Hello, I don't use screen lock , and in android 5.0 is not possible to deactivate it, I have to choose between swipe-pattern-pin-password and in 4.4.4 it had the option to disable it.
It's annoying because before I unlocked the phone with button and shows direct what I was using (maps or whatever) in 4.4.4, now I always have to swipe everytime and with gloves it's a pain, specially if you need to check the phone frequently if using maps or similar.
Thanks

That option is disapeared in Android 5.0, at least for me. It existed in 4.4.4

If you have a guest user enabled, delete it. Having Guest enabled forces you to have some type of screen lock. Either way, you're going to have to at least swipe once to unlock with Lollipop.

Hi,
Is this a known issue on Android 4.03 Official?
I can't uninstall an app, because I can't disable its administrator privileges. These settings are gone after applying the FOTA!
Not noticed it but I did a factory reset after getting the update

Thanks. I didn't. Interesting. Can anyone else confirm/reject this please?
Nope, i can just remove apps and everything. Didn't do a factory reset after OTA update.

But do you see the "Device Administrator" settings?
You mind trying to install this app (SwitchPro Widget) and then uninstall it?

i see the device administrator settings. Can't install the app because it's a paid app and i don't own a creditcard
Factory reset was the solution indeed!
Where's My Droid is the problem
I noticed after installing Where's My Droid and granting it Device Administration privileges, the option itself disappeared from the Security menu of my phone, along with Unknown Sources option. WTF - I reset my phone over a dozen times (literally) before I realized what caused it to keep disappearing. There's no telling how many apps out there that might cause these options to disappear after being added as a Device Administrator. So please, test my conclusion...reset your phone and if the options reappear, try installing the app that caused the options to disappear (most likely a security app or phone locator app) then grant it Device Admin again and see what happens. If I'm right, please hit the thank you button. Peace!!
I don't see this menu even I did factory reset+wipe data in stock recovery ... I've tried to check it on clean phone without any application installed and it is not there - just setting for "Unknown sources" but not Device administrators ..

Me either until you install an app like Where's My Droid, then go to the Security section of WMD> Remote Wipe or Remote Lock. DO NOT 'SET DEVICE ADMIN' but this should put the option in the Settings>Security menu of the phone. but after uninstalling WMD it goes away. maybe you can make use of it for programs that need device admin privleges while WMD is installed, hopefully it dosen't disappear if you authorize a different app, then hopefully uninstalling WMD wont remove the option if a different app already has admin rights. Are you pickin up what I'm layin down? I know it sounds crazy, thumbs down ICS

You have found the root cause of this "problem".. It is not a bug it is feature
That did it for me, too!
Just to confirm, I found a small app on the Play Store that wanted Device Admin rights (an app called "Lock Screen" which just provides a button to lock the device), went in to it's settings, enabled Device Admin rights and then the 3rd Party Apps and Device Administrator settings appeared in the Security Settings. Thank you!

In this google Play homescreen? I don't see a "download icon." I'm sure it is there, but i'm having trouble locating the setting to turn off auto update for only one specific app. Where on the homescreen is this download icon. Thanks for your response

I am getting this exact screen from multiple days on my Moto G ....Any one else seeing this in India or elsewhere?
I saw this when I installed an adblocker app that set up a proxy. Checking for updates did not work through the proxy. Have you installed an adblocker or anything else that messes with the network connection?
It's possible to add an exception to adblockers for the motorola update site, but I don't remember what the site was - you'd have to search for it.
Yep I had that issue when I was on Stock ROM.
Here's what I'd do to temporarily fix it (meaning you'll have to do it each time):
Go to Motorola Device ID > Options > Unlink Account.
It'll warn you but don't worry about that. Immediately after you confirm the action, go to Settings via the Quick Settings panel and then to About Phone > System Updates.
And voila! It should check for updates successfully.

Hello all,
Since the last firmware update (G930FXXS1DQHN) of my S7 G930F I have issues with seeing the folder content of several maps in my stock (Samsung) email client v4.0.87.0. Apparently, I am not the only one and have it with several (exchange) accounts. Before the latest firmware upgrade all worked fine.
The provided stock email in the firmware seems to be pretty old. Many newer releases of Samsung Email are available, but unfortunately, I cannot install neither of them (package conflict with already exsisting package error), hoping an upgrade of the stock client solves my issues.
Is there a way out to upgrade the stock Samsung email client on a non rooted S7? Thanks in advance for replies.
For info: my T813 tablet running stock email v4.0.70.0 does NOT have this issue of not displaying folder content of some email folders.

Any more detailed info availble how to tackle this one?

It is the known fix for the "Package name conflict" error when trying to update stock apps, works without fail for everyone up until now
Either disabling or enabling secure startup and then rebooting allows the install, doesn't seem to care which one you do as long as it is the opposite of whatever you had set when it wasn't working
Try Disabling Secure Startup > Boot to recovery > Clear cache partition > Reboot > Install APK
If that fails, enable Secure startup again and reboot once more, try installing apks
Keep in mind, if you reboot without toggling secure startup, apps will fail to install again on next boot, they only install after you toggle that setting and then reboot, rebooting normally will break it again
Well, now it is clear and it worked. Updated to version 4.2 now . Thanks for the good tip!!! It will make my colleagues happy as well.
:good:
Funny to see that this trick does NOT work on my Tab S2 T813, unfortunately.

Rooted devices have no secure startup option
Not sure how you would install the updates apps without it, unless you know how to replace the stock ones manually using a root file explorer

Agree latest Phone 2.3.01.26 apk version freezes, i reverted to this Phone 2.3.00.20 version.
Just go to sammobile and download it, it works too even the new latest touchwiz with scroll app drawer
its the same bro, just freezes....
I have the new contacts apk but the Phopne apk doesn´t shows Places tab...Only Contacts and Recent.
Contacts work but when you try to dial latest number (press call button twice) crashes
Do not instal Phone apk,it doesn't work, just contact apk.
