Quick charge 1.0, Quick Charge 2.0 or Fast Charge - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Are any of the fast charge protocols supported by the OnePlus?
If so on which ROMS and what protocols?
Thanks,

Although snapdragons with 8xx chip have quick charge 2.0 but I'm not sure if oneplus one disable it to save money. My brothers Xiaomi Mi3 has quick charger 2.0 and he's ready to get one ..I'll try when he does(it will be nice if the phone charges faster although it's still quite fast but it woudn't hurt if it was even faster)
P.S. It's very weird no one has ever tried it.. or didn't post about it. I'm searching days now to see if anyone did it and tell the story ...still nothing

Only way I found to enable fast charge on this device is to use custom kernel like boeffla and increase the input current. By default it is ~ 1.2A. By using Custom kernel, you can tweak it to ~1.9A

Desire S weird charging problem

Hello XDA members,
I bought an HTC desire S a few weeks ago. Phone works flawlessly but takes ages to charge. Phone doesnt heat up, shows proper information while charging (AC on wall charger and USB on computer) but charging is very slow. On wall charger, battery takes 5-6 hours to charge from 25-30% to 90-100%. I have tried different USB cables, batteries, chargers and even tried 3 different ROMs with different KERNEL and calibrated the battery. Once charged, battery lasts as it should. I don't think this can be caused by bad USB port because data transfer rate is normal. I tried charging after turning off the device and the charging rate was fairly quicker. So i tried flashing custom roms but that didn't solved the problem.
Any ideas what else i should do are much appreciated..
is it a new phone? mine charges like yours but the battery is almost 2 years old.

I only can say: Same thing here. Haven't really looked into this after flashing Flinny's 10.1 ROM, but with the stock HTC ROM I had the same issue. What I could see was, that the phone charged really fast up to about 80% and then the charging-progress slowed down to a crawl.

yes. its a new phone. i had doubts that the battery maybe the culprit and tried an original battery out of a friends phone and then bought an new oem battery but that didnt solve the problem. The phone is charging (AC charger) at the moment. 43% to 56% in almost 1 hour.

Flashed the patched (custom, stable) kernel. Battery life has somewhat improved but charging is still awful sluggish.

Maybe it is hardware related
IDK
But as said in the kernel thread if you do not need additional features you better bet on the Stock kernel for Sense 3.6 / MIUI or B2B for Sense 4. This should give you best possible operation and is my personal choice as well

It does not have quick charge however I've found the battery to be very slow at draining and reasonably quick at charging. If concerned keep a "battery pack" handy.

I'm sure using a quick charge capable wall adapter like the one from the Nexus 6 etc. will provide some results, but nowhere near the "15 minutes of charge will get you 8 hours" that most newer phones claim. Shame really. Unless it's possible with a software update since the chip itself does support it.

Not necessarily. Don't get your hopes up. I think there's more to it than that. It's probably all hardware related for all I know and can't be enabled at all.

It has Quick Charge 1.0. Quick Charge 2.0 is the one that charges to 50% in 15 minutes. Quick Charge 1.0 has been around for a few years now.

The 16,000 mah right?
So how much time untill the phone is charged lets say for 0 to 100?
If at normal speed, fast charging takes around 90 minutes.
Yep.. Never charghed form 0-100 because i usually charge it when at 25%... from that value to 100 is something around 1h30

So it's somewhere around 2 hours for full charge.
But at least i know it'll work. Thanks!
Do you think it's worth the money to buy the new power bank 10,000 with the support of fast charging?

Thanks button is here in order to avoid thanking people by post, anyway, i will stay for sure with the 16A version, if you have to buy it just think if you need a smaller and faster thing or you just need something powerful for probably one-two more day autonomy. Consider that the 16A is not light at all, feels light a brick in hand

Is "quick/fast" charge working for anyone?

I recently purchased an S7 (no edge) and it mentioned it had a quick/fast charge feature.. great! Faster charging! However, I noticed that with actual use (with screen off I might add) it doesn't really charges that quickly over the normal charge. Maybe a few minutes less, but not much of a difference..
Anyone else having this issue? Using the global version, no root/no ROM (for now).
Of course it works, are you using the oem charger and cable?
Also make sure Fast Charging is enabled under Settings - Battery

Yes, using the stock charger that came with the device. Thus far, returned the S7 when I first received it due to the same 'fast/quick charging' not working. So, this is the second S7 device I'm having.

Fast Charging is enabled by default, so ya.. that's not the problem either.
Fast charging means tha from 0 to 60 % it charges fast (30 minutes) and after 60% it charges with normal speed.

are you sure about this information man ?
it works but you have to have it enabled in settings/battery.
Recently I noticed that my fast charger wasn't doing it's job as the charge rate was 'standard'. So I checked with old charger from Note 4 and it's cable, it worked wihtout issues as 'fast charge'. I ended up finding out that the problem was the cable I was using, it got damaged because of use and it's not helping the phone to detect the fast charger. So, just in case, change your cable and check again.

This is a stupid question, but did you plug in the cable correctly into the charger? Mine was like half-assed into it the first time and then quick charge doesn't work. Make sure you lube it up nice and wet and slide it in as deep as possible.
i bought one couple of days ago,and neither me, i dont see any difference between fast and normal charging

Question kernel for poco x3 pro with supprot battery standby in ACC

Who can tell which kernel has battery standby support in ACC
AFAIR meddling with charging Controller is NOT recommended on the Poco X3 Pro.
Lots of people tried and always got bad results.

Ohhh...
You mean the Bypass that doesn't charge the phone but only powers it by cable to keep it cooler and don't use any battery.
Yeah no.
I think that needs special Hardware support which our PMIC doesn't support.

Technically it will, albeit at a lower rate due to the cooler temperatures.
Still lmaoing at the fact that people believe that fans attached to a PHONE CASE/ COVER without AIR CIRCULATION help cool things internally. Must be a zoomer thing...
