will test this when i get home
but thinking something like this would be helpful when playing videos full screen - right and left for fast foreward/rewind, up/down for volume up and down, diagonal for brightness
another thought is for first person shooter games
and finally a gesture to toggle it on and standby

I'm developing application that allows you to control tablet with gestures. Currently it allows to execute following gestures:
Back:
down - left
Home:
down - right
Show/Hide status bar:
up - right
Root access is needed. Tested on Honecomb. ICS not tested (hide bar definitely working only on Honycomb at the moment)
Please try it out and let me know what you think. What other features or actions would be helpful?

feature like I pad 2 like u put all ur finger and pinch and it will go from app to home

Doesn't seem to do anything, other than displaying the command onscreen (eg. back and home). I'm running CM9.

I'm considering multitouch. When I tried it, it felt a bit awkward for me, but I might add an option.

Thanks. I developed on 7.7 stock and tested on friends 10.1 stock, but I hope to get my hands on 10.1 for longer time (maybe next week) and try different firmwares.
CM9 not available for 7.7 unfortunately. But good to know that gestures are registered on ICS, so I think I can make it fully functional.

Same issue for me with AOKP, gesture text shows up but nothing happens.. I think there is great potential with this, your work is much appreciated!

Really nice. But like the other, it shows the gesture, but nothing happens (CM9)
Would be awesome, like an iPad, 4 fingers swipe to change between recent apps

Changed gestures to multitouch, fixed bug that might prevent actions from execution (after gesture is detected and message shown).
However ICS still not supported (don't have device yet).

great idea
i got ICS aokp rom if you need beta testers

Updated version in first post.

I realize this is the GT forum - but it would be cool if you could make it work on CM7/GB - especially CM7 on the Kindle Fire.

Market app at the moment is suspended. I want to fix all known problems. Currently testing last one, and if everything goes right, it will be up again.

ill do some testing if you want im on wifi and can flash most roms including ics

Available in market again.

cheers have bourt it
one thing
dono if you can do this but when you install the full version it doesnt overwrite the lite version so you have two of the sme thing just a little feed back but other than that a great app and will probs be using it a lot

I would like to have the option of having the icon display in the status bar. This could be a paid only option but it would be nice for people like me who just want it to run in the background.

Is there an option to quickly return to home page? Quick navigation and quick bookmark access is what keeps me using Miren, but that browser hasn't been updated in ages.

Great idea! Thanks. Will look into it.
Update
Beta 1.0.1
releasing the tab quick control will now bring up the standard window with open tabs in which you can close tabs by swiping them "away"
fixed "find on page" menu item text
It seems to work pretty well on my GN running the Revolution HD rom. The ONLY issue I see is that either the unused space in the controls need .. controls or needs to be made transparent. The shadow close to the edge of the screen where ones finger is ... is a bit ugly. But since it's a beta ... FRIGGIN awesome job!
Running great on my GN
Can I reguest a feature? Custom UA-string would be a killer feature
Edit: another feature request: custom download folder would be great also.
Works on my GSII with CM9 (4.0.3)

I would like to request the ability to permanently set all webpages to be non-mobile.
Works fine on HTC Desire running latest ICS 4.0.3.

