This is Now Gesture Tweaks app. This app lets you replace the swipe up gesture (from the bottom of device) for activating Google Now with a custom action. The app is available in english, italian (my language) and spanish.
The app has two versions: a free version and a full version (with more functions).
Refer to the video and screenshots for more informations.

NOTE: the gesture for activating Google Now it's not the same in all devices. Mostly all devices with virtual keys (like nexus devices) can swipe up from the home button. Other devices activate google now with long-pressing the home button (or also back button or menu/multitasking button) or other. If you don't know what's he gesture for your device model, just search on google!
NOTE2: all the permissions of the app are required by Android for executing the various commands.
If you have any problem, write here or send me a mail.
You can contact me also for suggestions and requests.
Enjoy Now Gesture Tweaks
(icons donated by user Igor Cherenkov, thanks a lot )

Now Gesture Tweaks updated to 1.2 version:
FULL VERSION:
-added screenshot function (requires root, otherwise the function is not visible)

FREE VERSION:
-now "no actions" function is available also in free version (for who wants only to disable the gesture)

Awesome app, I'm using a galaxy note 3 and i would love to force my google now to be triggered while swiping up without using the physical home button. Is there any hope of that feature being implemented ?

Would it be possible to add the torch toggle function?

I'm waiting for multiple apps on the circle.
I would be great if we can launch whatever apps or activities from the gesture similar to launching app from lock screen.

I like the app, thank you for sharing it.
Only one thing bothers me, when I launch an app with it, your app appears in the recent apps, together with the launched app.
Both make the launched app relaunch so the second is rather useless.
Would it be possible to hide your app from the recents when the shortcut is used?

No battery usage, because the app opens when doing the gesture and closes after the command is launched

Toggle is not so easy (at least for me that i'm not an expert android programmer) because every phone activates it in a different way. It requires a lot of effort. But it's in my to-do list for next updated

I've tried some ways to hide the app from multitasking, but none is working at the moment. I'll continue trying, hope to success

I think you have seen it before, it looks something like in the attachment.

app is perfect if only could be possible add the function to open an android activity instead of the app, often is the activity it self that we need most, because is not listed in the app list but it's in your phone and you have to do crazy stuff to open it... ready to buy the pro version with this function

such a great app thanks m8

Don't know if it is possible to directly open an activity (probably yes). but in last update (1.4) i've added shortcuts action so you can for example open a website, call a number, send a message to etc.

Yes i'll try to implement in in the future, it's in the to-do list but probably it will require device admin

Cool app!
What quite bothers me though is that after you exec a command, you can't just continue using the previous app, you first have to press back once or more times in order to close some kind of transparent overlay

will test this when i get home
but thinking something like this would be helpful when playing videos full screen - right and left for fast foreward/rewind, up/down for volume up and down, diagonal for brightness
another thought is for first person shooter games
and finally a gesture to toggle it on and standby

I'm developing application that allows you to control tablet with gestures. Currently it allows to execute following gestures:
Back:

Root access is needed. Tested on Honecomb. ICS not tested (hide bar definitely working only on Honycomb at the moment)
Please try it out and let me know what you think. What other features or actions would be helpful?

Thanks. I developed on 7.7 stock and tested on friends 10.1 stock, but I hope to get my hands on 10.1 for longer time (maybe next week) and try different firmwares.
CM9 not available for 7.7 unfortunately. But good to know that gestures are registered on ICS, so I think I can make it fully functional.

Same issue for me with AOKP, gesture text shows up but nothing happens.. I think there is great potential with this, your work is much appreciated!
Really nice. But like the other, it shows the gesture, but nothing happens (CM9)
Would be awesome, like an iPad, 4 fingers swipe to change between recent apps

Changed gestures to multitouch, fixed bug that might prevent actions from execution (after gesture is detected and message shown).
However ICS still not supported (don't have device yet).

