I've tried everything I could but I keep coming across the same issue which is needing a functioning volume down button to continue. I have a semi-bricked xoom tablet wifi only first edition. It is stuck in boot loop and I tried using LAIO Tools to fix the issue in recovery but I can't go through the steps without using volume down. Help?

I seemed to have bricked my Nexus S 4g, I unlocked the bootloader, and had MIUI running on there for some time with no problems, I took the rom off and started to run with just stock android. I ran into an issue when i tried to use an application that would change the system fonts, Fontchanger, and now the phone will not even reach the nexus s loading screen but instead gets immediately stuck at the first image screen showing the Google logo. When i hold the volume up and power button i can get into the boot menu, but when i try to get into the recovery menu i just get the triangle with the exclamation mark logo. Can anyone help me out with this one?
BUMP BUMP BUMP BUMP In a similar situation, flashed the wrong rom ran the OTA and wiped out recovery & USB.
Press Power and Volume Up Button in recovery mode and you will get options to clean things up. Did the same in morning and got it when accidentally pressed.
I installed a kernel and forgot to whipe, now the xoom gets stuck at the rom logo and wont go any further. I have tried to get back to the clockwork mod settings but none of the button combinations work, the up button gives me starting RSD protocol Support, down gives me starting fastboot protocol support, both buttons gives me powering on bp.........Never ran into this problem before so was wondering if you guys had any advice or experience with similar issue.
AW: [Q] 3g xoom reboot problem
Reboot your device by holding volume up + power.
Then 3 seconds after you see the Motorola logo, hit volume down. You should now see "Android Recovery" in the top left corner. Hit volume up to boot into recovery.

hello, i have a starmobile engage 8 tablet from Philippines that I was able to root. i guess the bootloader is LOCKED, there is NO RECOVERY, and I can't install one. usb debug mode is unfortunately DISABLED without thinking that my tablet will have problems. when i restarted the phone, it showed me splash screen/starmobile logo then followed by a blank screen. after around 5 minutes, it restarts and then same thing happens.
what can be done in this case? please help!:crying:
keep trying to fix it!

I feel your pain, I have the same unit with a different issue but my temporary fix might help you.
Rooted my phone and installed a game(was in the middle of copying a file to the obb ), forgot to activate modded play store and restarted the tablet trying to do a quick modded play store install. after the stupid move My tablet now keeps restarting and stops after the star mobile logo and restarts again and it just keeps restarting.
What I did is I randomly press the following keys to attempt finding the safe mode: home+volup, home+voldown, pow+volup and etc... I finally found the safe mode and did a factory reset which did nothing to fix the restarts. Try not doing this!
Then I pressed and hold both volume keys when the star mobile logo shows up and the red star mobile logo turns blue completing the boot process for some reason starting the tablet.
As of today my engage 8 still does the infinite restart if I restart it but I can bypass it with the method. Hope it helps you.
Planning to do a cache/dalvik cache wipe when my research is done to try and fix this tab, good luck to me...
thanks for your reply... what i thought was that starmobile technicians do not want to share the key combinations. and im glad that you figured it out. can you remember that specific combinations you used? so that i can try then...
just so you know, i sent the unit to star mobile for repair and they managed to fix it. unfortunately i made the same mistake so i just dumped it.

There are only a few buttons on the phone. I mean, if you have 3 buttons, there are 3 combinations.
Assuming your phone has 3 buttons try:
Power + Volume Up
Power + Volume Down
Power + Volume Up + Volume down
If your phone has 4 buttons also try:
Power + Vol Up + Home
Power + Vol Down + Home
Power + Vol Up + Vol Down + Home
NOTE: Press ALL the buttons and hold in the same time.
NOTE2: Try the combinations in the order from top to bottom
I have boot loop issue after rooting the phone and doing factory reset. When power down or restarting the phone goes in to boot loop showing android logo and repeat same process over and over. Even though I am able to turn the phone by pressing the vol up button while pressing the power key but it wipes data every time I restarted it. After searching web I have some one found the solution of the issue and I follow the same process and got rid from the issue which save me. Here is the link for it. Heya, so my girlfriend's galaxy note Tab 10.1 is stuck at bootloop since a while, if you turn it on it keeps restarting. Its completely stock and we can't enter the recovery (idk how to), so far we tried pressing power and volume up button together and it only takes to the "downloading". How to get into recovery and factory reset?
Boot into recovery
I had a similar issue but then realised that the instructions I had been following were slightly inaccurate i.e. hold down power and volume up...... what worked for me was hold down power and volume up, when logo comes up, release power but hold on to the volume.
lets know if you already tried that.