I've been really wanting more Quick Controls, so this is fantastic so far!
I do have a few thoughts; hopefully you'll find some of them worth doing:
1) Could you provide an option to use the volume rocker for other uses like page scrolling or tab switching?
2) A very minor point that drives me crazy is that if I select the menu option from the quick controls, the pop-up menu list always pops up on the left side of the screen -- it'd be nice if, when I use the quick controls on the right, the pop-up menu list (i.e. the option I get when pressing your "!" button) would pop up on the right so I could easily reach it with the same finger/thumb I used to activate quick controls.
3) I'd love a quick way to access notifications when full-screen browsing -- perhaps something in quick controls or the pop-up menu to pull down the notification shade -- or maybe even better, an option to launch an application from quick controls or the pop-up menu (since I could then use something like status bar expander to pull down the shade).
4) Some sort of quicker toggle for inverted screen -- I like the black background for battery savings on AMOLED screens, but it's annoying how it also inverts pictures. So, if I want to quickly see a picture displayed properly or if a page just doesn't seem to be displaying properly when inverted, it'd be nice to have a quick toggle to take me back to the normal state instead of having dive down into accessibility options.
5) I suspect this might be difficult -- but I'd like to have the option to customize the tab that gets focus after closing another tab (like in Tab Mix Plus for Firefox). Right now, I'll sometimes open 5-6 tabs in the background from a single page. I'll go to one of the pages, read it, then close tab and end up back at the original page. Then I'll have to switch tabs back to one of the other background-opened tabs and repeat the process -- taking up extra time, even if I use the tab switcher instead of using the X or back button on the quick controls. Instead it would be nice if after closing a new tab, I go directly to another of the new tabs, until all the new tabs have been closed and I'm back to the page from which I opened all the new tabs. I guess a tricky part is keeping another desirable behavior -- when opening a link from Gmail for instance, closing the linked page should still bring you back to Gmail.
6) This is probably something that requires root and even then I'm not even sure if it's possible -- but it would be super-cool if you could add extra browser buttons to the soft menu area on the Galaxy Nexus -- an option to put a frequently-used button like a refresh button or bookmark button or whatever.
Suggestion: Some way to close all tabs quickly. When I reach 16 tabs, swiping all of them closed is a pain.
Any words on why all the permissions are needed?
I'd just like to know before installing.
Nice job, I was just playing on my transformer and thinking having this would be nice.
One thing that would be a great feature would be an option to hide the Galaxy Nexus navigation buttons at the bottom. You would need to add a home button to the quick controls, so not sure exactly how hard that would be.
Small Beta 1.0.2 Update
* added option to set the User Agent String (Settings -> Advanced)
* cosmetic fixes: new icons, removed background controls (see screenshot1)
* switched the "add new tab" control and the "show tabs" control for easier access
BTW the option request desktop site is still used. Selecting this option will toggle the User Agent setting for the current tab. All pages loaded in that tab will listen to the new setting (this way one can set a tab to load mobile pages when the default user agent is set to desktop or vice versa.
Thank you all for the feedback!! I certainly will use a lot for the upcoming version. Great suggestions.
great work appelflap. thank you man!!
when i have auto rotate on and switch between portrait and landscape mode the webpage reloads. is this a bug ?
when you view a flash video (plugins on demand) in portrait mode turning to landscape mode reloads the page and you must start the video again..
Thanx for the great app, works perfectly on Galaxy Nexus.
Would it be possible to add an option, that clears cache and history automatically whenever I am closing the browser? This is something I am definitely missing on most mobile browsers.
appelflap
I use a virtual trackball app on my galaxy nexus. Is there a way to add cursor support into this browser app? Thanks.
Not working on my Galaxy S2.

No conflicts. It is separate application reading different events. I just reused UI and some code, that why they look familiar

Question1:
Is it possible to turn off default Samsung gestures in settings?
Question2:
I tried to avoid conflicts with default Samsung gestures, but I'm interested to hear suggestions about default gestures that I should add.
Got confirmation that it works on Note2 and Note 10.1 too. I will update calibration values for these devices, so borders are detected properly.

Default Calibration is fine on my T-Mobile Note II - all gestures worked.
I do have one issue - I can't turn off the built in gestures, specifically the one that opens quick command. It's a straight line up, and so the bottom bar and the home gestures don't work well for me. Obviously I just disabled them and made my own for the same actions. Really wish I could turn off my quick command. Might try freezing it in titanium.
I have not had any other conflicts with the built in S-Pen gestures.
Would love it if you integrated this into your other app. I would pay $5 for that in a heart beat. I'm not too sure about buying and running both, especially if I have to configure the launch pads for each.
However, I'll be buying this as soon as it shows up on the play store, and I'll test it with the light version of the other and see how I like it. Really hope I can do a 4-5 finger pinch to close/home. (Stupid Bejeweled only being on the iPad >.< [new version at least.])
Edit: The more I play with it, the more I run into the system gestures recognizing off of other gestures. Any logs or info I can provide lemmie know
Awesome! Works perfect!
Works on cm10 along side the stylus gestures that were recently added. Great work

1. Samsung gestures - I'm new to Note, but looks like there is no way to turn them off in UI. Samsung recognition implementation is quite bad and it triggers gestures with high error threshold (like drawing L would trigger 'Back'). I will see if I can disable them on root level and add an option if possible, however I don't expect to be able to disable Samsung gestures one by one. Probably all or nothing.
2. There is no benefit joining GestureControl and SPen Control - while they look similar they contain different implementation and there would be no benefit from optimization points. I still would need to read from different drivers and parse separate events. There are plenty of reasons to make them separate:
* SPen is just for Note devices, so other GestureControl users don't have to suffer from increased application size or updates that only relate to SPen. On the other hand some Note users might want SPen control only.
* Settings split - in some case "same" setting should have different values for these applications. Applications have different gestures. If you only need SPenControl, you would still need to deal with GestureControl settings, etc.
* They can run both alongside, there is no drawbacks to it.
* In upcoming releases I will expose all actions (including LaunchPads) through shortcuts api, so it will be possible to trigger GestureControl LaunchPad from SPen Control and vice verse.
Everythings work on pa cm10 utacka. I like it.