Market app at the moment is suspended. I want to fix all known problems. Currently testing last one, and if everything goes right, it will be up again.
ill do some testing if you want im on wifi and can flash most roms including ics
Available in market again.
cheers have bourt it
one thing
dono if you can do this but when you install the full version it doesnt overwrite the lite version so you have two of the sme thing just a little feed back but other than that a great app and will probs be using it a lot
I would like to have the option of having the icon display in the status bar. This could be a paid only option but it would be nice for people like me who just want it to run in the background.

This is an app for power users that miss the old good Taskbar, ALT-TAB shortcut, WIN+[n] shortcut or workspaces on their Android devices. PinTasking allows you to create floating shortcuts in form of pins, on demand and based on their current task and workload.
Features:
pin apps/tasks/documents to access them quickly from any screen and app
jump quickly to your most recent task
or your whole tasks history
doesn't restart your tasks under Lollipop like similar apps
[ROOT] Disable the app-switch-delay
extremely customizable
smooth & cool animations
Material design
integrate your browser in PinTasking to:
easily pin your browser whenever you open a link
collect / preload links without to leave an application
quickly share or open links in another app
works with nearly all browsers
Help me to translate Pintasking into your language:
https://www.localize.im/v/m3
Changelog:
Code:
1.0.5:
- bug fix
- small improvements
1.0.4:
- bug fixes
- Accessibility Helper mode improvements
- preparation for a new browser extension feature
1.0.3 :
- small improvements
1.0.2 :

Short Youtube clips:
I'm currently working on a new app but Pintasking will still receive a lot of updates in the future!
Upcoming features & improvements:
a new mode for the browser extension (preloading on Andorid 5.0+ without root)
activities & shortcuts as home actions for the swipe pad & assist action
automatic recreation of pins after an update or reboot
auto-hiding pins in black-listed apps
more customization options like pin color
custom toasts implementation
translations
In form of independent apps:
hardware buttons remapping on Android 4.3+ (without root)
a gestures based swipe pad app with a lot of possibilities
News writers can drop me an email or PN to get temporary access to all PRO features. In order to do that I have to add the reviewer's email to my testing access list in my Developer Console.

UPDATE:

Changelog:

Improved crash reporting
fixes for rare bugs
fixed root-helper-installer bug on tablets
updated icons
a Iot of new customization options
the swipe pad isn't accessible from the lockscreen anymore
The Play Store listening should appear in the next hours.
Gadget Hacks made a short review of the alpha version:
Is there any way to make it not hafta require rooot on 5.0+?? Or is that not feasible? Thanks!

It's possible with some limitations:
- no preloading / preopening (Quick opener mode) of webpages
- a click on Evernote, Google Docs and etc. will bring you to the latest document or screen of this app and maybe not to the document you actually pinned
- a few apps may reinitialize and lose text in input fields, scroll progress and etc. after switching to them
I'll implement a non-root mode if there're enough interested people that are okay with this limitations.
btw:
PinTasking is live on the Play Store:
wow, you added even more options!

Okay, I'll implement a non-root mode before or after the full release. May I ask you why folks with a rooted phone (?!) want it? I wonder if it's for security reasons? You can install the system helper by yourself with a root file explorer. Even system apps need a confirmation to gain root and the helper app declares only two additional permissions and shares them with PinTasking.
I am rooted but their are plenty of people who arent.
My phone is rooted, running plenty of rooted apps, and it says I am not and asks to install the helper or uninstall. Do I have to install the helper? I am on Android 5.1.1 HTC One M8.

This could help you:
1. Make sure that you haven't accidentally denied the root pop-up.
2. Restart the app and try it again.
3. It takes a while on Cyanogenmod to show up the root dialog. Tap "verify root" and wait 2-8 seconds.
I experienced the same bug once but I couldn't reproduce it and a simple application restart solved it for me. I'll look into it again.
Anyway, thanks for reporting.

