Hi all.
So I just flashed a new build of Lollipop and made a backup of my homescreens with Mybackup Pro. I then set up the ROM and restored all my apps with Titanium, but after restoring my home screen with Mybackup Pro, I received this error:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So I wrote the Mybackup Team, and they nicely responded:
""""Hi
Yes very sorry Android 4.4.3 + no longer provide access to backup/restore the Android home screens. . We are hoping this changes with newer OS versions.""""
DAMN.
Normally I always used Nova and we all know it has a good backup restore function. But the Lollipop Touchwiz launcher is so smooth that I would have liked to keep it. But with my 500+ apps and the amount of ROM flashing I do, this will literally meaning setting all my home screens up again after every ROM update/flash since Mybackup Pro can't be used anymore.
Is there a Dev out there that could possibly mod the launcher to get back backup/restore functionality for Lollipop, or maybe tell me what needs to be done if it's an easy fix?
Would be really awesome for Touchwiz Launcher users on Lollipop.
Bump
Next time when flashing the lollipop roms, you dont have to delete the data (that has your apps and stuff) especially coming from kitkat roms...
- Cheers.

Energy ROM messaging screen and dialler.

i would very much appreciate it if anyone could develop or give me information on how to restore these two bits to the ones from the stock ROM, or if there is any cabs floating about on xda that do this, please tell me!!!
can anyone help?
please i don't like this new messaging layout!!!
suggest you post this in the actual rom thread!
Have you tried switching from classic mode to threaded in the messaging app?
ardsar, i will take your advice and post this in the ROM thread.
also i have tried tweaking the messaging options in both BsB Tweaks and also in advanced config, neither of these returns it to stock so the only way i can think to return to stock and also retain the rest of the energy rom features is to have an extracted cab for messaging.
Hello people ..
I have my Desire HD Rooted and running with Revolution 2.0.2 ( a custom rom if you dont know ) .. The problem is that now its version 2.0.6 ( an update )
i use bought MyBackUp Pro to backup my stuff when i update.. but im tired of starting over everytime an update comes ..
Is there any way to do it in an easier way?
Thanks
As far as I know it's easest and more correctly way to upgrade firmware.
Oh, more easy way to not backup the apps and data. But you will not like it, believe me.
I use appbrain as you have a list of installed apps which are synced to your device, after a reformat/upgrade you can go to app brain and sync and it see the programs arent installed and puts them all back on for you, you have to click OK all the time to install though
Titanium Backup the best soft for backuping/restoring software.
It can save/restore not only programs, but it's data too.
I can't find what else I need for such purposes.

U need to be root!
I recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro (AT&T version - SM-P907A) & I've been trying to install xposed framework, but it won't work. It doesn't give me any error message, it just says "app not installed". I'm no stranger to rooting, but this is the first time I've ever had to post a question on the xda developers site. Usually I can find what I'm looking for already, but not this time :crying:
I don't know if I'll be able to post a screenshot of what happens as I've just barely registered, but I'm gonna try. I also have a rooted Motorola Droid 4 and I rooted & installed CM12 on an old Kindle Fire HD as well. (However, that's now been sold...) Anyways, I tried installing Xposed Installer on my Motorola, and it worked, so I'm thinking the problem is with my note pro, but any help on how to fix it would be awesome
Thank you!!

You know what , the quickest method would be to changet rom and install the rom with xposed already installed by the way use titanium backup for making backups if you fear data loss
I'm sure a lot of people know about this but some may be unaware. I really don't like how Android 9.0 changed the scrolling of Recents to horizontal rather than vertical. This can be changed if your device is rooted and you're using a different launcher like Nova. Once you have your favorite launcher app installed just freeze, remove or rename the stock launcher and the recents will change back to vertical scrolling. I simply go to system/priv-app/NexusLauncherPrebuilt and add .bak to the end of the apk name then reboot.

Hello!
When changing rom/phone, an app like Swift Backup or Titanium backup saves a lot of time, copying all apps and their data in almost no time. However, after restoring a backup, I still have to input battery optimization settings per app, manually.
This is what I'm talking about (had to hide it because the image is huge for some reason).

Is there any way to make a backup for my battery optimization preferences per app and then dump it into a new rom? I would save sooooo much time
thanks for your time

Just tried, with stock options it doesn't copy the battery optimization settings, and I can't find and option to do so.
There seems to be an option that I had overlooked in Swift Backup settings to restore miscellaneous permissions and settings like Battery Optimization, but it ain't working for me. I'll contact the developer and update if a solution is found.
Edit: aparently, Oneplus does its own implementation of battery optimization, so you can't copy Battery Optimization settings with Swift. Still, just one rom change to an AOSP based one, and then the backup will work
