And my phone is unlocked already will i have to unlock it again after the root? Also if i root the phone will i be able to get 3g or 4G speeds on the Tmobile will the frequencies be right? Because i heard if the phone is just unlocked the frequencies are different.
Please reply ASAP!
Thanks
All you will get on tmo is edge. Also you can't have root without being s off.

T-Mobile have different UMTS frequencies (UMTS 900, UMTS 1700, UMTS 2100 instead of AT&T's UMTS 850, UMTS 1900), therefore only edge will work.

Even 256 Kbps is enough for the mobile Internet (IM, mail, news...) in my case, but, I agree that 3G was better.

Hi,
I recently unlocked this phone and have been using it on Tmobile. My data is EDGE only and its frustrating. Yesterday, however, I left Brooklyn, where I live, for Great Adventures in New Jersey. As we were approaching the theme park my signal changed from EDGE to H+ and stayed that way for 10 hours. It returned to EDGE when we left the park. So, its possible to get more than EDGE if there's a concentration of mobile towers, which is what I am assuming happened.

No. What matters is frequency used by T-Mobile. Currently they are in the process of refarming their 1900mhz to 3g. Their is no way of knowing where they are testing and or activating the 1900 band. The only known place was in the bay area during the last apple event. You must have a found a spot. Its one of those you have to wait for tmo to reach your area

edge is really slow. it slower then 3g. why do you use an AT&T phone on t-mobile. is it the prepaid plan. if so their are a few prepaid that run on att network. If you went att prepaid you would get 3g minium if not more. i'm using a company called red pocket mobile. its not bad but it 55.00 a month i get unlimited talk text and 1gb of data. might wanna look into it. hope it helps.
I've unlocked my SK4G but when I use AT&T using hex editor whiched worked I'm glad to say but I'm getting Minimun data out of it. Are there any kernels that fixes that or can it be done?
TMobile and att use different bands for 3g and 4g. Just like an att iPhone only gets edge on TMobile, a TMobile phone only gets edge on att.

Sad to say this, but he's definitely right about it. You could try to flash the Blaze4G Modem, but I'm doubtful it will work.
i appreciate it fellas and yeah that is sad but ill live lol. oh yea that modem boost didnt work, didnt expect it to though
The new Nexus phones say they are compatible with 4G on both TMO and ATT. Does it have a special dual-band modem that other phones lack?
I installed that 4g modem and the reception was better but the internet is still sucks

AT&T uses a few different LTE bands. 4, 17, and I believe 2 and 5 in some markets. Of those, the 1+1 supports 4 and 17. It's possible you live in an area that AT&T uses 2 and/or 5 primarily, and any signal from 4 and/or 17 is weak or non-existent.
att uses band 17 more than anything, followed by 4. they recently started using band 2 in december, but only in areas that already use band 17.

D821 gets LTE pretty much everywhere except North America. D820 only gets LTE in north america
HSPA and lower works on both pretty much everywhere.
Though, you haven't given specifics so I in turn, can not be specific

Has anyone gotten an Exynos S7 to work in the US with any of our carriers?

T-Mobile has to certify and allow the phone to work on band 12 or else it won't be able to make 911 calls. They've verified the US S7 but I don't think they verified the international version.

Hope this helps someone asking if the Samsung Galaxy Exynos International Version SM-G930F works with T-Mobile LTE Band 12 !

it's frustrating that others have said recently that band 12 is NOT supported. what about wifi calling?
Hi there !
I belive that WIFI calling and the reduced Internet speed while on a phone call, are the two things that are different on the Exynos. Tell me how to check and make sure WiFi doea not work and I will try for you. I have tested the second one, and indeed the Internet speed is way reduced when talking on phone. Depending where you are, it is either H+ or 3G.
Hope that helps !

i believe there should be a setting for wifi calling within the "more connection settings". if it's not showing within the settings, then it's not supported.
as for band 12, how reliable is that app you used? a lot of people have mentioned that band 12 is not supported on the exynos model, so i'm really curious how yours has it.
thanks!
OK, there is no WiFi calling setting under there.
As for how reliable the App is, I have no idea, sorry. I searched and found it was mentioned in XDA for checking this kind of settings/capabilities. I will take a screen capture of it once I am in a building and it is showing the band used. My understanding is that LTE Band 12 is particularly good and improves signal inside buildings.

The Internattional version does support band 12. and it works, however for VoLTE you have to find a firmware that has it which is hard. the Czech t-mobile firmware has VoLTE but no WiFi calling
The "F" international version also has Band 17 for AT&T
why do people who DON'T have the phone act like they know what they are talking about.
Works fine on T-Mo, and ATT. you just miss out on some of the bands, and also carrier features like VoLTE.
my 930F works fine on Tmo. and it'll work fine on ATT as well.
