After using your Android device for some time it may begin to slow down and lag, and this is quite frustrating for every user in such situation. The more apps you install on your Android device, the less memory you make available on your device. Then your device will become slower in processing your apps and this will definitely affect your battery life and device performance. Just like no one likes to use a slow computer, no one also loves using a slow Android device. So let’s look at how we can make our device faster again.
How to make your Android device faster again:
1. Reboot your Android device:
If your Android device suddenly becomes slow and takes unnecessary time to respond, reboot your device as this will kill all processes consuming your memory. Then you can launch your desired apps. If your Android is still slow after rebooting follow the steps below.
2. Uninstall unnecessary and unused apps:
It is a common practice for Android users to install a lot of apps, some of these apps are rarely used or unnecessary, uninstall such apps to make more memory available for other important apps to use in your device. Ensure to always keep minimum apps on your Android device and keep only the important ones. The less apps you run, the more responsive your Android device will be since there will now be free available memory to use.
3. Reduce the number of Widgets/Home screens you use in your device:
Reduce the number of widget your device and also reduce to its minimum the number of Home screens on your device. Widgets consume your memory as their services run on your device even when you are not using them. Reducing them will make more memory available.
4. Install a Custom ROM:
Since newer versions of Android OS performs better than their older counterparts, it will be wise to install custom ROMs to get a newer version of Android OS. This will make your device more responsive.
5. Transfer apps to Memory Card:
As much as this may involve rooting your Android device, moving apps to your memory card will make more memory space available in your internal memory which serves as RAM to your device. A2SD is an app that can allow you to install apps on your SD card rather than your internal memory and this will help you ensure more internal space on your device.
6. Turn of unnecessary services when not in use:
It is advisable to turn off services you are not using anytime you are not using it. Services like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS etc. Most times even when you are not using an app, its services may still be running on the background, so killing the services manually will make more space available to other apps.
Final Thoughts:
So much have been written about this topic in so many blogs, no matter what have been written one thing remains certain, when you install so many apps, your memory is used up and your Android device requires memory to process quickly, so when the memory have been used by other apps, it is always difficult for your device to perform as expected. So I will advise you to always ensure good memory management practices that will always free up internal memory for your Android device to perform optimally.

Since I work in retail phone sales and am a computer geek, of course I rooted my atrix 2 as soon as I got it. CM7 CM9 back to Gingerbread, then ICS leak came and voila. Anyway KUDOS listen up people this guy knows what he's talking about. Custom ROMs, Apps to SD CARD, things will go a lot smoother.:good:

It should be noted that when you move apps to SD that have widgets, it usually makes the widgets unusable. Good info none-the-less.

Overcloack its a risk, i dont suggest it at all because there a reason why Sony or Samsung or HTC set that frequency on that CPU, that reason is safety and durability, two things that jailbreak leaves... Do it at your own risk

You can't increase RAM without the hardware (again, as far as i know). the only thing you can do is to use less RAM, thus making the device faster and more effective. try freezing the apps that you are not using with titanium back-up. a lot of apps work on background and you don't even need them. by freezing them, you prevent them from auto-starting. you can unfreeze them to make them work again. (you need to be rooted for this)

And then we get into the old falacy that "Free RAM is good". This is simply NOT true on Android. If you start running too short on free RAM then the Android system starts to kill applications to free up more RAM, but RAM is there to be used.

@OP I don't know if this'll work on your phone but on the HD2 at least you could create a swap partition on your SD card then flash a zRam script to increase RAM.

Useless? Not necessarily, as long as you know what you are doing and are 100% certain about the apps you are freezing. However, I have never seen any real benefit in doing so. The Android built-in task manager normally does a failry good job of managing the memory without any real intervention.

Actually I personally have found that killing apps on devices with low RAM makes the phone feel a lot faster.

Manually killing them is something I do as well. I just don't buy into the task-killer type apps.

Freezing / killing the apps as root can be useful, but as I said you need to be certain what apps you are freezing and why. How many times have you read on XDA from someone who has frozen a load of the 'Background' apps, and then finds their device won't even boot up and they have to do a full flash to recover, often losing a load of data as well?

