Which Phone prefer me Note 3 Or G3?
And why ?
My Nexus 5 is being sold.
I replaced it with 5.2" 1440p Moto Maxx (XT1225), with Snapdragon 805, 3GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, Qi wireless charging. "International" version of the Droid Turbo. Unlockable boot loader, root, TWRP recovery.
Such an awesome phone, the Moto Maxx/ Turbo
Unfortunately it is not available in Europe...

1+1
You want a bigger screen?! The Nexus 5 is like the biggest I could ever imagine have. Anyways I'd recommend the Nexus 6, it would give you all the stuff that was on the Nexus 5 and more. I would recommend to install the no-enforce encrypt kernel for it. It would speed up the phone as well.

Will you guys get the nexus 6 when it's available for sale or stick with the nexus 5 cause I've bought the nexus 5 about only a month ago and the phones get to my country overpriced -the 16 GB nexus 5 was about 500$- so I'm worried people might stop developing for or using the nexus 5 cause I may not be able to get the nexus 6
How many threads do you need to make?
There is already a "Nexus 6" thread in the General section.
I suppose this is different from speculation. Anyway, I think it all depends on what it will offer. Possibly bigger battery, better camera. Some new and original features. Processor/RAM doesn't really matter to me. It's already fast. I think I'm leaning on keeping it just because we will have Android L to play with so the software will be the same. However, if it has unique features I might get it.
I usually get the next Nexus pending price...
Assuming the price, I'll be hitting up the Nexus 6, and getting my girl to switch from Verizon to AT&T and give her my Nexus 5.
You damn Skippy I'm going to buy the nexus 6.

I'm curious who all is gonna get either the new moto x, or wait on the nexus 6
to replace the n5?
I'm considering the X if Motorola surprises us with a 64gb model soon, but I'm just looking for some feedback.

Yeah I think I'll wait on the 6 after doing some more reading, its just that the new X does look kinda sexy. I just hope google decides to offer 64gb of storage as that's my deciding factor.
Probably neither

Wait for N6 , if the rumors are true,N6>Moto X
While the X is an excellent device with great moto features, if it's anything like the original moto x... There will be very little Development for it. So if you like to flash roms and whatnot... I doubt the X would be for you.
Also, Verizon, AT&T and Republic wireless don't allow you to unlock the bootloader... Assuming it's the same as the original x again, so you won't be modifying it at all if you get one of those carriers phones.
If you don't care about flashing things, the X would be an excellent device.

I never realized there wasnt much Dev for it, but I'm happy with an unlocked boot loader, paranoid android, and a good kernel, so I think I'm gonna wait till November for the new nexus then.
Thanks for the input peoples.
I am just thinking I don't think Motorola making the nexus 5 2014 edition because it's 2k display so I think lg making the new nexus. Probably the 5.9 inch nexus Motorola making .

The new moto x has a pathetic battery life stay away from it...
Get a z3 compact if battery is prime concern...endurance rating goes well beyond 100hrs for it...(nexus 5 has only 40hrs)

Yea if you ask Nexus 5 users on XDA high chance that you will find us wanting to get the new nexus over anything else. Moto X is tempting but not when you consider the price and the fact that some of its great features will be in L.
Hi, first of all sorry for my english.
I am undecided for my next smartphone between Moto X (I gen) and Nexus 5.
I see the Moto X (I gen) like a Nexus 5, but smaller with more compact size.
I want ask you one thing without consider the display, the camera, the CPU, etc.. only the Modding side of this two smartphone (Custom ROM, Kernel, MOD, Xposed Modules, ...)
What are the things i can do (Modding) with a Nexus 5 that i can't do with a Moto X (I gen)?
Thank you very much for your answer.
* I post the same thread in the Moto X forum.
Lots more development on N5 as even 10 year old children can compile AOSP roms. It is easier to create your own rom on nexus 5. Thats it really.
Longevity of custom software as well. Nexus 5 development will probably continue for a lot longer than Moto's X (2013).