You're welcome! Hope it serves you well. I know it's not perfect, but without root/Xposed we are verrrryyy limited in what we can do!
First off great app, been wanting this feature for so long just for getting at the notification bar.
Is there any way to assign this to a command to be used with a button in the Navigation bar?
Could you add a "toggle" option as an activity for use as a shortcut with Nova Launcher etc. Attached a screenshot for detail.

Xperia Z5 Premium, bone stock 7.1.1. I paid for more features the moment I activated it.
This is honestly amazing. Great for one handed, although...
Attch 1: Sorta works on Twitter. Only half of the reduced screen size is used in the main screen. When you view a profile, the "dead space" is filled by the colour of the header photo.
Attch 2: Nova Launcher, Tumblr, and iYTBP work excellently on the reduced screen mode.
I hope there's an easier way to launch it. A Quick Tile or make it play nice with Custom Navigation Bar.
More power to the developers!
Make it clear please, that the app won't function at all without paying for it!

It does work, you can activate the one handed mode from inside the app and then continue what you're doing inside other apps. But I agree the toggle should be available in the free version...
The resizing could be still paid imo

You can use the button at the bottom of the main page to enable one handed mode. Then go to your favorite apps and see how they look. The only part that is paid is the floating bubble that lets you easily toggle one Handed Mode
Next update will add an intent that can be called at com.xda.onehandedmode.action.TOGGLE_OHM and a launcher shortcut.
We will also work with the developer of the Custom Navigation Bar app so you can toggle One Handed Mode using a nav bar key.
App could be "worth it" just to adjust dpi. I used Xposed, AppSettings to do this on an app by app basis. Life-savor on my old small phone. The Xposed module did not slow down the screen refresh but did require root, of course.

That's outside of the scope of this app and doesn't make sense to add to this app, but that doesn't mean it can't be done in another app

There's something preventing it from working on oreo with Magisk 14.3 then. I've gave it root access but the settings won't even let me turn the "start at boot" toggle
No other mods.. Apart from root I keep it as stock as possible
Lets put first things first.
Thanks for the promo code.
We need a Help and Feedback section inside the app. Help may lead to XDA and feedback may send a direct email to you with/without attachment and logs. A debug switch should also be there so that a debug log can be added.
Now, 1 major problem. The background colour of the remaining area should NOT be changed by app accent. Instead, it should be selectable or fixed to pure black preferably. This wil make the app look more natural.
Also, if you can hook into some advanced features if Root is available. Your app should have two modes. Either Root or Rootless. This will make the things more efficient.
As you promised a toggle intent, that's welcome as it's more convenient to use by event using tasker or automation tools that can call to an intent.

There's something preventing it from working on oreo with Magisk 14.3 then. I've gave it root access but the settings won't even let me turn the "start at boot" toggle
No other mods.. Apart from root I keep it as stock as possible

"Start at boot" is for the overlay service. All of the settings being disabled is a bug that will be fixed in the next version. If you purchase, you can access them, but if you don't want to do that, the update should be out tomorrow.

The blackout overlay is fixed in the upcoming version.
What other features are there with root? We can't use it to fix the offset issue in some apps or anything like that.
The next version will have the intent, a shortcut icon, and a QS tile. @paphonb is also working to integrate OHM into Custom Navigation Bar.

