Okay, here's the situation. I had the first version of the Skydragon 5.0 Lollipop ROM on my Verizon HTC One M8. I saw that there was a new version of Skydragon that had 5.0.1, so naturally, I wanted to update. I downloaded the ROM and flashed it through TWRP, which I already had installed. I rebooted, and the standard fastboot menu showed up without me pressing Volume Down and Power at the same time on my phone. I thought this was weird, because I didn't tell the pone to boot into any sort of menu, and the only options on the screen were HBOOT, RAMDUMP, REBOOT, REBOOT FASTBOOT, and POWER DOWN, as shown here:

I selected the "reboot" option. I got rebooted into the same menu. I then selected "reboot fastboot" and the same thing happened. I then selected "hboot" and for a split second all of the normal options, including "recovery", appears, but I am unable to move the selection. Then it shows that there is an update and it asks me if I want to start the update, as shown here:
If I press the Volume Up button to update, this is what is shown after about five seconds or so:
If I press the Volume Down button to not update, this is what's shown:
Any way I try to do it, whenever it asks me to reboot, I get stuck in exactly the same situation with the same options and the same limitations, and I'm at a loss for what to do here. Can anybody help me? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Eject your SD card.. Boot to recovery (option will now work) . Once in recovery put SD card back in. Flash rom. And oh by the way, delete that 0P6BIMG.zip from your ext SD so you stop going nuts!

o yeah i rooted and everithing ai have a custom room of modaco.. ic a screen with green letters
Nandroid isn't the recovery image. It's a utility that backs up and restores your phone. Now, you need to have flashed the custom recovery image. Download the clear lockscreen file and rename it to update.zip and place it in the root of your sd card. Then turn your phone off. Now, press and hold home, and hit the power button so the phone turns on and continue holding home until the recovery menu comes up. Then flash the update.zip and reboot.
same thing hah

Hello!
I really need your help, I'm stuck!
I'll try to explain what happened.
I decided to change my Samsung Captivates ROM, did all stuff which was listed in tutorials 1:1.
Downloaded Clockwork recovery manager, created that update.zip file using it.
Moved my new ROM to sd card. Then selected an option "Install rom from sd card" in Clockwork recovery manager.
Phone rebooted...
And that's all, know I can't do completely nothing, I mean I just cant use volume and power buttons to select items in menu. It's just frozen.

I found similar topic, maybe this is reason?

Anyway, I need you help, as that topic didn't helped me, as I dont know what people were talking about there.
I can view internal memory files using Droid Explorer, but I can't view sdcard's data to remove that update.zip...
What can I do in this situation?
Many thanks!
that is just worst day for me. After applying older version of Clockwerk, I was able to select in recovery menu.
I selected format user data, and after selected to install Fenix rom.
During installation, some kind of error occurred. And only thing i can see, it is At&t flash logo on my screen.
If I try to enter into recovery mode, power button (select) isn't working, only up and down buttons are working...
just one question:
What should i do? damnit...
installed in download mode.
Thanks to this guy, his screencasts 're just epic.
maybe it will help someone else

Hello,
First, I am completely new to rooting, flashing etc.
Second, I just flashed Coredroid, and want to try another custom ROM. However, when I go to Settings > Applications, I don't see the "Fast Boot" option. So, Volume Down + Power won't work!
Could you assist on this issue?
Thanks.
you dont need fastboot.
copy the rom you want to your phone
hold down the power button until the menu comes up
hit restart
it should give you 4 options
choose recovery
in recovery, install from sdcard
point to the new rom you want to use
confirm
it will flash, once done, reboot
done
If that doesn't work, you can reboot to Recovery within Rom Manager as well.

The option to turn off fast boot is under "power" in the settings menu

No! Nothing like that. That is not how you turn off fastboot.
my thoughts are that all roms should come with fastboot turned off by default anyway, so if there is an issue, it isnt a complete chore to get in.
thats why i will always turn it off with my releases

Thank you for your reply. Actually, I didn't have any options under restart button. I found the "Fast Boot" option under "Power" settings, so I disabled it then Vol Down + Power worked for me to boot in recovery mode.

