Hi guys,
I just bough a used HTC One S. The device has rooted by previous owner. There is a custom rom but I do not know which one it is. I want to install CM10 to my phone. I tried to follow the step from this a video but I have a problem. After writing the "fastboot flash boot boot.img" command, the guy from the video hits the "HBOOT" button but there is no "HBOOT" option in my phone's "FASTBOOT" menu. As far as I guess, because of that, I cannot flash "boot.img" and cannot see recovery menu of this boot. So what should I do in this step, I would be appriciated if anyone could help me.
The video's title is "HTC One X: Jelly Bean CM10 (Cyanogenmod) - How to Install - Cursed4Eva". I cannot add link because of lack of post.

How about... like... Following a guide ment for the one S, instead of a guide for a completely different device?
yea, the right guide for your phone will help!
also, can you still boot into bootloader to make sure phone still works:
do this by pressing vol- and pwr at same time until screen goes black or for about 8-10 seconds. then release power, but continue to hold vol- till phone boots into bootloader. Once there you can use volume rocker to go thru choices and pwr to select. at this point you can press pwr with the FASTBOOT highlighted blue, then then select reboot. Or you can go down to recovery and select it and see if you can get to recovery. if you get stuck just reboot into bootloader as mentioned above.
also, you can check which rom is on phone by going to Settings/About Phone and scroll to bottom. since you don't know that, i would suggest getting much more familiar with the phone and your bootloader screen before flashing roms.
whichever rom you flash, read the OP page carefully and first and last 20 pages of thread. also, include wiping system as part of any full wipe.
recommend TWRP recovery, which you can get thru goo manager from playstore as opposed to cwm.
make sure whether you have an S4 or S3 phone. S4's will run at 1512mhz
anyway read, read, read and make a backup of your phone and sdcard asap

I have rooted my nexus s 4g using sdk method, I'm thinking of diving into installing the cm-10 but need instructions. Pardon if by chance I'm in wrong forum, but they wouldn't let me swim in the developer pool yet.
Welcome to the world of flashing
WARNING!! this will delete all your apps and data so use a program like titanium backup to backup all of your apps and data.
1. Make sure you have CWM Recovery installed. (If not, download rom manager from the play store and flash it.
2. Download the rom you wish to install, and put it on the root of your sdcard. Plus the gapps if there are any.
3. Turn your phone off and hold the volume + button and power button at the same time to boot into the bootloader. Navigate using the volume buttons and select recovery using the power button. If you have the touch recovery you can use touch otherwise use volume keys and power button.
4. Go into backup/restore and click backup and scroll down and hit yes. (This makes a NANdroid, which is a backup of your stock rom. If anything goes wrong or stuck in a bootloop or just having problems, you can restore your stock rom using this)
5. Hit wide data/factory reset, wipe cache and then go into advanced and click wipe dalvik cache.
6. Go back and click install from sdcard and then choose from sdcard and then choose the rom you want to install.
7. Reboot and it should take about 5 Mins to reboot. (dont worry, everytime you install a new rom, it will take a little longer than usual)
8. Once rebooted, you will be asked to set up your phone like when you first got it.
Well done you just installed your first rom
Happy flashing.
Read this three times, then do it... this has every step from a new phone, so you may skip a couple steps.

Welcome to the NS4G club...now to down to businesses. If you want the east way just use ROM Manager it currently has a CM10 ROM in burnsa. Make sure on the options before flashing you select all 3. So you have a back up and a clean flash. Have fun

About the phone:
1. I dont know the exact phone model, but it is Cloudfone Ice plus. There is a phone called Cloudefone Ice (Huwawei u8500) but i dont know if mine has another name.
2. It looks like this,
h++p://cdn2.sulitstatic.com/images/2012/0926/222830332_22162996997ba02ceb979675b8093b33516b3b725d6504ce0.jpg
3. Adroid version 2.2.1
4. Detected as "Globe Phone" in Google Play Market. *Globe is a carrier in our country.
The Problem:
When I turn it on, the android logo appears, and stays like that forever.
Cause:
After I tried to install a custom ROM using update.zip in recovery mode, the process got aborted in the last part of the installation.
5. I'm not sure if it's fully rooted, I have superuser but when I tried Root Checker before, it's not.
Other info,
I already tried to boot in recovery mode(it's the only mode that I get into now), I wiped data and cache/factory reset.(still stuck on boot screen)
I tried to install other Roms(update.zip), but all gets aborted in the beginning
I tried to download an update.app file in a dload folder in the root of sd card(firmware for huwawei)- I can't go to update firmware.I can only go to recovery mode.
I tried adb, I can use adb devices, it shows MT(serial number)
adb shell shows adb shell exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: no such file or directory exists
superboot cant detect the device.
I boot the device using power button+volume up,
when I use power+volume down, android logo appears and "Factory Mode" in the lower left (then It stays there forever, whatever button i press)
These are the infos that I can give, please help, I'm looking for fixes since yesterday from google and forums but no luck, nothing works so I decided to post my own.

