Recently I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 which runs on 4.4.2.
As soon as I connected it to my Google Calendar account the notifications on my Nexus 5 stopped working.
All calendar events appear, with right reminders etc but notifications only go off on the Tab.
So far I tried to see if it is the settings of Google Calendar (which seems to be not) or some syncing issue (which is not).
On phone I have aCalendar while on the tablet I use the S Planner.
Does anyone know what should I look for? ie if it is some service on the phone or something I am missing?

The pre-installed, out of the box, Samsung "Contacts" app does not work. It has never worked since I opened the box. I did use the pre-installed Samsung email app to setup and sync with my google gmail account contacts info. I used the Samsung email app and it can access my gmail contacts info when I type into the recipient field (in Samsung email app). For email purposes I use gmail and it works fine and can access my contacts too.
The manner of the Contacts apps not working: Run the app and the app shows an all white colored screen with a thin black horizontal line about 1/3 inch below the top edge of the screen that runs from side to side. The much smaller area above this line is very slightly more grayish white. This is all, there are no gui objects displayed except the thin black horizontal line.
I believe I am doing something wrong that causes this problem, because:
This problem has occurred on two different Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 devices that I bought. I bought my first Tab 2 and it had this problem. I returned it. I bought a second Tab 2 and it has this same problem. This problem occurred on both tablets when they were running 4.0.3 NOT rooted. Both tablets later updated to 4.0.4 and rooted and the problem still occurs.
Help is very appreciated.
Kelvin
I noticed the same behaviour after the update to 4.04 (on my tab2 P3100).
After playing around with deleting the app settings and so on, i deleted and recreated my sync settings.
Even that did not help.
Since the underlying sync and contact database on my device seemed to work correctly the
solution was for me to install and use Go Contacts from market.

That app is not compatible with galaxy Tab 2. Can you recommend another app for contacts use?
Edit: I posted this after an hour of trying to fix it myself, and of course I solved the problem five minutes after posting it. Problem was that on the phone the entries were by default being made under a local calendar and not my Google account.
I'm having sort of a weird problem with calendar syncing. I use two android devices - my phone which is a Samsung Galaxy S3 (i9300 international version purchased overseas), and my tablet which is an Asus Transformer Prime (TF201), and Google Calendars. Events that I create on my phone do not upload to Google Calendars or to my tablet. However, events created on Google or on the tablet will sync to the phone - it's only the phone-created events that won't sync.
Before making this thread I googled around and didn't find much. I followed every step in http://support.google.com/calendar/bin/static.py?hl=en&page=ts.cs&ts=2819319 , but there was no effect. I've tested the phone on the cellular signal and on wifi, and I'm using the stock calendar.
The tablet has no problems, but both it and my phone are rooted and running stock 4.1.1. The only thing I can think of that could be causing this is the fact that I manually updated the phone to 4.1.1 with odin, and shows as being modified under Device Status.
Anyone have any ideas that I haven't tried yet?

Using Note 3, can't seem to find the "default" setting (OS 4.3) to get my S calendar to sync with google calendar.
Hi all.
So I was wondering if a data synch icon can appear in the notification bar when the phone is sync'ing and accounts etc (google , gmail, calendar etc)?
I can't find the option in the settings. My wifes HTC does it, my old HTC did as well, but my Galaxy Note 2 did not.
I did however find this (i don't have 10 posts to be able to include external links....yet)-
allaboutgalaxynote.com/galaxy-note-4-how-to-guides/meaning-of-galaxy-note-4-status-icons-and-notification-icons/
Am i missing something or does touchwiz not allow the option for some reason?
Cheers

when i add something to my calendar on my phone(note 4) it does not always sync to gear s2.i have to go to gear manager and unsync and resync and then it shows up on calendar.
I'm having the same issue. All of a sudden, events that appear in both the default Samsung calendar app on my Note 4, as well as the Google calendar app will sync with each other, as well as my mac, but they are no longer syncing to my S2 Classic, which now shows zero events every day. I did a full factory reset on my watch and even without restoring any if my apps, settings or data, the issue remains. I have not found a workaround, such as un-syncing and re-syncing via the Gear app. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I just picked up the S3 yesterday and sync'd to my S6 phone. But my calendar events are not appearing nor are my contacts sync'd?
Am I missing a permission or something or will the contacts or calendar not sync?

Got mine yesterday. Can't tell how I did it but Google Contacts and Google Calendar have both synced. What happens if you open Contacts on the watch?
The watch just asks to add contacts. I don't understand why it won't sync. I may factor reset it. I had another device sync'd before the S3, I have since deleted it.
So I tried doing a factory reset and reconnecting the phone and watch, I still can not sync my contacts or my calendar.
Any help please?
If this doesn't work I will be returning the watch, this is ridiculous.
My original S2 had not issues with the sync.
FWIW, I've had no trouble with my contacts or calendar syncing either. Are all the permissions for Gear S Plugin and Samsung Gear enabled?
Sent from my SM-T530NU using Tapatalk
I went thru my permissions and enabled everything thru the plug in and gear. The calender now populates vbut my contacts still won't sync. Trying to think of what I am missing?
So I reset all phone permissions back to factory and now the contacts are in. Thanks for the assistance.
Now, ifor they will make a good stopwatch app I will be happy.
hmm. I had an original gear, with some sideloaded apps to connect it to my op3. I ended up having to delete all of those, then redownload the new gear app (not just update it). then my gear s3 worked ok.

I don't find anything wrong with the built in stopwatch or Tyne one on the built in watch face Chronograph+. Failing that install Watchmaker and download one of hundreds of faces with a stopwatch (or make your own).
