Lollipop has finally arrived for SM-N9005, here's how you can achieve awesomeness! - Galaxy Note 3 General

Since no-body has started a thread for Lollipop on our beloved SM-N9005's, I thought I'd start one for us
Here's what you need in order to achieve awesomeness:
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005 ONLY!)
The firmware file located here: https://mega.co.nz/#!qk12UYYB!4fg39KkeatkTtcShS4rUljWpU1rGnMC9XL3C17z8Crk
Or here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/43185/N9005XXUGBOA5_N9005VFGGBOA2_VOD.zip/ (UK Vodafone) others can be found at http://www.sammobile.com
Odin - located here:http://www.mediafire.com/download/vwuqru9m1jp9wbw/Odin3_v3.09.zip/
The Samsung drivers installed, if not they can be found here:http://androidxda.com/download-samsung-usb-drivers
1. First you need to download the firmware package, once done, extract
2. Then you need to install the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 drivers (if you have not already done so, if you have, proceed to step 3)
3. Extract Odin.
4. Open Odin using right click, run as administrator.
5. Their is a .PIT located in the firmware folder you extracted in step 1. This is for the 32GB variant ONLY! Using this on the 16GB variant will most likely result in a brick! If you have the 16GB variant, skip to step 6. If you have the 32GB variant, flashing with the .PIT is optional. If you wish to use it, click pit in Odin and locate the extracted file from step 1, and select the .PIT.
6. Click Bootloader and select the file that starts with BL.
7. Click PDA AND select the file that starts with AP.
8. Click CSC and select the file that starts with CSC.
9. Click Modem and select the file you haven't yet selected.
10. Then you need to power off your device.
11. Once done, we need download mode, to enter this you need to hold Vol Down + Home + Power at the same time. Once done you will be prompted with a screen with a load of writing about custom roms etc, press Vol Up to continue.
If you're using the .PIT (remember 32GB variant ONLY!!) On the left hand side, make sure auto reboot is checked, repartition is checked, F. Reset Time is checked and Phone Bootloader Update is checked.
Once all these details are entered correctly and you're happy to proceed, press start.
Let it do its business, it usually takes around 8-9 mins to complete. Once done you're running pure awesomeness on your device.
Please Note: I can't stress enough that the .PIT file is for the 32GB variant ONLY!!!!! if you're running the 16GB variant, DO NOT USE THE .PIT FILE!!!!!!!!
Also, I take no responsibility for bricked or damaged devices, by participating in the above, you take all responsibility for yourself and for your device. You have been warned my friends. Happy flashing!

It's not as in depth as my thread

does the room working perfectly ?
will it trip knox ?

Works like a treat mate. It won't trip knox because it's official Samsung

The Batterylife is, in my opinion, quiet amazing.
Got nearly 4 hours of screen time, with highest brightness, nearly 2 hours phone callin, more then one hour of skype, more then one hour 9gag and wlan/mobile data permanantly on.

Did anybody try the towelroot method by flashing the ND3 Kernel and reflashing back this kernel ?

what about video camera and playback of vids??Mine was freezing on startup and then rebooting

There's a thread for lollipop, why double thread? Who will measure depth?we or mod?

Video recording works fine here buddy

did you do full update ?
as in with the boot loader?

My BL,CP,CSC and UMS options in Odin 3.09 are shaded out and can't be selected.
Can I just add the zipped package to AP and flash that with the PIT file?
Windows 10 preview, Note 3 N9005 3UK

Does this ROM have pt-br language? Works normally in Brazil?

Official ROM or Leaked?
I can't quite figure out one thing, this ROM is an official one or a leaked one? Cause I don't see anything in sammobile for N9005

How to make volume button not activate screen

So I have a question......My husband loves his phone except for one thing, when the volumn rocker is pressed it activates the screen. So after doing some research it seems the only way to change this is to root it. True or not???? Here is the information from his about phone screen:
samsung sgh-i727
android version 4.0.3
baseband version 1727ucld2
kernal version 3.0.8
bild iml74k.ucld2
If there is a way to deactivate this without rooting that is preferable but I have been unable to find any answers to that.
Where do I start and what do I need if so? Thank you.

If, in fact you are on a leaked version of the firmware, you need to go into your apps drawer and see if the Kies app is installed. If it is, you can try to use it to update to the official release of the ICS firmware.
But before you do the above, just for giggles, look in your apps drawer and see if Superuser and Rom Manager are installed. If they are there then chances are the device is already rooted. If it is, let me know and we will work forward from there. If it is rooted you can install a kernel that does not have volume rocker wake feature to solve your problem.