[APP][7.0+] Tap Locker - a different type of lock screen

Tap Locker is a lock screen with a unique type of protection - tap pattern. Instead of using a password or a 9 grid pattern Tap Locker uses a sequence of taps to unlock the device. App's algorithm is checking timings of each tap to recognize the pattern. You will be able to unlock your device without looking at the screen using your favorite beat, drum sequence etc.
Tap locker on Google Play
Features:
● Notifications - preview app notifications on the lock screen. You can also set to preview only icons for a more elegant look.
● Tap protection - tap sequence/pattern to unlock your device.
● Music player - control your favorite songs and playlists.
● Gradient wallpapers - Tap Locker includes a number of elegant gradient wallpapers, that change every time you open the phone. You can also edit and create your own gradients.
● Trusted places - you can add locations and /or trusted WiFi networks where device should be unlocked.
● Clock styles - 6 different free clock styles to choose from
● Apps and Quick settings - launch your apps and toggle quick settings directly from the lock screen
● Widgets! - add your favorite clocks, weather widgets etc.
Update:
A lot of things reworked.
Notifications are now expandable
Added quick settings toggles
And more
Good concept.
Please add option of default wallpaper.
I want to make it invisible lock for other, so option to hide lock icon and forgot pattern will be very helpful. Or anything that can spoof them.
Sounds and looks good
but, I'm gonna wait until it passes beta stage
My suggestion
Add horizontal swipe to unlock screen (I get bored with stock vertical swipe)
Nice app! Good idea and beautiful implementation.
Here's my feedback:
I love it. I did eventually switch to only swipe, five taps takes a little too much effort for my liking. Maybe registering the duration of each tap would allow for more security with fewer taps. Also, maybe allow users to determine whether a pattern is secure enough or not? If we want to have only 3 taps, it could just be at our own risk. I think most people won't even know how to operate it anyways; its a pretty unique idea. Also to speed things up it would be nice to be able to tap without having to swipe first.
Nice design overall. I missed the music equalizer I had on my custom rom, but the clean simplicity of what you have for changing the music is a good replacement I can use on my stock rom! Nice job.
Is it possible to change the clock style? Or turn off the phone shortcut? Just some ideas.
As far as bugs, I didn't really notice any except that sometimes the stock lockscreen comes up first, usually after a reboot.
Thanks for the app, nice job on it! ??

Thanks for your input, people!
You have some interesting points. I will definitely look into it.

I tried to register timings, but it just doesn't work. "Not quite my tempo" :silly:
3 taps would be really not enough
It is basically only 2 combination - * ** or ** *
I do plan to add more clock styles, maybe even cycle through them each time. And removing swipe is also a good idea, thanx!
Update 1.012:
Phone and Camera are now can be removed from the lock screen
Tap patterns can now be detected without swiping (in "More security settings")
Security screen graphics can now be hidden (in "More security settings")
Added Default system wallpaper (Static images only)

Thank you for update.
Can you please add option to hide battery % & icon on lock screen?
Can you also add option to remove default second screen of Tap locker with hexagonal textures?

Can't remove the second screen - "Forgot pattern" button is a must.
So far so good!
I've testing this app for a short time but i fund it pretty good.
I think you should do a cuadrant for the taps (Like te lg devices) it more comfortable in my opinion, i'm just using the swipe feature and i love it.
Keep the good work.

Hey,
I just stumbled upon this. I can't try your app at this very moment, though (phone's battery is dead) but if at some time you'd want to implement a LG-like locking feature on your app, maybe you'd want to check at this.

I think LG have a patent on this, maybe this is why the free library was taken down. Anyway, don't think i will implement it.

Hi guys! Developer of Energy Ring & Access Dots here. Excited to present a mini OS for the cover screen of Z Flip 3/4 through an App - CoverScreen OS! It shall make your phone's cover screen a fully functional mini phone!

