Facing weird problems with battery - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
If I am on KitKat, and my battery level goes below 20%, my phone switches off and I cannot start it unless I charge it a little.
The same happens on lollipop but instead of below 20% it's shuts down as soon as the battery hits 10%.
Is there something wrong with the battery stats? How do I fix it? Or is something wrong with the battery itself?

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one. Also I'm experiencing slow dows which is making me crazy and I don't know what is causing the problem.

Something wrong with our battery stats?

My One shuts down when it reached 0% battery.

i had same problem let the phone die and left it on charge overnight problem now gone

But normally it shouldn't shut down at 20%...

I will be calibrating my battery today. Let's see.

A simple calliberation solved the issue. Thanks a lot everyone! Cheers

[Q] nexus s 4g battery

So I bought my phone just after the first day of release. While battery life isn't bad its still pretty questionable. But for now my main issue is the battery level. When charging my phone, the battery level never reaches 100%, it usually sticks around 97%. When I go to check in settings, the battery reads fully charged but the percentage says differently. I just wanted to know if this is an issue that anyone else and if a battery calibration will help fix this.
This had been addressed many times if you charge a battery to 100%.... they explode after a while. 97 is normal and good don't think to much about it your phone is fully charged

It's a samsung/gingerbread feature , to prevent causing any damage to the batteries
Ok cool. While on topic of batteries, what kind d of usage are you guys getting out of yours? I've noticed that I need to turn off internet throughout the day without getting too low when away from a charger. I know around school I have bad signal and there's not much I can do for that, buried there any other advice?

[Q] Problem with battery in charge

I just get my phone after a repair and I see a battery problem: when my phone is charging, about 82%, growth stops. If I shuts down my phone and I back on, it displays 100%.
does anyone know why and what to do about it ?
Thanks
Happened to me once, it was charging rather long than usually, stucked at around 80%, rebooted and it showed 100%. And it depleted normally.
Another time was after flashing a new rom, there was an issue so i rebooted while charging at around 80% as well, rebooted and it showed 100%, but it depleted rather fast from 100% to 90% so i knew it didnt "fully" charge. but charge it the next day and it was back to normal.
So imo it shouldnt be an issue. but hows your battery life?? does it depletes rather fast? U can try calibrating it with battery calibrater which can be downloaded from market. But i read that ds phones calibrates itself after each charge. so no worries there.
Happened to me as well
I avoid rebooting now (unless absolutely necessary) to see that happen again. Ignorance is bliss
I think it may be the battery starting to wear off ??

I wipe battery stats in recovery and now it's no problem
Thank you for your answers.
Maybe my batery begins to die but i will try to wipe the battery stats and i will see.:good:

Bad battery?? Max charge... continuing to drop.

Hi all,
I have noticed continued drop in my battery life max percentage over the last few months.
It used to charge to 100% and I'd get the "Remove to save power" popup but then it started charging to only to 97% max, now its only charging to 89% max. I can leave it hooked up for days and it won't charge past that!
The mV stats are at like 4230 or so when charged to 89% so I think its got proper capacity but the actual percentage is reporting wrong... this happens on any ROM, Samno's, Thiaiz etc.
I've tried wiping battery stats so many times both with the market app and with CWM. I've even tried "bump" charging with no luck.
I don't know what else to try... I wonder if its becoming a bad battery... Has anyone else experienced any similar issues?

Me.
I said to myself "Screw this I don't care anymore." and that was it.
I don't care what it shows anymore.
hehe yeah, I guess I should do the same, so I don't end up going more crazy than I am already!
Though... there still must be a technical reason for it... hopefully something reversible.
I have the same problem can be recharged up to a maximum of 4% I tried with CMW and batery calibration but without results
Lol :/ try it with a fresh kdz...?

Your battery is probably going bad.
Charge it to 90% instead of 100%. It can extend the life of the battery.

[Q] Battery issue.

I have a strange battery issue in my phone. My phone switches off at 5% or sometimes even at 12%. When I restart, It shows 0%. Anyone else also facing similar problem?
Anyone with a solution?

Hell yea!! Even i have the same problem... It goes off at 5% and restarts with 0% battery remaining....
Maybe v should both try a battery calibrating app from play store..
It is completely normal to happen. Depending on the surrounding the phone is kept in it switches off automatically to conserve battery drain, so it can happen anytime when phone reaches low battery or critical state. It is the device's method to prevent battery drain as a draining battery can completely destroy the battery and the mobile, so dont worry make sure power saving is on and keep your phone charging

Yes!
The level at which the phone will get off depends on how you are using and your nearby surroundings, if its too hot or too cold it will go off soon, also if you are using net and gps or any other battery consuming operation it will be off sooner than you think, I am too on stock and sometimes it does happens and sometimes not....
PS when you switch on your phone, it consumes some % of battery just like it happens when you start a car so it will go down a little bit.
Oh! I see!! Thanks for d info....
Thanks mate. That was really informative.

Issue with battery info on 44S.

Hello, how are you?
I have an issue with my OPO.
It is currently running 44S.
The issue is:
I charge it fully with the original wall charger.
Unplug and then star using the phone.
The battery remains on 100% for longer than usual.
Then it starts coming down.
When the battery gets around to 30%, the phone switches off.
I plug it and there is the message that the battery is too low and that I should charge it a bit before turning the phone on.
This then repeats itself after I charge.
My observation is that the battery remaining info is not correctly calibrated and that 30% should actually be 0%.
The battery life is normal. It just doesn't give me the correct info on battery remaining.
Anyone else have this issue?
Ideas on how to fix it?
Cheers!

how many charge cycles you been through? let it fully drain and then charge too 100% without stopping a few time. also, there are a few battery drain/calibrator apps to help you in the play store