OK, here are a couple of links. One is to a tutorial here on XDA that will walk you through using Odin to flash stock ICS firmware from AT&T.
But first, here is the link to download the firmware (ROM) that you will need -> http://www.hotfile.com/dl/162779401/27c699c/I727UCLF6_I727ATTLF6_ATT.zip.html. Just choose "Regular Download" from the page that shows up. I know this is a very large download and will take quite some time to download from Hotfile servers.
And here is the link to download Odin, the program that you will use to flash the stock firmware to the phone. -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=925569&d=1330549534
Download both of these packages to your computer, not your phone. And be sure you have an archive extracting program such as 7zip installed on your computer. It is free software and you can download the 32bit or 64bit version, whichever you need, from the following link. -> http://www.7-zip.org/.
Next, here is the link to the tutorial for flashing this firmware with Odin -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652398
Scroll down until you find section #1 that is titled "1. HOW TO RESTORE STOCK FIRMWARES".
Follow the instructions to the letter, other than the file downloads, as those I have previously provided above in this post. I am assuming that you have already downloaded these prior to implementing the following tutorial. Once you have gone through this procedure and you have a fully functional Skyrocket, please hit the thanks button for Vincom as he is the one that took the time to work up this tutorial for anyone that may need it.
Happy flashing ..... HTR
The following is only copy/pasted from the tutorial link above. Please use the instructions from that thread only. I only posted an example below so you would know where to start in that thread.
DO NOT! CHECK "REPARTITION" IN ODIN! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
1. Download Odin 1.85
2. Download the stock TAR for your device - see section below.
3. Extract(with 7-ZIP) the contents of odin-185.zip to a folder.
4. Extract(with 7-ZIP) the contents of the stock firmware file to a folder, do not change the name of the extracted MD5 file.
5. Run Odin 1.85.exe from the folder you extracted it to.
6. Prepare Odin: Check "auto-reboot" and UNCHECK ALL OTHER OPTIONS.
7. Only Click "PDA" and select the firmware file you extracted, it will have a md5 extension.
8. How To Put your device into Download Mode: (download mode is NOT the same as recovery mode)
a. Connect the USB cable to your PC, but NOT your device.
b. Remove the battery.
c. Reinsert the battery.
d. Press and keep down both Volume Up and Volume Down keys then insert the USB cable into your device. (On Rogers phones It's just Vol Down.) DO NOT RELEASE THE VOLUME BUTTONS UNTIL INSTRUCTED
e. When You see the screen warning you about installing a rom w/a yellow triangle RELEASE the volume key(s)
f. Now press and release the volume "up" key, you should now be at the Download Mode screen w/odin recognising your phone. -See Pics Below-.
9. Click Start in Odin, it will flash the firmware, give it approx. 10mins. When its done flashing it will autoreboot the phone. Thats it, you're done.
THank you. I will try this tonight when I get home and let you know how it goes.....
Well finally got around to trying this.....phone is recognized by computer but Odin does not see it? Now what?
Leave odin for now, it seems you have at&t phone, so you should try this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749021
should be easier.

