[Q] Which rom should i try - General Topics

I'm not comfortable with the ROM I have right now (resurrection remix) and several things actually don't work properly. So I'm running an rooted Samsung galaxy s 4 mini and I'm looking for a rom for daily use cthat of course offers stability, high customizability and possibly as many features as possible. Customization and stability is the most important for me. Anyone know a good one?

I don't have a specific rom to suggest... check out the device forum and read posts from folks who have first hand experience with your device... but in a general sense I've had great luck with the cyanogenmod releases. The stable releases are typically solid and well built, it might e a good place to start.

What's your favorite ROM and why..ATT-S4

There are enough roms now that we have a good choice. Please tell us about yours.
I am using Avatar ROM and it is great. The themes are very cool.
I'm on SHOstock now and I'm liking it. I'm on it mainly because of the hardware features that are not implemented in the other ROMs yet such as the hover preview in apps like SMS and the IR blaster functionality. I really want to move to an AOSP ROM, but I don't want to lose some of the stock features.
Task650's AOKP rom, and Goldeneye are the only ones I've tried so far.
I love the pure Android experience and have always loved AOKP based roms. The customization is endless. Not too mention, its very, very stable, and everything works fine. The Goldeneye rom is based entirely on the i9505 stock rom and this runs very well, as all the samsung crap is gone.
But if you're looking for speed and performance and a 100% lag-free device, go with task650 AOKP rom.
Sorry folks,
"favorite" roms and "best" rom threads are synonymous and thus are not allowed as they spiral into arguments about what is best for one vs another.
Users are expected to read and learn from all the development threads and reviewing the FAQ'a bout the ROM's themselves.

[Completed] paranoid vs miui v6

can u help me out which is better i have preloaded miui v6 developer rom or paranoid android
Hi there,
It is best for you to try and see which is better for you, many users like both and have different opinions.
It is often frowned upon to compare ROMs and declare one 'better' than another since developers put a lot of work in to their ROMs and it isn't nice to have yours be the 'worse' one, although this is subjective.

[Q] ROM Recs to suit specific need?

Good morning! Very excited to be joining the M8 community.
Had been using a OnePlus One last, but needed to switch to Big Red, so I picked up an M8. Great to see all the work underway.
I've been reading for the last few days, but I needed to ask a few questions that were best answered by the experience of the community than deciphering from serial histories in posts.
I need your quick help, if you could -- I'm hoping my karma from my OnePlus days transfers to the M8 community
1) I need the formula for rock solid stability on lollipop with the M8. Specifically, this means debloated, no FCs & the like, killer battery life -- and additional features are a bonus. The formula includes:
(a) ROM & release date (ie, some 5.1s are probably not as stable as their 5.0.x)
(b) matching Firmware version & VZW radio version
At this point, I'm biased slightly towards GPe/AOSP -- but happy to take a Sense 6/7 if that's the way to get stability.
For anyone with a OnePlus who happens to be reading, I found that SlimLP (Slim Roms) built by FusionJack (SlimSaber) version 5.0.2 was the right combo.
2) MultiRom -- used it and loved it on my OnePlus. I see that its available on the M8, but the thread suggests its got all sorts of problems. Anyone here using it successfully with this GPe ROM? Any tips to save me some pain? Or should I avoid it?
Thanks all!

Which ROM are you running?

The Z3 community seems to be spoilt for choice with a large number of official ROMS for the device. (surely more than any other phone. Coming from G2, it's amazing to see how Sony have managed to keep so many of the xda community on stock roms! )
Which one are you using?
I'm on the Concept Edition. The thread about this isn't as active as others in the General forum, but for me it's the perfect mixture balance between the official Marshmallow rom (not close enough to stock for me) and the Android N preview (tried preview 2, too many bugs at that stage).
No complaints about Concept really, it would be nice if it was a bit more customization like CM13 on other phones, but I'll be sticking with this ROM, hopefully Sony continue to update it.

to be honest, the Z3 community is far behind the community and effort the Galaxy S3 i9300 had.
Stock roms, stock based roms, official concept... all sony software.
i bought my Z3 mainly for the (fake) claimed "openness".
Z3 vs I9300 is a huge hardware improvement
software side, Sony has stable updates.
Modding side, Z3 is almost dead
Edit: my current ROM is the RXSW Marshmallow Edition 3.0.0

Which is the most stable ROM to install and use?

Hi, i just purchased this device during the sale as it represented great value for the price. Anyway, I despise MIUI and colorOS, sadly there are few, if any, decent budget stock android phones. So I would like to install a custom ROM that is the stablest. I've heard both Pixel Experience and Derpfest are stable, but would like to know what ROM would you guys recommend that I use for a stable experience?
Undoubtedly, RN7P (violet) is a great device with plenty of community support.
Pixel and its derivatives are great opton. Unless your focus is on any select features that suit you, most ROMs have more than what you may be looking for and they are pretty much stable. An exception here or there may happen for you know its literally impossible to test a code under all scenarios. But then you have devs support for each ROM when in crisis.
You may explore further by checking more on each custom ROM and its features/change log by clicking
here
A word of CAUTION: Since you plan to install a custom ROM on newly acquired device, be fully aware of the manufacturer warranty which will no more be valid with an Unlocked bootloader. So also, hope you are well versed/comfortable with the procedures involved in achieving it along with its perils.
NOTE: Recommeding any single ROM would be injustice to the rest Explore Thyself...