CoverScreen OS almost simulates a secondary OS on your Z Flip's cover screen with the following features:
Cover Launcher / App Launcher/Drawer
Caller ID Screen for VoIP Apps (WhatsApp, Telegram, LINE and more...)
Support for all third party Apps homescreen widgets
Quick Toggles - a TON load of them!
Navigation gestures
Notifications
Powerful Media screen - multiple sessions, scrub through the track and additional controls that are not available in Samsung's Stock OS for cover screen
Voice, QWERTY, T9 full keyboard support
On screen LED Notification indicator/Edge Lighting
Flex Mode
The navigation system is built such that, you can access both CoverScreen OS and Samsung's Stock OS (checkout the tutorial within the App.)
Flexing the 'Flex mode'
Also, you can now 'click' on 'most' widgets to perform action on CSOS itself.
New Notification options in action!
Your browser is not able to display this video.
Edge Lighting for multiple Apps in action!
COVER LAUNCHER / APP LAUNCHER/DRAWER:
Launch almost any App on your cover screen with back navigation support and voice keyboard input.
Launch apps in locked orientation - portrait or landscape.
Quick search apps by alphabet.
Sort apps alphabetically - ascending/decending.
Sort apps by recently used first.
WIDGETS SCREEN:
Add almost any widget pixel-perfect aligned for Z Flip 3/4's cover screen, of any App that you would normally add to your homescreen on the main display.
Add as many widgets as you want.
Widgets can be set into one of the two sizes.
Perform almost all actions on the widgets like clicking on a button to launching its App.
QUICK TOGGLES SCREEN:
NATIVE/IN-BUILT TOGGLES:
Bluetooth turn on/off
Flashlight
DND mode
Flex Mode - use cover screen while phone is unfolded
Caffeinate - keep screen awake
Power Dialog on cover screen
TON LOAD OF ADDITIONAL TOGGLES: You can add super powerful quick toggles powered by Bixby Routines, Tasker, IFTTT and many more available providers, check out within the App! Some examples here, only limited by your imagination
Wifi, NFC, GPS, Wifi Hotspot, Power Saving mode toggle, Read aloud notification, screen brightness control
Quick dial a contact, SMS, play music, reminders, alarm, battery level.
Only limited by your imagination!
NOTIFICATIONS SCREEN:
Reply to any notification with voice keyboard.
Open notification instantly either on cover screen or on main screen.
Perform additional actions available on each notification.
Dismiss notifications with swipe right.
MEDIA PLAYBACK SCREEN:
Access all media playbacks from all Apps, as available on your main screen.
Theme support.
EDGE LIGHTING/ON-SCREEN LED NOTIFICATION INDICATOR:
Turns on cover screen and glows the edges of your cover screen just like the Edge Lighting on your main screen.
You can set a single solid color for all incoming notification or let CSOS apply the App's Icon color.
If you have multiple notifications from multiple Apps, they can combine into a beautiful gradient.
More colors, customizations under development.
FLEX MODE:
Use cover screen with access to all CSOS features while the phone is unfolded.
Keep the phone on your desk or bed in tent-style stand mode.
Cover screen stays on until you manually disable Flex Mode or fold back your phone.
DEVELOPMENT STATUS:
The OS requires some heavy sustained development effort to deliver a feature complete version. The OS has come a long way and it’s mostly stable now as reported by majority of the users.
CoverScreen OS IN ACTION:
SNAPS OF Z FLIP 3 RUNNING CoverScreen OS:
THE ORIGIN STORY:Been working on this project since the original Z Flip, but unfortunately had to suspend development due to cracked screen (that countless folding/unfolding while testing.)
The release of Z Flip 3 with a bigger cover screen was enough incentive for me to be excited about the project once again but unfortunately I again hit a bottleneck as the screen started bleeding this streak of green light right at the center and sometimes whole of second half.
Fearing a cracked screen once again, I had suspended the development yet again… but… that cute little cover screen… here we are.
NAVIGATION SYSTEM:
DOWNLOAD:After thousands of unfolding/unfolding, happy to announce that, beta version of CoverScreen OS is now available for open testing on Google Play store!
If you find CSOS meaningful for your Z Flip 3/4, please leave a review on Google Play Store!

Hi!
Working on A12?
Thanks for your work!
Excellent look forward to trying out on app on my zflp3. Does it work with one UI 4.0?
Hey guys! I am glad to report that, CoverScreen OS supports One UI 4.0!
This is pretty awesome. When you get notifications, can you actually type full replies from the cover instead of having to open or select from a few auto replies? Does dismissing notifications as dismiss from app like stock?

Absolutely, you'll be able to use Voice Keyboard to type in your replies, infact, auto-replies isn't implemented yet.
You can see it in action at 01:00:

Yeah that's voice to text, but looks like no actual just typing only yet?
This is very impressive, great work!
I definitely looking forward to the quick setting tiles. I could never understand why Samsung gave us the sound tile only.

Nice! Gonna love it!
Great news! Thanks for the hard work. Most interesting news this year
Is it mandatory to disable any lock screen to make this work?
This is great. Looking forward. Nice work and thanks for making Flip 3 even better.

You can see in the video the long press to unlock via bixby + fingerprint is being used. Same method you can use for SamSprung launcher when using a lockscreen.
Any chance you've taken a look at your preview forms? Not trying to push ya just excited to try it out
UPDATE:Thank you everyone for showing an active interest in the project, glad to let you know all that that those who have filled the forms have been sent an invite to try an early preview of the OS. Not to mention it's a work in progress, look forward to feedback.
Will soon promote to open beta testing, cheers!

Didnt get the invite/apk and i filled out the app. Would love to try this.
Also sent you a pm about contribution.
I am testing it right now and its supposed to be buggy but I am already loving it. I'll keep providing feedback here.
One main issue is that the app drawer is not scrolling. I can't open any other app other than the first two rows.