Samsung Galaxy S4 root

Hello XDA,
There are 2 root mehods in this thread scroll down to check the second method...
First...
I have found the a root for the new galaxy S4. Kindly follow the instructions in order to root ur galaxy s4.
The root file utilises the system dump of the device. The root method works only on the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 running on official Android 4.2.2 XXUAMC6 Jelly Bean but not on the quad-core Snapdragon 600 variant with model number I9505.
Galaxy S4 users who wish to root their handset using the root file may follow my step-by-step guide below.
Let me remind u that I will not be held liable for any mishap, therefore, proceed at your own risk.
Pre-requisites
1) Download and install USB Driver for Samsung Galaxy S4 on the computer.
2) Verify that USB Debugging Mode is enabled which will allow to connect the phone with the computer and use the Android SDK with it. [Press Menu>> Settings>> Applications. From there navigate and click on Development option and ensure the USB Debugging Mode is turned on.]
3) Create a backup of all data of the phone.
4) The battery of the device should have above 80 per cent charge.
5) The root method works only on the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 running on Android 4.2.2 XXUAMC6 Jelly Bean; applying this root to incorrect variants will brick the device.
Steps to root Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 on Android 4.2.2 XXUAMC6 Jelly Bean
1) Download I9500XXUAMC6 pre-rooted firmware for Samsung Galaxy S4 to the computer and extract the zip file
2) Download Odin v1.85 which will help to root the Jelly Bean firmware
3) Turn off the Galaxy S4 and enter Download Mode. Press and hold Volume Down + Home buttons together and then press the Power button until the construction Android robot and a triangle are seen. Press the Power button again to enter Download Mode
4) Run Odin on the computer
5) Connect the phone to the computer using USB cable while it is in Download Mode. If the device is connected successfully, one of the ID: COM boxes will turn yellow with the COM port number. This step might take some time
6) Select the files mentioned below to install on the phone
a) Click on 'PDA' and select file with 'CODE' in its name
b) Click on 'Phone' and select file with 'MODEM' in its name
c) Click on 'CSC' and select file with 'CSC' in its name
d) Click on 'PIT' and select the .pit file
[Note: Ignore the last three steps in case such files are not found.]
7) Ensure the 'Auto Reboot' and 'F Reset Time' options are selected in Odin. Also ensure the 'Re-Partition' option is selected in case the .pit file is being used
8) Double check everything and finally click the 'Start' button in Odin. The installation process will begin and take a few minutes to complete
9) After the installation process is completed, the phone will restart automatically. Once the home screen appears on the device, unplug the USB cable
Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 is now successfully rooted on Android 4.2.2 XXUAMC6 Jelly Bean firmware. Open the app drawer in the phone and search for an app called Superuser. To ensure that the above root method is installed and working correctly, verify with the Root Checker app from Google Play Store.
If u found this guide useful/helpful kindly hit the thanks button
thank u for ur appreciation and support :good:
and please let me know if this method worked for u.. coz if it didnt i might be able to find another way to help u.

I9500XXUAMC6 pre-rooted firmware u can test this firmware ? down fail! odin 1.85 odin 3.07
With the S2 Skyrocket, having "re-partition" checked in Odin assured a brick. In #7 you said to have re-partition checked. I just want to make sure that having it checked was the correct option for the GS4.
I don't think this fits in original development. This section us for works done from source/scratch like cm or kernel from source.I consider it more of just a tutorial to flash a rom on Odin than a guide to root. This fits general much IMHO.
Also the rooted rom by as i9000 is a single file rom which should always go into pda.And no repartition unless you have pit file added.(Read your point below the point (d).But still wanted to ensure it )

Only if you have a pit file file otherwise leave it unchecked. That what he is saying.
@OP Did u make this?
S4 INFO
So, has anybody actually tested this ?
We've tested this on the I9505 (literally weeks ago), and simply injecting root does not work - there is further firmware protection against gaining root privileges, it is not just a matter of injected the root files.
So unless you have some damn good evidence this actually does work ...

Firmware protection against root?! Samsung have really changed their feelings towards rooting phone. Seems a strange thing to do seeing as people like yourselves will surely undo their work and bypass it.
Hope they didn't spend too many man hours on it. Or should I say wasted.
Good luck!

Ignore the language settings, the message was in Chinese and was changed to English so all can read it
In this case root enabled adbd was stopped and no did not get root because the phone force stops.

[FIRMWARE] Flash KitKat the EASY Way!!!! or Go back to JellyBean

KitKat the EASY Way!!!!
Or, go back to 4.2.2 JellyBean
If you are going to return your phone back to warranty, I would suggest this method in this thread as it does a COMPLETE wipe of your device and puts it back to 'Factory'. It removes Root Flags so it does not show having been rooted, and removes ALL data.
Disclaimer: This is not MY method, but a method I used. The information and files have been figured out over time by many individuals and it's been combined in this thread.
This thread is to help Noobs AND Veterans to flash their ATT D800 LG G2 to KitKat. This will be very spelled out, and I’ve even included a video (see below), so NO Mistakes. Yes, that means you!
PLEASE refer to the Video Below before asking questions, as too many questions get a little overwhelming.
Warning! Please Read!
This WILL erase everything on your phone and put it back to FACTORY STATE, so be sure you’ve backed up!
Ok, first thing you need to do is download the version you want. I’ve got KitKat 4.4.2 version D80020c, and I’ve got JellyBean 4.2.2 version D80010o. These are VERY LARGE files, so be patient, although I am able to get as much as 6MB/s download speeds from this server.
BIG THANKS TO bigfau for the KitKat TOT and DLL files!!!
Download Installer - KitKat 4.4.2 D80020c - This Flashes Stock KitKat, WITHOUT Root, and WITHOUT Recovery. - Use TowelRoot and AutoRec to get Root and Custom Recovery. - Single File LARGE archive. KK MIRROR DOWNLOAD
D80020c Split Archive Download - This is the same archive as above, but split into smaller pieces for easy download.
Download Installer - JellyBean 4.2.2 D80010o - Single File LARGE archive. JB MIRROR DOWNLOAD
D80010o Split Archive Download - This is the same archive as above, but split into smaller pieces for easy download..