New version of tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2288124
[ROM & ROOT]
Here we are going to install a mix of two ROMs in order to make the phone usable again..
You need to download these files;
SP Flash Tool;
http://www57.zippyshare.com/v/6833714/file.html
e1901;
http://www.4shared.com/file/9bsP-vQV/
e1920 (this should be original system, but when you install just this,
some red triangle appears and system will not continiue to load, so just do it like I will show you in this tutorial);
http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=506476&uk=4178083362
Then, first you need to flash entire e1901 ROM to your phone, using flash tool..
After that you will need to flash only first six parts of e1920 ROM, it is shown in Pic0;

}
Also then download this; http://www47.zippyshare.com/v/70264800/file.html
Flash that recovery.img alone without any other part of ROM (that is Clockworkmod Recovery PORT)..
Now download this file; http://www47.zippyshare.com/v/52522093/file.html
That is ROOT for your phone, you need to put that file on your SD card and then put battery in your cellphone, pres Volume UP and Power Button together, that will send you to CWM recovery, from there install that file from your SD card, and restart your phone..
If it forces you to CWMR, just flash again the first six parts of e1920 ROM, and when you start your phone it should work fine..
But now You will have to SET your IMEI number becouse this is factory ROM, I am actually not sure how to do that, becouse I did not need that ( ..I have my CWM backups from before.. ..) ..so on that one you are on your own, but yes now you have ROOTed working phone again so it should not be that difficult to pull that off..
[UNBRICK]
Now I will post some pictures on how to unbrick your phone in case you get it hard bricked by trying out some other ROMs..
You will need to conect KCOLO and GND(or any other ground surfice on the phone), connect your phone with USB and start flashing the ROMs (like it is explained earlyer), pictures showing how to connect your phone and create a "jumper" are Pic1 and Pic2;
Pic1
Pic2
This will make your phone usable again.. and it is very stable.. maybe later I will try to make even better ROM, but for now this is it..
Special thanx to Mr. Dirk from ColonelZAP who helped me with unbricking the phone!!!
If this little tutorial helpd you just remember to hit THANX button.
*** UPDATE ***
Okay here is the way to enter you imei number;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW5lSVeMC4g
It will work for sure!
I solved it.
1. Power off device.
2. Hold power and vol down button.
3. Wait until lg logo appears.
4. Release power button only for one second while continuing to hold vol down. After the second elapsed press and hold the power button until it boots into recovery.
don't release both buttons.. keep volume down held. Remove USB cable to make it easier and make sure you're powered off before trying.
you also wont get into an actual recovery menu just have the ability to factory reset.
I've added a how-to boot into recovery section in my general g5 thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/how-to/info-autos-g5-thread-t3350648

So there's no way to get into the actual recovery yet?
I want to wipe the cache and see it it frees up some of the memory that's being used.
Right now I'm only showing 1.1 gb available of free ram out of 3.7 gb.

no u can only wipe data/cache through factory reset. not cache only.
only way for full recovery would be to unlock bootloader and install a custom recovery like TWRP.
Thanks, I figured it out. It's a bummer we can't wipe cache or dalvik with the stock recovery.
Hope we get TWRP soon and this whole fastbook issue figured out soon :fingers-crossed

Hi all, this is my first time trying to install a custom ROM to my Oneplus 6 phone and I'm stuck at this step:
Everything was fine until I choose "recovery mode" on my device after successfully run the recovery.img on my pc.
It brings me to a page to choose languages, then option of 1. wipe data and cache, 2. advanced, 3. exit.
I'm not sure which step I'd done wrong, I'm also following a video on YouTube:
It was all good but I do not see anything like in 02:50 of the video, my phone boot into this instead:

Sorry I am really new in this, it would be great if I could get any help for what I'd done wrong or is it something different with my phone.
For extra information, my phone is updated to androind 11 firmware.
Thanks,
Phoebe

UPDATE: I solved it by using "fastboot flash boot lineage.....recovery.img" then power off my phone and turn it on, then it shows the lineage recovery page. Then continue to do the copy partition steps and so on.
It's all good now.