hi ,
Your app PinTasking looks very interesting and practical .Thanks !
One issue i am trying to understand ................
I have Note 4 ( N910F ) rooted and on Lollipop 5.0.1
i installed your app from Play store, granted root access etc .
But i found app a bit confusing at first ( functions ..how to use etc ).
i uninstalled app ,as i wanted to see your video and then decide.
After watching video ,i was happy i understood functions better and reinstalled from Play store .
This time app was installed ,without asking again for root ( as in 1 st time when i installed )
It is working fine ,tested it rebooted etc ,but PinTasking does not show up in Superuser..?
However ,whilst typing above ,i had idea and went to PinTasking /Root helper installer and reinstalled
helper then was ask for root access etc ,( even though it was never uninstalled ,as i could see it in Titanuim )
and activated it ,and now app shows up in Superuser .
I have solved my issue ,but want to bring it to your attention.
Very impressed so far with apps.........practical /functional uses !
good luck

This app solves one of the hindrance of Google app. ( at least for me)... with google app, keyboard only opens automatically when now cards are not shown and I have to click on search bar to activate IME which is too bad. Well, this app solves that problem.
Bravo... 5stars...
Please include SD card search results (music, video, files etc), this will make it a super utility app as the app name suggest.
Thanks for the app.
Thanks all for positive feedback and suggestions:

Thanks,
for positive feedback.
Quick swipe actions are also in our todo list,
we are implementing "draw-on-app" quick view for all Tabs and each sections will be easily accessible using a swipe action from edge of screen,
Swipe edge area will also be configurable.
We are also working on optimizing to make whole experience more snappy and faster.

Yes, smart drawer can be set as default app for search.
If on your device, when you swipe up, directly Google search opens up.
Then..
Step 1.
you first need to clear the default.
To do so, open smart drawer, type "googl", Google search app should appear in filtered list.
Step 2.
Go to app details of Google search app
And find "clear default" button, click it.
Step 3.
Now when you swipe up, you should get a list of apps (including smart drawer) to use for search.
Step 4.
Set smart drawer as default. Or choose "always" options to set it s default search app.
That's all.
Now if all goes right, you should have setup swipe up action for smart drawer.
Enjoy.

You're welcome! Hope it serves you well. I know it's not perfect, but without root/Xposed we are verrrryyy limited in what we can do!
First off great app, been wanting this feature for so long just for getting at the notification bar.
Is there any way to assign this to a command to be used with a button in the Navigation bar?
Could you add a "toggle" option as an activity for use as a shortcut with Nova Launcher etc. Attached a screenshot for detail.

Thank you guys! Cannot test it as I don't have a PC at my hand ATM. May I help by translating the app to German? It's more a guessing thing right now, trying to find out what the welcome pages are trying to tell you

Xperia Z5 Premium, bone stock 7.1.1. I paid for more features the moment I activated it.
This is honestly amazing. Great for one handed, although...
Attch 1: Sorta works on Twitter. Only half of the reduced screen size is used in the main screen. When you view a profile, the "dead space" is filled by the colour of the header photo.
Attch 2: Nova Launcher, Tumblr, and iYTBP work excellently on the reduced screen mode.
I hope there's an easier way to launch it. A Quick Tile or make it play nice with Custom Navigation Bar.
More power to the developers!
Make it clear please, that the app won't function at all without paying for it!

It does work, you can activate the one handed mode from inside the app and then continue what you're doing inside other apps. But I agree the toggle should be available in the free version...
The resizing could be still paid imo

You can use the button at the bottom of the main page to enable one handed mode. Then go to your favorite apps and see how they look. The only part that is paid is the floating bubble that lets you easily toggle one Handed Mode
Next update will add an intent that can be called at com.xda.onehandedmode.action.TOGGLE_OHM and a launcher shortcut.
We will also work with the developer of the Custom Navigation Bar app so you can toggle One Handed Mode using a nav bar key.
App could be "worth it" just to adjust dpi. I used Xposed, AppSettings to do this on an app by app basis. Life-savor on my old small phone. The Xposed module did not slow down the screen refresh but did require root, of course.