18. It takes a while for the phone to restart, but it will boot to Android. Wait for the flash program to finish and it will turn your phone back OFF. And give you a ‘SUCCESS”
19. Close FlashTool
IF for some reason, the LG FlashTool does not finish 100%, and you get a ‘Fail’, as long as your phone has now rebooted into Android, you don’t need to worry about this. Just close the program, and enjoy your Freshly Restored LG G2!
For anyone having issue with the device check not passing due to mismatched device (caused by flashing a Custom ROM with Different device model ID to your D800: ie, D801 to a D800 or vice versa.), try using the attached dll file instead of the device specific one. It has been reported to work for many... You will need to extract the zip file to get the dll.
good stuff bud!

Just so you know, in step #4 you have 4.4.2 twice But great job man! You might want to use the 10d 4.2 as that is the one that recoveries work best with. Just a thought.

Thank you for that. FIXED.
EDIT: Why is 10d easier? Is it due to the script in ioroot22? I keep flashing 10o, then use ioroot22, then use FreeGee to install TWRP. Easy Peasy. BUT, I might have modified ioroot22 script for that, I don't remember ATM.

I haven't had my G2 very long so I haven't been able to test myself, but just looking around the forum seems the 10o firmware causes boot issues with some custom ROMs. I could be wrong though. Maybe the problem doesn't exist anymore and I'm reading old info.

Ioroot and then freegee TWRP route works on 80100o. Unfortunately, flashing ROMs (stock based and flex based especially) causes issues. I do not think anyone figured out the reason but going to 80100d solves the issue.

So I understand... If you flash Stock 10o, then Root and Flash Custom Recovery, you have issues flashing other ROMs? But if you Flash back to Stock 10d, you do not have issues flashing Custom ROMs?
Also, FYI: ioroot23 was just released... I don't know if that will make a difference. It has 10o support built in.

Yes that is correct.
I am not sure if rooting was an issue. It was the recovery that seemed to be the issue. Not sure though and I guess since 10d worked not many people bothered to investigate further.

i can confirm this is true. i lg flash tool'ed back to 10o, while i could get root i couldnt get twrp or philz recovery to work. when i went back to 10d with lg flash tool, i could get root and recovery to work. i even loki'd a couple recoveries and the recoveries wouldnt only give me a black screen when i tried to enter them on 10o. and i used ioroot23 to do all of this with.
Is this tool safe to use if the phone shows rooted after you go into download mode? Although I swore I unrooted the phone.
Took a chance and did this anyway and all is good. Upgraded successfully! Thank you so much for providing this tool! It was such a pain searching for a serial for lgflashtool. Will be donating asap for the help. Thank you thank you thank you. Directions were perfect as well and very easy to follow.
Downloads not working for me... 68% complete is furthest I've gotten. Tried seven or 8 times.

Success! after using this I called AT&T and they pushed me another small update then after that the kitkta update. I know there's no recovery available yet right?
Sorry Everyone, I've been out of town and only on my phone, but mostly busy with family stuff.

I'm sorry, I have been away from home. Just read this. Yes, you are fine if your phone is rooted. This Flash will remove Root. As mentioned in the First post, there is currently no way to root KitKat, (Unless I've missed something since last night). So root, then go to KitKat.

That is Correct, no Custom Recovery. Not unless something has appeared since last night when I last went through the forums.
Usefull guide thanks
but i think there is not a difference between those Flash DLL i had 20130904 and just freshy flashed KitKat
also if anyone cares about a LG Flash tools "PASS" then while it stops on 80-94% and boot into OS itself, do a Factory Reset of phone and it will check a Factory Flag (it sets to 5) and gives message a PASS

Tried to root, failed, total noon here.

