Hello,
I bought a N5 today as my N4 broke. I unlocked the bootloader, flashed CWM, rooted, flashed stock Android 5.0.1 (as the phone was shipped with Android 4.4.2 or something).
Now all my apps are installed I recognized by looking into the app "DiskUsage" that "System data" accounts for 7gb. How is this possible? I only made one backup after all installations of the apps finished.
EDIT: Sorry, please ignore the following question as I already found threads about this issue
*****
Also, how can I check what my phone's storage really is? When I look into the settings (storage) it says that it's 16gb but I actually bought the phone with 32gb and I'm not sure how to see whether the sales person gave me the wrong phone?
Was it a mistake to install Android 5.0.1 onto the shipped version 4.4.2? Was I supposed to install Android 5.0 first and then 5.0.1? If I made this mistake, how can I solve this?

Thank you very much!

How did you flash 5.0.1 and did you do a factory reset after flashing it? Not doing a factory reset is the most likely reason you're showing the wrong amount of memory. Do a factory reset and it should show the correct memory. If it doesn't then maybe you did not get a 32 Gb device. And, yeah, it's a pita to do that now.

just switch phone in bootloader mode and you'll see your phone variant - 16 or 32 GB
thanks for your help guys!
I just re-did all the procedure (flash stock factory image, CWM and root) and now it seems to be all fine. Storage is up to 32gb and before finishing to install all my apps my free storage seems to be fine too.
Thanks again!

Hey Guys,
i've got a problem with my nexus appearing since i got the android lollipop update.
The problem is described very easy and i think i can imagine a way of solving it but i have no idea how to do it in practice: If i connect the Nexus to my PC, it appears but it tells me that there is in total 12 GB available but in fact i have
the 32 GB model. I think i have to re-partition it. How can i do that?
As you propably can understand, i would like to have as muich storage available as possible. Could it be that 4.4 KitKat stayed on the Nexus and is now on a second partition?
Thanks in advance

Try Factory Reset !
All I am sorry if this has been asked as I cannot find the same issue when I search
I was offered the lollipop upgrade via OTA today. I downloaded and rebooted as it asked. Then since I have my phone rooted with TWRP the TWRP screen came up and I tried and install.. that failed obviously, again rebooted into TWRP and then chose to boot to system, it looked like it was upgrading packages and then i looked a few minutes later and it showed my phone was not updated.
Now when I go to the options/about phone/software upatdate it says that I am up to date and I am at 4.4.4..
Can anyone help? I would really like to get lollipop on there without losing all my data.
TIA
Hi, have a look here, it worked perfectly for me and i didn't lose any data.

Hello, this is my first post on these forums, but I have used several threads found on here previously. A little background: I purchased my Moto G from Boost Mobile back in April of 2014, ran it for a month on the Boost network, then unlocked the bootloader, rooted it, and loaded the Verizon Android 4.3 US rom and ported it over to Page Plus, and I have been there ever since.
My question now is, I'd like to get a clean factory reset on it in hopes of restoring some performance. It lags from time to time and has developed some quirks over the year and a half. I know Android 4.3 is an old version, would I benefit from any newer ones? I've been having trouble finding the correct rom I should be using for my phone. The link I originally got the VZW 4.3 US Rom from is no longer working, and I'm not sure where else to look.
I've backed up my user apps+app data with Titanium Backup Pro, my WiFi passwords, SMS, and this time, remembered to transfer my pictures as well as the backup files themselves off my internal storage/SD card. I think I am ready to flash.
What options should I look into for a new start? TIA.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that link today.
A close friend of mine has a Nexus 5 that I rooted for him around 2 years ago. He's not very tech savy and doesn't bother with upgrading his software and stuff like that. I convinced him to finally update his phone to the latest version. I also flashed a custom recovery and CM 11, but the phone now has only 16gb instead of the 32 that it came with.
Since it's been a long time I used his device, I forgot how to properly update. Do I just flash a MM ROM în recovery? Do I flash the bootloader and modem separately through some kind of software? I'm only used to samsung devices so I'm familiar with odin, I don't have a clue what to do.
Can someone guide me a bit please?
Here is some info about his current setup.
Flash the factory image with fastboot. You'll want to clear cache and do a factory reset in the stock recovery. That'll correct the 16 Gb issue and get you back to 32. See how to flash a factory image in the general forum (sticky roll up thread). Note, this will wipe the device so backup everything off the device first.

Hi guys,
I have 6039Y with partition resized. I downloaded package but, when I will try to update, phone will just reboot and thats it. I would like to update it to version 6.0.1 but I also would like to keep my extended drive
Any sugestion?
You can try to put the partitions back as they were, update, and then change again.

Sorry for my late response.
This is nice to say, but I didn't manage to root my 6045 after update to 6.0.1, because they removed fastboot commands. So I can't install TWRP and root. I found this manual ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/general/guide-hoe-to-root-ota-easy-t3493400 ), but didn't have time to test it.
And I' afraid , that it will be similar with 6039. No fastboot, no root, no extra memory.
Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Resizing partition didn't helped. I had to put original phone in to original state. Unfortunately with Mobile upgrade 5.0.0 I got error msg at 2%: Read terminal information failed. So I tried to do same thing with older version 4.8.7 and it with it worked perfectly. Update SW to 6.0.1 over Wi-Fi was smooth when phone was restored to its original state. Now I have Marshmallow, but almost no space on phone anyone have idea how to resize partition after update to 6.0.1?
