Can someone on here that owns the Nexus player do me a favor and download the new Android TV Launcher APK and upload it so I can try this on my LG Google TV??
Just download the Chrome APK extension and then download the APK here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.leanbacklauncher
Thanks!
Sure,
However the extension requires the android id of the device in order to work.
On phones you can grab it with the dialer app, but I have no idea how to grab it from the nexus player.
Here you go.

I have a problem with facebook app for android since I recently updated it to the latest version which is version 6.0.0.28.28
My problem was whenever I play a video a video, the video will be played by facebook built in video player. Supposedly before update, I was able to choose a 3rd party video player to play it. I always choose MX Player to play facebook videos because there's a lot of options to choose like H/W or S/W and video scaling.
Is there a work around to disable facebook built in video player.? I have tried to clear defaults but still doesn't work.
If anyone here has a copy of the facebook apk version 4.0.0.26.3 I would like to ask a copy of it. I think this is not a violation for warez because facebook is free to download in play store. I just needed that specific version because that works perfectly on my phone.
Is there a way or an app that can automatically backup an app in android before updating.? Hope you'll share your ideas here.
Thanks for taking time to read this.
Use facebook 8.0.0.0.23 dev version. It is not only the latest version but also supports the feature you said.
Use ES File Explorer to back up apps manually before upgrading.
I have uploaded app called System Optimizer apk that can backup apps before updating but it comes with its own market.
Good Luck!

Good morning, So i recently converted a bunch of my DVD's to version that plays on my SG4 phone. I moved them to my SDK card and put them in a file labeled movies. So I can watch them no problem, but when I go into my gallery and under the movies folder, it just shows a bunch of videos I can play without showing movie titles.
Is there a way to have them show up in the google movies app or somewhere else that will label them? Should I move them somewhere else?
You can imagine I have to play each movie to figure out what it is
Hope my question makes sense
thank you
This is the Way Gallery has been designed on Stock Firmware to provide a showcase. You may wish to use other applications that would provide a Listing. ES File Explorer [APP][2.0+][20130531]Top 1 File Manager on Google Play, ES File Explorer 3.0 Released Does come to mind.

Thank you for the response. I checked out that program and it looks good, except I was hoping not to change everything to a third party app. Is there something that I could use that would just contain my movies?
another alternative Online APK Downloader
Direct download apps of the Google’s apps store without using Google Play.

Have you ever wanted to get your hands on the latest game, only to find that the Google Play thought it wasn't compatible with your phone? Maybe you don't have a snapdragon device, but youre're pretty sure an old device could handle it still. Have a Kindle Fire and want access to more than just the Amazon AppStore?

Would any of my US friends happen to have a copy of the Hulu Plus APK file for the Galaxy S6? Unfortunately Google makes it extremely difficult to download if you're outside of the US but it's an essential service if I plan on keeping this phone and using it with my Chromecast
This what you look for?

Hello Everyone,
It appears that very recently Google finally updated the Google Play Store for the Nexus Player (Android TV in General). I really like the updated UI! It is much more visually appealing and is not redundant like the original was. I also feel it is much easier to navigate and search seems "better". The Play Store icon was updated as well. You can wait for the OTA update if you would like but it could take weeks I'm sure. I actually downloaded and installed the APK directly on my Nexus Player using Google Chrome.
If you have Chrome sideloaded to your Nexus Player, a wireless keyboard, and ES File Explorer, you can install it directly on your Nexus Player. (The APK will show in downloads on ES File Explorer and install just fine) Here is the link to the article and the APK link is at the end of the article. Compliments of Android Police.

Awe Im still waiting on it on mine, i really like the new look seems more stream line.
I noticed it yesterday, must have auto updated.
Still nothing in there as far as new apps. HBO and PBS being the most recent, but since I'm a comcast subscriber, HBO useless for me as well as all the other channel apps.
I was honestly starting to think that Google was abandoning Android TV. It still doesn't even compare to Apple TV as far as app selection. Seeing HBO GO official support added recently and now a Playstore update gives me hope!
I ditched my iPhone 6 for a Nexus 6 and my Apple TV for a Nexus Player. I'm done with Apple / IOS. The phone switch felt like a hella upgrade software and hardware wise. The TV switch honestly felt like a downgrade though...
I don't believe they'd abandon it. Google just partnered with several TV manufacturers to use ATV as their smart TV platform. As the install base for ATV gets higher, the apps will come.

The Play Store doesn't show many apps, but you could access the Play Store through a web browser and see that there are other apps that are compatible with the Nexus Player or Shield TV that you can install on them. Once installed access them through the Sideload Launcher.