Hey guys, today I tried to root my t-mobile s7 from a random YouTube video I found. After flashing a file from Odin, my phone got stuck in a boot loop.
I did a factory reset from recovery and the phone started up fine.
Now here's my problem, after doing a reset, the first thing I noticed was that while I was booting up the phone. It showed the usual Samsung Galaxy S7, followed by an unlocked padlock with the words "Custom" under it.
2nd issue. My phone just looks a lot different than when I originally bought it. It is also very sluggish, experiencing a lot of lag.
I've looked up how to go back to stock firmware but I'm not sure which one to use.
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm currently on the PG1 firmware.
It appears you still have the eng kernal... You can just re-run the root.bat and install SuperSu, or if you want complete stock follow the steps below:
*Also Before you try this turn it off and let it charge for 45 min-1 hour or so...*
1. Volume Down + Power + Home to put it in download mode
2. Then press Volume Up to continue past the warning screen even if nothing is displayed.
3. Grab The Latest Version of Odin here
4. Then Download The Stock Firmware, in this case you will need whichever version you have (if you do not remember you can just download the latest available firmware) Download Firmware and then extract it. (If you have 5 different files in the zip go to step 8)
5. Then install Samsung device drivers(if not already).
6. Start Odin, Plug in the S7, Load in the tar.md5 in the AP/PDA and uncheck Auto Reboot and Repartition.
7. Let the phone restart... VIOLA!!!
8. Alternatively if the zip has 5 files... They should all start with the corresponding buttons in Odin For Example:
AP_G930TUVS3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
BL_G930TUVS3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CP_G930TUVS3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CSC_TMB_G930TTMB3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
HOME_CSC_TMB_G930TTMB3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
After they are entered into Odin you hit start and after a few minutes ... It should be fixed....
Let me know if you have any further questions or issues...
The custom is normal since you flashed a modified kernel.
Follow this instructions here for rooting / unrooting.
Most of these applies to Tmobile S7, expect specific ones mentioned for Verizon.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
Thanks man, I'm gonna try to finish rooting. I thought my phone was just screwing up and the first part of the rooting process failed, since the bootloader.
I also tried sammobile and the download won't start.
If I were to download an earlier firmware, would I be able to update it to the most recent one?
Is it possible to revert to stock without wiping data?

No you cannot. Or rather, science threw bootloader is still locked, your phone will not boot if you try.

How to Root, install TWRP, Xposed on Samsung A9 SM-A9000 2016

I have my Samsung Galaxy A9 SM-A9000 bought here in the Philippines.
you need to download the following; with their links provided
Odin3 v3.10.7 (im using)
Stock 5.1.1 latest A9000ZZH1APD3 HK TGY firmware using Samfirm
Stock 6.0.1 A9000ZZH1BPI3 HK TGY firmware using Samfirm
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647
download TWRP
A9000-TWRP-PA7_kernel.rar
BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328.zip
for Xposed framework
XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk
xposed-v86.0-sdk22-arm64-custom-build-by-wanam-20160709.zip for Lollipop
xposed-v86.1-sdk23-arm64-custom-build-by-wanam-20160904.zip for Marshmallow
Procedure.
1. Using Odin3 flash your downloaded firmware HK A9000ZZH1APD for SM-A9000, phone will reboot, wait until it return to the main screen.
2. reboot and press Center, Vol Down and Power button (download mode) and flash the A9000-TWRP-PA7_kernel.rar, then wait until it return to the main screen.
3. reboot and press Center, Vol UP and Power button, you'll be in the TWRP recovery, flash BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328.zip this will take times, it will shows that it is updating with green background, just wait again until it will return to main screen. *i swear just wait until it returns to the main screen*
4. reboot and press Center, Vol UP and Power button, you'll be in the TWRP recovery, flash xposed-v86.0-sdk22-arm64-custom-build-by-wanam-20160709.zip then it will reboot again, it will take longer *or not* wait until it return to main screen.
5. then install XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk
Voila! you have rooted with TWRP recovery and installed xposed framework. oh by the way if you're looking for effective adblocker for xposed, google pl.cinek.adblocker-1.8-free-www.kekaku.com.apk the most effective adblocker had been created! if you want to get rid and to disable pre-installed Knox on your Samsung, flash KNOX-FREE_TEKHD on TWRP recovery.
hopefully this will be helpful to Samsung Galaxy A9 SM-A9000 2016 users and also, I hope my account has enable uploading files...
enjoy!
to admin, how to enable uploading features on file servers of XDA? thanks!
This looks great, if I don't sell mine in forthcoming days, I'll definitely do it...thx

up! I got the HK 6.0.1 Marshmallow update, same procedure. in regards of having error on Google Play Store, YOU MUST NOT update the PLAYSTORE if it showing in your notification, restart for at least 2-4 times, it will not show the notification that requires to upgrade it. just a FAIR WARNING, if you accidentally upgrade the Google Play Store, it will give you error. the remedy, try again re-flash with the latest firmware, then this time avoid updating the erring app.
good luck!
Thanks for your advice! Questions:
1. already have version Odin3_v3.12.3. I can use this version, or should I use Odin3 v3.10.7?
2. The SD card need to be removed from the phone, (In the process of firmware update) or its better to format?