I download this app on googleplay that boosted my androids performance and it feels like its brand new. I dont know how this app works but i just want to know if it shortenes lifespan on my device. I know that apps like sd card cache booster will definitely shorten sd card life.

It will probably, since it is boosting to a level the device normally doesn't support. So it's doing more work than it should do.

But how do you know if it's really working? Benchmarks don't matter for these applications; the only way to find out is through a side by side comparison.

I just read some descriptions for these apps. At least the descriptions are really poor, and the user will not get any usefull knowledge. Only "These apps will not change android settings itself but change the way android is managed. Could be all or nothing :/ I prefer to know what an application will do to my phone. I also try to use as less apps and background processes as possible and really needed. THAT really boosts the performance and will also reduce the risk of system instability.
If anyone can could please explain how these apps will speed up android i was very pleased

What is the best rom from a battery perspective right now and how much will it increase battery life? Right now I get 3-4 hours on 4g and 5-7 hours on Wifi on stock, rooted with greenify. Will a lite rom help even more on battery? Also, which would you say is the best right now and why?

Questions like these(best rom bla bla) are not tolerated every rom here is a result of hardwork and efforts from devs which are all unique in their own ways, would suggest you to try and use what you like.

You won't notice a difference in battery life from Stock to custom, except maybe a decrease due to wake bugs maybe.
Your battery life is pretty good.
Rule of thumb, ROM's might allude to having better battery life than others, but they almost certainly do not.

Well no idea either. I asked what the best rom was from a BATTERY perspective. Some are for speed, others battery and some features.
I fully understand they're all hard work.

Uhmm... The community? Well as far as I see now there is no such issue's in the Galaxy S6 forums, I come from the Galaxy S2 community where any similar questions(literally anything that started with BEST ROM...) are flamed by other members and occasionally outright locked or removed by the moderator's.
I myself never had an issue with those kind off question though.

The question is pretty much not answerable for a number of reasons.
People get different results due to how they use their phones and what software the load and run on the same ROM, and to answer your question someone would have had tried all the available roms for enough time to form an opinion.
Lastly, this is a general S6 forum so people here are using all kinds of different variants of the S6 making the comparison even less likey.
I have a stock rooted ROM and am quite pleased with the battery usage on it, YMMV.

Based on what? Reaching 8+ hours SOT? If no, then the answer for now is XtreStoLite.
In theory, the lightest ROM with the least amount of bloatware may extend your battery life. But in reality, phone usage is the main culprit of battery life. I have tried different ROMs with my old S3 trying to extend its battery life. But in the end my efforts are in vain as I put too much work for a very little gain of less than 30 mins. This also applies to the S6. Modifying usage (i.e. turning wifi/bluetooth when not in use, working with dimmer screen, etc...), buying extra battery or powerbanks and chargers for charging on the go and anywhere all did the trick of preventing phone usage interruption due to a drained battery.
I know I should buy better device ect. but I'm using smartphone with the 800mb of memory and 200mb of virtual I need a thread or suggestion what can I do [what will REALLY WORK] to optimize ram memory to be able to work with the apps like wattpad or excel ect. I don't want to install CM because of camera and radio, I'm using kitkat 4.4.2 I have root and CR

With the level of today's mobile softwares, 800MB isn't enough.
There aren't enough tricks to make enough difference with 800MB to notice.
The hardware requirements of today's apps more than 800MB can handle. Your device is gonna be slow no matter you do.

You are right... 2gb is easy to get today, but because I can't afford it... I need manipulate my cpu and ram to get the effects, even 300mb per app would be good to use, when I was using CM using excel or writing apps ect. seem so easy on my configuration, but I need stock rom unfortunately SO...

I'm speaking from experience, I've had more than one device that had 800MB of RAM. They weren't the fastest then and that has been about 2 years or more. They'd be worse now.
Maybe you're just "satisfied" with its performance at that level.
