Anyone know of a zip to get back to kit Kat firmware? I used one to get to lollipop because my computer sucks and it's way easier. Not really sure why this method isn't used more.

Wow! That's what I get for reading while at work. Thanks for not blowing up. Haha

G900PVPU2BOD3 added Factory Reset Protection
Bootloaders are locked to BOD3 after upgrading, meaning all the BOA6 stock images are now unusable. I've been stuck using the MOAR rom since the update came out and can't go back to stock, along with a ton of other people. Now I guess we wait for someone to post a BOD3 stock image.

Many aplogies for my ignorance but I am running out of ideas. I wanted to try out Cyanogenmod 12.1 so I flashed philztouch recovery using ODIN and installed the latest CM 12.1 zip from official cyanogenmod download. I did take a backup prior to flashing CM however now I am unable to restore from the backup, it says it is not valid (!!!???).
Can someone please tell me how to get the my sprint GS5 back to completely stock; I don't need root anymore or custom recovery or any of that, I just want it back to how it was when I opened the box. I have all my pics/messages backed up so I am not afraid to wipe it completely. If someone can point me to a file to download and flash in ODIN or whatever needs to be done I will do it. If you need any information from my phone I will gladly provide it.
Please help, thanks!

You will need one of the full factory tars available from the development thread.
And I've read somewhere that you may need to wipe internal storage coming from CM so backup what you want to save.
Just a warning, if you flash anything newer than OA6, you will not be able to flash back to older firmwares.

Hi I am a newbie and I just followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2788632 and rooted my phone. Today I check android and it says there was an incremental update, after downloading it I clicked install, the phone rebooted into TeamWin Recovery Project. First in order to install this update must I wipe my phone? I tried to install the update zip file in the /cache but it gave a failure, something to do with md5 file not found and something.
Just to thanks...
Thank you @Calkulin for your thread about the 05Q update!

I downloaded the actual file provided by Calkulin and not the default updater.
then when you install update / boot recovery install with the zip that you downloaded yourself and it works.
@jake: But why dont you just use the Calkulin's rooted rom? It worked fine for me, putting it into TWRP, first that zip, then the "extra", then SU. Wipe cache/Dalvik.
I hope I have understand well your question, English is not my language..
Ringer volume keep lowering itself do you have this issue or not??
THANKS!
Update work well and the color is back, finally. I'm very happy about that!
THANKS!
RE Question: Can I flash these over cm12 nightly?
Q: Can i Flash this ROM over my CM12/Other Lollipop ROM?
A: Yes youi can, However....
You will need to do a full Wipe!
Also Lollipop comes with a new Radio which bricks/breaks the Proximity sensor
in Android Versions preceding 5.0 meaning....
Any Versions of android before 5.0 is not fully compatible with the radio from Android 5.0+.
Symptom of using the Android 5.0 Radio with previous Versions of Android Results in
the proximity sensor registering as being blocked.
Therefore screen off gestures (V Flashlight, O Camera, < ǁ > Playback Controls) will NOT work.
Also while in a call, your phones display will always turn off, and will not turn on until the call has ended.
Unless you program a hardware button to end the call you will not be able to end calls,
your screen will be unresponsive until the party on the other end of your call has ended the call...
Flashing a rom will NOT change the radio.
you must fastboot flash the radio intended for Android 4.4.4 for this rom.

Only wipe cache/Dalvik. "Install" the rooted rom by TWRP + extras. Update Super SU, wipe cache/Dalvik.
It's done, nothing will be lost and you don't have to upgrade step by step, this is a full rom.

why is my virus software blocking the download?
what's different on these images?
what is the meaning of that 2nd (XNPH05Q Radio, etc) image? it would be nice if there were description on the first post about images and what they have with them.

This ROM is awesome. I''m coming from stock CM11S and CM12 nightlies but was very unsatisfied with the functionality of the phone. Random restarts, wifi not working, camera taking odd pictures. Since friday I had no issues, all working fine.
Sample pic taken with CM12 nightly stock camera app, no filters.

It will break root, but if you have an unlocked bootloader, you can easily reinstall cwm, philz, or twrp (if you have to) and reinstall the latest supersu.zip. Also redownload or restore the supersu app.
Then, you'll have root again.

