I cant update or install apps keep saying insufficient storage and I cant find the problem so start over running android 4.1.1
weird...
What kind of stuff do you have on your device? Do you have a bunch of songs or movies on the tablets internal memory/hard drive? Go into settings and apps, what available space does it say?
Also are you sure you tried the rooting process correctly? Its done from your micro sdcard...
So not sure how you got that error...you may have to delete some stuff to free up space.
Also if you really want to root your tablet, upgrade to jelly bean first and then root your tablet using cf-root the auto root exploit.
Here is a good link to help you root your tablet after you update to jelly bean.
http://m.ibtimes.co.uk/root-galaxytab2-p5113-android41-jellybean-android404-ics-424667.html
To download JB from Samsung official you will need at least 330mbs of free space.
If you root your tablet while its running ICS android 4.0.4 then you will not be able to update to jelly bean with the Samsung official update, you will get an error message and the process will abort. This why I really suggest you upgrade to JB first before rooting. If you ended up rooting your tablet while your tablet is running ICS 4.0.4 and you want to update to jelly bean then you will have to use CyanogenMod 10.1 nightly build. If that is your situation let me know and I can help you upgrade to JB.
I hope this has been helpful

Even after factory reset your root will not go away why u dont delete some useless stuff from your internal memory
Or you can use app like link2sd to link apps to ur external sd card but for this u should have proper partitions on ur external sd card

there's an option on cwm to release unused space. look for it that should give you about another 1gb of space.

4.1.2 update for N8010 doesn't update

I own a Galaxy Note 10.1 WiFi N8010, was bought in Germany quite some time ago (so CSC is German),
It came with 4.0.3, which was later updated to 4.0.4 and then to 4.1.1. Currently it is running Jellybean 4.1.1.
I had found the Exynos exploit and used it to root my device. The 4.1.2 update came out so I unrooted my device.
The "Device Status" shows "OFFICIAL".
The device received an OTA package, started installing it, started the count to 100%, and at 28-29 percent, the update stopped, the device rebooted, reported a failure and sent me to KIES.
I have some problems with KIES so I am looking for other solutions.
I thought maybe I'd use Mobile Odin to flash the stock firmware but I found it needed a flashkernel which I do not know how nor want to install right now. I was thinking about using ODIN to flash the firmware, but the size of the firmware scared me. I am used to flash 300MB SBF files on my Motorola Defy but this 1GB firmware is insane! I am afraid my computer will suddenly shut down and I will get a hard brick. Anyway, assuming I got over this fear, I have a couple of questions:
1. Does flashing with ODIN delete the user data?
2. Assuming I want to delete my data (like factory reset) - what options should I choose in ODIN when I flash?
3. Are there any options not including ODIN, KIES or the computer in general?

Nexus 5 32gb to 16gb after update.

Hi I recently rooted (4.4) then updated to to 4.4.1 and only after that i notice that my internal storage went from 27gb free to 12gb free. Before i updated to 4.4.1 i had a problem with my google now so i had to alter it which brought problems preventing me to update to 4.4.1 (velvet.apk error). I downloaded stock 4.4 from google servers and flash it then updated to 4.4.1 and root again. What could have cause this error?
Happened to this guy, he formatted data in recovery and fixed it. Here is the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513101&highlight=32gb+to+16gb

[Q] Storage ("System data" 7gb) [SOLVED]

Hello,
I bought a N5 today as my N4 broke. I unlocked the bootloader, flashed CWM, rooted, flashed stock Android 5.0.1 (as the phone was shipped with Android 4.4.2 or something).
Now all my apps are installed I recognized by looking into the app "DiskUsage" that "System data" accounts for 7gb. How is this possible? I only made one backup after all installations of the apps finished.
EDIT: Sorry, please ignore the following question as I already found threads about this issue
*****
Also, how can I check what my phone's storage really is? When I look into the settings (storage) it says that it's 16gb but I actually bought the phone with 32gb and I'm not sure how to see whether the sales person gave me the wrong phone?
Was it a mistake to install Android 5.0.1 onto the shipped version 4.4.2? Was I supposed to install Android 5.0 first and then 5.0.1? If I made this mistake, how can I solve this?

Thank you very much!

How did you flash 5.0.1 and did you do a factory reset after flashing it? Not doing a factory reset is the most likely reason you're showing the wrong amount of memory. Do a factory reset and it should show the correct memory. If it doesn't then maybe you did not get a 32 Gb device. And, yeah, it's a pita to do that now.
Sent from my Nexus 9 using XDA Free mobile app
just switch phone in bootloader mode and you'll see your phone variant - 16 or 32 GB
thanks for your help guys!
I just re-did all the procedure (flash stock factory image, CWM and root) and now it seems to be all fine. Storage is up to 32gb and before finishing to install all my apps my free storage seems to be fine too.
Thanks again!
