reason it lags imo, is because of an age old throttling system on Samsung Devices called DVFS
Did u find any solution ? i have the same issue here. i did GPU watch so i found that in Graphic setting the Ultra and the Extrame are the same FPS which is 39-40 max. i tried Call of duty adn did the same .. i could get 60 FPS
so uninsalled the game but that didint fix it ,, so i contacted PUBG and see if they can help me..
Edit> i found it by accident
install Package Disabler Pro and disable the game optimizing service and there you go 60 FPS is back
feel free to thank me
I had the same issue. I fixed it by going to Developer options, scroll down to hardware accelerated rendering, and make sure Disable HW overlays is checked on. I have the t-mobile version note10, but I'm not sure of this matters.
I had the same issue with my Tab S6, also an SD 855 device. All i did was clear the cache of PUBG and now it runs as smooth as a fresh install. I noticed the cache was bloated to about 2gb on mine. Hope this helps. Update me if it works.
Thank you.

I had a similiar problem earlier. I eventually got frustrated and uninstalled PUBG.
Few weeks later, I found out the problem was in phone settings -> Device care -> Battery -> Power mode.
I had it set to 'optimized' which doesnt work well with the game.
The solution was to set the power mode to 'High performance '. Start the game and enjoy*
Hi,
I have been using my Xperia 5 III for a week now. Everything is well but the phone overheats when going about completely normal day to day tasks. Just the use of a slightly more intensive application like Uber heats the phone up.
When this happens, the screen automatically drops to 60Hz. I cannot seem to disable this 'feature'. While charging, needless to say, the phone pretty much stays in 60Hz for the first half of charging time due to overheating.
Is the above normal? I don't seem to see any background updates. I would not mind the overheating if the display would just remain at 120Hz. Will rooting or modding be able to overcome this?
Cheers!
not at my dayly use of the X5 III
just went hot at first day of many installations but after than not anymore.
Found a good solution to the overheating: rooted (Magisk) and used Franco Kernel Manager to disable the big core and a couple of the middle ones, thing still absolutely flies, and now never gets hot.

Wow great! Any side effects on incompatible apps, instability issues or bugs? And did you benchmark before and after?

Nothing intensive. Just Uber, Teamviewer and Google Maps. Surprisingly, games do not get the phone hot. I have tried both the German and Hong Kong Xperia 5 IIIs. Same for both.

Can say the same. Many reboots, fastboot, flashmode and back and my Phone is "cold".
Had never a Problem with hot or warm device
And still, having to root and disable a core or something isn't a solution I'm content with. Especially because the 5 II didn't have those problems. I understand they do this to preserve the battery but honestly it didn't really matter with my old phone and I used it a lot when it was hot.
I recently upgraded my 5 II to a 5 III and although I still don't wanna believe it, it's getting pretty obvious that the phone throttles the FPS from 120 to 60 Hz. The Xperia 5 II only did this sometimes when you were charging and gaming simulatenously.
However with the 5 III it sometimes tends to throttle just when you are surfing through the net or using some apps. During gaming without charging it also throttles often.
mine got super hot in like 5 min of instagram or youtube vids. It also tends to get hot and throttle a bit on music playback, i'm starting to assume that is not normal
I haven't noticed any of those with my 5III. It has behaved like my 5II for the last 6 months. Only issue I've had with heat is if I'm shooting a lot of 4k video with the CinePro app in the direct sunlight in the Texas summer.
Only gets hot when streaming.
Besides that, Ive never seen the hot temps message pop up.