Thanks for the advise. I, now, use the Rom Manager whenever I want to boot in recovery. That works like a charm!
Hi guys,
I just bough a used HTC One S. The device has rooted by previous owner. There is a custom rom but I do not know which one it is. I want to install CM10 to my phone. I tried to follow the step from this a video but I have a problem. After writing the "fastboot flash boot boot.img" command, the guy from the video hits the "HBOOT" button but there is no "HBOOT" option in my phone's "FASTBOOT" menu. As far as I guess, because of that, I cannot flash "boot.img" and cannot see recovery menu of this boot. So what should I do in this step, I would be appriciated if anyone could help me.
The video's title is "HTC One X: Jelly Bean CM10 (Cyanogenmod) - How to Install - Cursed4Eva". I cannot add link because of lack of post.

How about... like... Following a guide ment for the one S, instead of a guide for a completely different device?
yea, the right guide for your phone will help!
also, can you still boot into bootloader to make sure phone still works:
do this by pressing vol- and pwr at same time until screen goes black or for about 8-10 seconds. then release power, but continue to hold vol- till phone boots into bootloader. Once there you can use volume rocker to go thru choices and pwr to select. at this point you can press pwr with the FASTBOOT highlighted blue, then then select reboot. Or you can go down to recovery and select it and see if you can get to recovery. if you get stuck just reboot into bootloader as mentioned above.
also, you can check which rom is on phone by going to Settings/About Phone and scroll to bottom. since you don't know that, i would suggest getting much more familiar with the phone and your bootloader screen before flashing roms.
whichever rom you flash, read the OP page carefully and first and last 20 pages of thread. also, include wiping system as part of any full wipe.
recommend TWRP recovery, which you can get thru goo manager from playstore as opposed to cwm.
make sure whether you have an S4 or S3 phone. S4's will run at 1512mhz
anyway read, read, read and make a backup of your phone and sdcard asap
I installed an app called Chainfire on my LG Optimus L9 last night, which runs on Jelly Bean (a no, no for this app, but I didn't know)) and it stopped booting normally. It turns on fine, but when the LG logo shows up it just stays stuck there now.
I have CWM v6.0.1.2 on there, so I booted into it and noticed that I never did any backups (another no, no.), so it's seemingly of no use to me. I asked a few people on another forum and was told my only option was to do a wipe data/factory reset, which I did. I needed a fresh ROM install, I was told, and I was provided with the following instructions:
There's a guide to clockwork here. If you can't boot the handset into Android, you'll need to access the SD Card within Clockwork. Boot into CWM again and plug the phone into the PC. Within Clockwork, Select Mounts & Storage, then Mount USB Storage. If this works, you should see an external drive appear in your PC.
Leave the phone for now, then head over to here and download the file called LeeDroid HD V3.2.1 (FTP). Once this has downloaded, place the zip file into the root of the phones SD Card. Once copied, go back to the phone again and head back to clockworks main menu. Select Wipe Cache, let it do it's thing, then Wipe Data/Factory Reset (this probably isn't that important). You then want to head to Install zip from SD Card, Choose Zip and then navigate to the zip file you just copied. Select it, then confirm. Let it do it's thing, highlight Reboot Now and it should boot in to Android!

My problem now is in not being able to access or mount USB storage as I have nothing there. I have the phone connected to my PC via USB, but I can't access my SD card.
I think I really screwed up. Is there still anyway to get my phone working again? I'm completely lost here, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Great......I tried tinkering around with some options in CWM and now I can't even get back into CWM during boot. There's no more flashing lights prompting me to enter recovery mode (or whatever it's called) and now the LG logo pops up, stays there for a few seconds and then goes to a screen with an dead looking Android figure lying on its back with a red exclamation point....
[email protected]!#....my life....:crying:
try using adb to flash a new ROM and/or recovery. that's a true last ditch attempt at flashing things. it will work. next time, don't use CVM, use TWRP, if it available for your device, and have a backup ROM/ ROM .zip available next time, so this doesn't happen again.

I'm trying to push a stock ROM onto the phone right now with adb using the following command:
adb push rom.zip /sdcard
but it keeps returning an error message of "permission denied".
What am I doing wrong?
And I also noticed that I can't boot in to the stock recovery mode either. Whenever I try, it takes me to a screen with an upright Android icon with a blue spinning hexagonal shape, the screen goes black and then it self boots back to the LG logo and stays there or reboots again. So I can't get into recovery mode.....