That's outside of the scope of this app and doesn't make sense to add to this app, but that doesn't mean it can't be done in another app

There's something preventing it from working on oreo with Magisk 14.3 then. I've gave it root access but the settings won't even let me turn the "start at boot" toggle
No other mods.. Apart from root I keep it as stock as possible
Lets put first things first.
Thanks for the promo code.
We need a Help and Feedback section inside the app. Help may lead to XDA and feedback may send a direct email to you with/without attachment and logs. A debug switch should also be there so that a debug log can be added.
Now, 1 major problem. The background colour of the remaining area should NOT be changed by app accent. Instead, it should be selectable or fixed to pure black preferably. This wil make the app look more natural.
Also, if you can hook into some advanced features if Root is available. Your app should have two modes. Either Root or Rootless. This will make the things more efficient.
As you promised a toggle intent, that's welcome as it's more convenient to use by event using tasker or automation tools that can call to an intent.

"Start at boot" is for the overlay service. All of the settings being disabled is a bug that will be fixed in the next version. If you purchase, you can access them, but if you don't want to do that, the update should be out tomorrow.

The blackout overlay is fixed in the upcoming version.
What other features are there with root? We can't use it to fix the offset issue in some apps or anything like that.
The next version will have the intent, a shortcut icon, and a QS tile. @paphonb is also working to integrate OHM into Custom Navigation Bar.

Tile Shortcuts - Quick settings apps & shortcuts
Quickly open apps, shortcuts & websites, directly from your notification shade with icons that fit in perfectly!
Download from the Play Store here
How is this app different to other similar apps?
Other apps do not use the real app icon in the quick settings tile.
Instead, they replace the app icon with a letter or generic image.
This app uses the real app icon for the quick settings tile, making it easier for you to identify the apps & shortcuts you want to open.
SHORTCUT TILES
Apps
App shortcuts
URLs
Intents
Activities (coming soon)
TILE CUSTOMIZATION
Use the real app icon for the icon in the notification shade
Choose your own icons
Select an icon from an Icon Pack
Use actual website icons for URL tiles
Name the Tile whatever you want
TUTORIAL
youtu.be/420j_OsBLDw
Create a tile in the app (remember the number under the newly created tile name)
Open your quick settings panel and tap the edit button
Move the tile you just created (with the matching number) up into the active section of your quick settings panel
You can now use the tile!
If the tiles still do not show in your quick settings panel, this is because your device manufacturer has not included the functionality. This is not an issue with the app.
BOTTOM QUICK SETTINGS & MIUI-ify INTEGRATION
Tiles created in this app are usable in Bottom Quick Settings and MIUI-ify, allowing you to create custom icons for shortcuts

I understand what app, shortcut and url are. What is INTENT?
Can I make a shortcut that rotates the phone to left landscape, portrait or right landscape? Will I be able in the future?

For accessing or launching a certain app rapidly. One example, could be a quick search from your web browser, an another would to launch the calculator.

That may be a possibility in the future if enough people request it.
But there are plenty of other apps on the play store that give you system tiles such as screen rotation already.
This app more focuses on shortcuts to apps etc with customizable icons
Update! Version 1.1.0
- Added translations for Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish
- Interface improvements and bug fixes
The next update will allow adding Activities as shortcuts too
Hey! Great app and I've purchased the pro version. Any chance of adding a folder option? By this I mean a way to add various apps and/or shortcuts to a folder under a single tile? I'd like this to have, for example, a weather folder that can be opened with a single tile.
Cheers and great work!

Good Idea! Thanks for supporting the app. I'll add that feature to my list ?
Definitely try to add folder option, I was planning for an app where we can make shortcuts for folders, but it will be very nice to have the same functionality with this app.

Hi there,
I've purchased the Premium version, but when I try to create a 'Activity' using 'Shortcut', I get the message "An error occurred".
Does this have a NFC on/off toggle? It's a feature that I've been sorely missing since it got removed from the default set of icons in the notification shade.
Best app! But i don't understand why slowly to open app one more time... (Samsung s10e) impossible utilize good ....

This app is designed for shortcuts like apps and websites.
The apps: Tiles, Shortcutter, and Quick Settings can probably do this.

Unfortunately this is because Android places this delay sometimes.
If the app is not open and you are not on the home screen, the app should open instantly.

What was it that made you think this app had a Mobile Data tile?