I have the OTA update before this one, and i unlocked boot loader and root the device. IT has a custom recovery.img flashed to install the root.
When i try to install this update, it pops into the update then immediately back to the recovery saying "invalid argument."
I assume its because the device has a custom recovery.img partition. My guess to fix this problem is put back the original recovery image?
Question is, how can i do this without wiping the device? Or if its necessary... how?
Thanks

You can't use the OTA that comes directly ota from Nvidia's servers because you've altered the recovery and system positions. It well fail.
Instead flash the "full" ota. The links to the full OTA are everywhere on xda since the release. The file is about 725mb . If link to one but I'm using tapatalk right now.
Remember that you have to flash supersu afterward to retain root.
Also, depending on your recovery, you may have to flash that as well.

Another user, on another thread, said that if you are rooted, flashing the original recovery wont work because the Shield is modified (rooted)
With the custom recovery, you need to flash a full 2.2 ota (is around here somewhere) and wipe cache & dalvik; then flash supersu and your custom recovery*
*Optional: some said they needed to flash the custom rec, some said they didn't flash it and kept their cust. recovery. Personally I'd flash it again.

TWRP Recovery issue
Good day, I have an LG G3 D850 rooted on 5.0.1 OTA with stock recovery from unjustified dev root. I flashed twrp from the instructions here with flashify and later tried with rashr, I Also tried to install it through cmd adb on my pc. When I try to reboot to recovery (from rashr/flashify, and even manually) I get a boot certification error and then I guess a boot loop. The screen goes black and the led flashes red and blue. I have to take the battery out to restart. I must be doing something wrong. Any ideas?

No, But I believe they have a fix here where you would have to flash a kit kat bootloader. From what I read this, method works. I just feel more comfortable waiting for it to be done with all lollipop coding.

I would Odin to OE2 so you get all the firmware bits. Then you can re-root and flashfire it.
So here's my situation. The company I work for is switching to at&t so I'm going to sell my phone.
I'm trying to avoid using Odin because I've got a guy that wants to buy right after work.

Can i go back to cm11s this way?

Hi! My question is lame, i know.. But here it goes anyway, i couldn't find a simple and direct answer..
Is less than a week that i have this phone, and i've been reading a lot of guides of how to rollback to cm11s.. the thing is i've flashed the latest CM12S signed zip ota through CM Recovery, everything is fine as i'm testing it right now..
My question is: if i want to go back to CM11S (in the case that i don't like CM12S or have some bugs), can i just wipe data / factory reset and cache in CM Recovery, and then flash the cm11s signed zip?
I haven't rooted or unlocked bootloader, is it relatively easy from what i read around here.. but i wondered if i had to go through all those steps (unlock bootloader, custom recovery, and then flash) or just doing the steps mentioned before will work just fine..
Is it better to fastboot flash or through custom recovery is fine also?
Thanks in advance!
PD: I'm also asking what do you think about some other 5.1.1 Lollipop ROM, custom kernel, etc.. I'm kind of a flashaholic and i would be able to install the custom recovery if would be really worth it
PD2: sorry for the bad english, i'm from argentina

Just unlock your bootloader now, the longer you leave it the more difficult it'll be to backup your internal storage beforehand. You should really have it unlocked anyway as insurance against anything going wrong with your phone. Once you have unlocked it you can flash TWRP recovery, then the correct procedure to go back to CM11S would be to perform a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik cache) and then just flash the zip. As far as custom ROMs for this device go, there are many excellent options to choose from that offer extra customisation that you won't find on the stock ROM.
Don't we have to flash the firmware prior to flashing back to CM11s to prevent a hardbrick? I'm looking into doing this as well, so I'm just asking for my own clarity.

Thanks! Stupid question, but can you please link me to the official zip? I already have TWRP installed, so it would be nice to revert sooner than later.

You'll find them all here:

Thanks!
Thank you both, i believe that this week i'll have some time and unlock the bootloader and flashing the TWRP recovery right away.. Then i'll see which ROM suits my use (i'm looking to battery friendly and high screen on time, will see the forums accordingly) and start the journey on this beautiful and well supported device
Also, thanks for the clarification of the modems.. Will be looking after that and make sure not to miss that step if required :good:

Once you've flashed the ROM, please do share your results. I am still unsure if reverting from a Lollipop ROM to CM11S will cause issues with the radio and/or a softbrick of the device, as I've read that this "can" happen.

Reverting from Lollipop to KitKat won't brick your device, whoever said that is wrong, and would have caused a brick because they didn't know what they were doing. You do need to make sure you flash a KitKat modem though, otherwise you'll have issues with the prox sensor.

Thanks Timaaa...last question, I'm downloading the latest modem from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/rom-stock-rooted-xnph05q-t3027033.
Is this the correct flashable modem file to use, or do you recommend another for XNPH05Q?
