I have tried on several computers, different ports and no help.
On the first connection to a PC not connected before windows reports "USB device not recognized" problem.
After that every time I connect the phone to the same computer the phone itself only recognizes that it is using USB charging mode, it does not recognize the computer connection (known by the USB icon on android system tray) even with "Ask upon connection option checked".
Even when I manualy change the Android mode in Settings --> PC Connection from MTP to PTP or even LG software, nothing happens.
Definitely there seems to be a problem with the phone, but I don't believe it's a software but a firmware problem.
Please help if anyone knows what to do.

You need to install drivers on the pc for the device. You didn't mention doing that. Otherwise the computer will not know what it is.
You need to get the drivers from the LG website.

Hi. I want to fix my USB connection.
S2 I9100 charge via USB to PC work (however, Kies or Odin is unable to find and connect properly).
Action steps done:
1. Updated Windows 7 with Samsung drivers - still does not see it
2. *#7284# -- checked settings to see if USB is in PDA mode.. - YES
3. Unplug and replug USB.. still nothing pops up via PC and device.
Q:
1. Where can I go to fix it?
2. Is it a missing driver?
3. What is the hardware or software called (terminology so I can search)?
4. Is there other samsung codes I am able to use to fix it?

Similar issue like this: i605 Note 2 to PC will not connect. ?
You first have to specify your exact device model name, as there are different available for "Note 2".
Then try to use a different USB port on PC, another USB cable, a different PC, install Kies again with phone connected to PC to get the needed drivers installed automatically.
Is something displayed on the screen of the Note 2 while connected to PC?
Maybe you have enable Mass Storage mode and have to confirm it on your device before you can access it from PC.
And for Odin to recognize it, you have to kill all Kies' processes (in Task Manager) before starting Odin. And the Note 2 has to be booted in download mode.

Hey Guys, unfortunately I'm not a tech savy, I successfully rooted my Xperia Z3, all went well until I tried flashing one of Cyanogenmod CM11 Roms. Now it does'nt respond to anything at all. Volume keys/ power buttons are useless. However when its connected via usb to my laptop, It connects after 10secs though it only says "unknown device" (The USB device connected has malfunctioned yadda yadda yadd). If anyone knows anything on what I can do, please help. Thank you in advance.

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The best place to get help is in your device's specific forum here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3 They are the experts on your device. I would also try going to device manager on your pc with your device connected to it. Do you see an icon with a yellow exclamation mark on it. If so right click it and go to where it lets you choose from a list on your computer. Choose android adb composite interface.

Can anyone help me on Getting My LG G PRO F240L back, it stucks and always restarting on CWM RECOVERY saying "Device Unlock! So Boot Success!"
I've tried to Flash KDZ LOLLIPOP using LG FLASHTOOL 2014 but stucks on processing . I Bet the problem is the "UNIDENTIFIED DEVICE -> NO DRIVER FOUND" When connecting it to Windows 7 Ultimate, I went to Device Manager and sees "UNKNOWN DEVICE" I Uninstalled it and Tries to Connect again to DOWNLOAD MODE but Unfortunately " NOT RECOGNIZED " the device I have changed different USB CABLES and restart the Laptop Several Times . I manage to UPDATE the DRIVERS but the Problem was I can't connect the Pocketwifi via Wireless Connectivity, I can Connect it with The Cable Inserted on the Laptop but Where the Phone should Get into Download Mode by the Laptop IF there's an inserted pocketwifi on it. I Have a soft bricked spreadthrum that im trying to unbrick using the spd upgrade tool but everytime i try connecting my phone to pc(several computers) using usb cable i get the MTP USB DEVICE FAILED error..I have already installed spreadthrum usb drivers manually and they are even listed in device manager.Please help
