I'm running a dell latitude d400 winxp I installed Ubuntu10.04 and got pae errors so after a week I have up. Now I'm tying peppermint3 on USB drive and it's giving me the error "hdio_get_identity failed for '/dev/sdb': invalid argument
General error mounting file systems.
A maintenance shell will now be started.
Control-d will terminate this shell and reboot the system.

And then I can enter anything. As it takes like4 hours to download another ISO file I'd prefer a fix if possible. I tried google and I couldn't find any answers just possible problems. Please help thank you!

Hey whats going on guys? So this is my first post because usually everyone asks the same questions in the other threads. I found it weird when I would open some apps and it would have this turn dial thing and say "please wait to prepare app for use" or something similar. Decided to download Kasperky and see what it found. It found 4 threats all in my system memory. I tried deleting it but it wouldnt let me. I have my iMac with me in my apartment. The windows comp I used to root is at my parents house. Is there any way to fix this? Im hurtin' :crying:.
Thank you in advanced!
GS3 and Mac do not play nice together. I had to resort to bootcamp.

I know there is Rom toolbox that can flash a new Rom on your device reverting it back to either stock or a Rom of your choice that's all through the phone you can try that if you are rooted.
Or you can use the free version of mobile Odin and flash a new Rom etc

I've downloaded drivers to my PC, tried to use HTC dev and WinDroid HTC toolkit but I keep getting error messages. I know how to use the toolkit but I think I'm unpacking it wrong and not setting it up right. Any help would be great thanks.

What kinds of errors are you getting?
This when i open the application
the data folder is missing! many or all functions may not work correctly, and multiple errors may arise.
pretty sure I'm just being a noob

It sounds like either the toolkit files weren't extracted correctly or there was an error while downloading. When you download the toolkit zip, you should extract all the contents, and there should be the toolkit exe file and the Data folder.
Ok thank you. I will try again as soon as I can.
Hi, so I got the toolkit to open properly and along the bottom it recognizes my device but there is no "get devices" under the adb commands. I clicked on the "get token id" but then it just keeps working for really long. Waited about a half hour. If I need to leave it longer that's cool just not sure. Thanks
Help.....

Hi Guy, and thanks for a lovely forum.
I'm currently running 4.4.2 on my Nexus 5 rooted and with Exposed Installer and GravityBox[KK] (which has a modify kernel for the Exposed installer). I want to install the new OTA-update (4.4.3) but the installation always get aborted (unexpected counting) or something. Dose The EI and GB[KK] interfere with the update process or by the modify kernel or both?
Do I need to uninstall EI and GB[KK], unroot the Nexus 5? In that case, how? Or do a factory reset or di I need to install totally back to stock 4.4.3?
I'm running a Mac (the only computer i own, and I have on internet connection at home so I use my Nexus 5's 3G and use hotspot to the Mac so it's not possible to install ROM's/update via my Mac cause then I will not have an internet connection during the installation process).
Is it possible to return back to stock on my Mac? In case how?
Dose anyone know how to fix this problem or are able to help me solve this problem? All answers are appreciated. I really need to get the 4.4.3 update. It dose not matter if I need to do a full "wipe"/factory reset, I have everything backup.

I do not fully understand the instructions for the Mac. I'm not so femilier with the terminal commands. Do I need to install adb and fastboot on me Mac also?
Do you think that you can help me understand a little better or go through with the steps?

Google 15 second adb drivers xda. That should set up adb/fastboot that'll you'll need. Then extract the file and just double click on the flash-all.sh

Recently I've been thinking the WiFi and BT issue on my rk3188 board (apart from it being Au not the other versions of the dual purpose chip rk903) is that it only happens if rooted so do they have a tamper trigger?
Other thing was android adb was installed and it was comming up on PC as rockusb device but batch tools wasn't recognising it was even corrected after doing everything the net said about it (modding infs etc) the way I got it to recognise is by booting it to download via reboot menu that I had found on oma s rk30 root project not sure who credits go to on it so just stating where I got it

Hello
I have partitioned my 32 GB external SD card to 4 partitions. The 4th one is 10 GB. I would like to install Kali Linux (Xterm) or Debian (LXDE) there. As long as I am concerned isn't 8 GB enough for these distros? So they will actually have no problem running on that partition right?
I am using Linux Deploy.
However I think I am using the wrong path.
Any ideas of what can I possibly do?
I will be grateful for any help
Thanks in advance!
(I know I happen to have Kali Linux for profile pic but it is just because I like the dragon. I am neither a wannabe nor a pro)
Edit: the partition is ext2

Hi thanks a lot for the response! Its a big forum so it is hard to have an answer sometimes. I am checking it right away! I hope it explains how to install in seperate partition
Edit: It doesnt actually tell how to install to seperate partition. I may be asking way too much but I'd love to install it to my 4th partition. Any suggestions?
I typed in terminal emulator
cd /dev/block
But then i find mmcblk and other similar non directories.