I'm not convinced on this. Nexus devices historically only seem to offer official support for 18 months. However that said, The Nexus 4 looks to be getting lollipop...
But once a Nexus drops official support, it becomes as difficult as every other phone to develop for once they too have dropped support. If the Nexus 5 finishes with L, there will be no official drivers for M which will make M development really difficult.
I think the Nexus 5 support period for official releases is unknown so it's hard to say with any certainty that we'll get greater longevity.
I know, but i am afraid that the N5 is too big than the Moto X

The Nexus 5 is only slightly bigger than Moto X.
As a former moto x owner, and now a current Nexus 5 owner, stay with the Nexus 5 hands down

Oh plz Nexus 6 [email protected] says hi.
My wife has my X now and I had an N5.
To me they are very similar in most categories. Tho I'd say the X is the slightly better phone overall.
So, want a great phone, smaller than the 5 " plus phones and has unique Moto features...... Get the X.
Want a bigger and great phone too... With far more Development.... Get the N5.
Yes, Development on the X is very limited. And you gotta watch... You get a Verizon, at&t or Republic wireless... You may not get root or be able to unlock the bootloader... So no custom recovery.
Up to you in the end. Not much else can be said here really. They are very evenly matched.
So what phones do you plan on getting for those on Jump on Demand. Or do you plan on sticking with the Note 5 until the 6?
For me I plan on getting the Huawei Nexus, and then my last upgrade will be the next gen HTC(hoping for a phablet like the one max)
I was hoping to get the z5 on tmobile but it doesn't look like that's happening. So I will prolly get the g4 pro and some kind of nexus device.
If I signed up for it in august, do I get two more upgrades until Dec 31st? Or do I get two more upgrades until August of next year?

You would get three more upgrades anytime from August 2015 to August 2016

Same as me . Really liking the size and build quality of my new Note 5, and the upcoming Huawei Nexus is supposed to be near identical size as well and high quality metal build. But will carrier stores be selling this Nexus like they did the Motorola Nexus 6 ? Or will it be a Google Play store sale only ?
And I too, am interested to see what HTC has ready for the M10.
But between this Note 5 or Hauwei Nexus, I doubt I'll switch to anything else between those two, until the Note 6.

I'm debating about getting the Note 5. But not sure. I currently have the Note 4 and I don't know if it will be worth jumping to the Note 5. It looks like there have been improvements to the software and it looks like just stock TW on the Note 5 appears to be as buttery smooth and lag free as people are saying.

That's what I mean. I don't know why they don't allow all flag ship models. I can see why they wouldn't allow someone to get $200 phone then trade it in for $800 phone.
Many T-Mobile aren't even carrying the Nexus 6 and it's very soon EOL so that makes sense. I was talking about the next Nexus assuming they will carry the Huawei phablet

Note 5 is a great phone, so is the Note 4. If your happy then stay with Note 4.
I may actually jump to the new iPhone when it gets released. Here's why (don't judge) - I've always been a hardcore google/android guy and I JUST jumped to the Note 5 when it was released. I love it and don't really have a reason to get rid of it, but I also just purchased a custom Moto X Pure which should be here on the 15th and depending on how that phone performs and whether or not I like going back to stock android and losing some of the Note's features. I may just do something a little different and go the iphone route for a bit. Seeing as how I'll have two phones I can just swap the sim cards out at any time. Or I'll just keep Note 5 and see if one of the nexus's is considered a "premium" level phone and jump to one of those.
I like the Note 5 for now, so no plans to JoD, but I like having the option of switching if something good comes out. Even if I don't switch I am still paying the reduced $25/m from the JoD promo for the Note 5 so I am saving money by going JoD. If nothing better comes along I most likely will jump to the Note 6 next year.

When on jod. You can only jump to the qualifying jod devices like: lg g4, galaxy s6, s6 edge, edge +, note 4, note5, iphone 6, 6s+. Basically all high end devices. You cannot jump to a lower phone that is not in the list above.

I saw a thread in the LG G5 forum from a Dev and a couple others saying they planned on bringing CM to that device. developing CM for that device.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3305150
So, does anyone have plans to bring CM to the GS7 when it's released?
This may play a major part in my and probably other decision on whether or not to get the GS7 or the G5

And to what models?
there'll be no problem for the snapdragon variant
best hardware from samsung and best software from CM/AOSP

International variants have a unlocked bootloader as well as T mobile here in the US. (Unless they lock it for some reason.)
I have a note 5. No CM due to the exynoss processor.
I love Sammy phones and the new TouchWiz UI. But having CM as a choice of rom to use will most likely make or break my decision to upgrade to the s7.
So far the G5 is looking the best for me. Half of the reason is confirmation of CM for the device.

lol wut?
No dev can commit to bring CM to either the S7 or G5 until they have a chance to get their hands on it to see how locked down it is, and what sort of exploits they can utilize for root and unlocked bootloader.
Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE Plus comes with with Android Oprating System Quad core cortex A57 & Quad core cortex A57 Processor, 64GB internal storage, 4GB RAM, No SD Card Slot, Super Amoled LCD capacitive 2560 x 1440 pixels, 5.7 inches touchscreen, 16M colors, 20.7MP pixels, autofocus, back Camera, GPS, Wi Fi, 3G and 4G Suported Smartphone by Samsung.
