Works great on my Nexus S.
Is there an option to quickly return to home page? Quick navigation and quick bookmark access is what keeps me using Miren, but that browser hasn't been updated in ages.

Great idea! Thanks. Will look into it.
Update
Beta 1.0.1
releasing the tab quick control will now bring up the standard window with open tabs in which you can close tabs by swiping them "away"
fixed "find on page" menu item text
It seems to work pretty well on my GN running the Revolution HD rom. The ONLY issue I see is that either the unused space in the controls need .. controls or needs to be made transparent. The shadow close to the edge of the screen where ones finger is ... is a bit ugly. But since it's a beta ... FRIGGIN awesome job!
Running great on my GN
Can I reguest a feature? Custom UA-string would be a killer feature
Edit: another feature request: custom download folder would be great also.
Works on my GSII with CM9 (4.0.3)
Sent from my Galaxy S II using XDA App
I would like to request the ability to permanently set all webpages to be non-mobile.
Works fine on HTC Desire running latest ICS 4.0.3.
Sent from HTC Desire
I've been really wanting more Quick Controls, so this is fantastic so far!
I do have a few thoughts; hopefully you'll find some of them worth doing:
1) Could you provide an option to use the volume rocker for other uses like page scrolling or tab switching?
2) A very minor point that drives me crazy is that if I select the menu option from the quick controls, the pop-up menu list always pops up on the left side of the screen -- it'd be nice if, when I use the quick controls on the right, the pop-up menu list (i.e. the option I get when pressing your "!" button) would pop up on the right so I could easily reach it with the same finger/thumb I used to activate quick controls.
3) I'd love a quick way to access notifications when full-screen browsing -- perhaps something in quick controls or the pop-up menu to pull down the notification shade -- or maybe even better, an option to launch an application from quick controls or the pop-up menu (since I could then use something like status bar expander to pull down the shade).
4) Some sort of quicker toggle for inverted screen -- I like the black background for battery savings on AMOLED screens, but it's annoying how it also inverts pictures. So, if I want to quickly see a picture displayed properly or if a page just doesn't seem to be displaying properly when inverted, it'd be nice to have a quick toggle to take me back to the normal state instead of having dive down into accessibility options.
5) I suspect this might be difficult -- but I'd like to have the option to customize the tab that gets focus after closing another tab (like in Tab Mix Plus for Firefox). Right now, I'll sometimes open 5-6 tabs in the background from a single page. I'll go to one of the pages, read it, then close tab and end up back at the original page. Then I'll have to switch tabs back to one of the other background-opened tabs and repeat the process -- taking up extra time, even if I use the tab switcher instead of using the X or back button on the quick controls. Instead it would be nice if after closing a new tab, I go directly to another of the new tabs, until all the new tabs have been closed and I'm back to the page from which I opened all the new tabs. I guess a tricky part is keeping another desirable behavior -- when opening a link from Gmail for instance, closing the linked page should still bring you back to Gmail.
6) This is probably something that requires root and even then I'm not even sure if it's possible -- but it would be super-cool if you could add extra browser buttons to the soft menu area on the Galaxy Nexus -- an option to put a frequently-used button like a refresh button or bookmark button or whatever.
Suggestion: Some way to close all tabs quickly. When I reach 16 tabs, swiping all of them closed is a pain.
Any words on why all the permissions are needed?
I'd just like to know before installing.
Nice job, I was just playing on my transformer and thinking having this would be nice.
One thing that would be a great feature would be an option to hide the Galaxy Nexus navigation buttons at the bottom. You would need to add a home button to the quick controls, so not sure exactly how hard that would be.
Small Beta 1.0.2 Update
* added option to set the User Agent String (Settings -> Advanced)
* cosmetic fixes: new icons, removed background controls (see screenshot1)
* switched the "add new tab" control and the "show tabs" control for easier access
BTW the option request desktop site is still used. Selecting this option will toggle the User Agent setting for the current tab. All pages loaded in that tab will listen to the new setting (this way one can set a tab to load mobile pages when the default user agent is set to desktop or vice versa.
Thank you all for the feedback!! I certainly will use a lot for the upcoming version. Great suggestions.
great work appelflap. thank you man!!
when i have auto rotate on and switch between portrait and landscape mode the webpage reloads. is this a bug ?
when you view a flash video (plugins on demand) in portrait mode turning to landscape mode reloads the page and you must start the video again..
Thanx for the great app, works perfectly on Galaxy Nexus.
Would it be possible to add an option, that clears cache and history automatically whenever I am closing the browser? This is something I am definitely missing on most mobile browsers.
appelflap
I use a virtual trackball app on my galaxy nexus. Is there a way to add cursor support into this browser app? Thanks.
Not working on my Galaxy S2.

Q: What's a "Half Cube"?
A: It's the idea of having the top half of the screen static and the bottom half as a cube.
Q: Why this thread?
A: Because I had another thread and the idea seemed popular. However, there are still hurdles to overcome to acheive the look and feel I and other people want. There are also various people developing new tools, and hopefullly they may see this and code something to solve some issues. I wanted to provide a thread where we could work together to overcome hurdles and acheive the coolest interface possible - money no object, but freeware apps would be nice of course.
Q: What am I ideally trying to acheive?
A: A top section with a clock and message counters, with a gesture controlled cube (left right gesture to spin between faces) at the bottom containing tabs for all the standard fare. Also, a favorite contacts plugin (gesture up/down to select contacts) and music plugin (gesture up/down to scroll through albums) for faces of the cube that are slick and intuitive.
Ideally it should also handle landscape mode well and the switch between portrait and landscape should not mess up the interface.
Mocked up interface:
THIS IS MOCKED UP IN A VIDEO EDITING PROG USING PHOTOSHOPPED IMAGES. DO NOT ASK ME WHAT APPS I USED OR HOW TO GET THIS UI - IT CAN'T BE DONE - YET.

The top clock area is SaFF in XMT.
The Calendar tab is potentially how ThumbCal will look - the author seems interested in doing a today plugin.
The contacts and music tabs are completely mocked up in an art package.
Needed:
1) Tabbed launcher with gesture controlled cube, capable of doing partial screen.
Candidates:
a) Ultimatelauncher
2) Clock / Message counts section for top.
Candidates:
a) XIAMultiTheme (XMT)
rlToday replacement which enhances features. SaFF (The top clock bit) is currently using XMT.
b) rlToday plus skin
Issue: Only one instance per screen, might be nice to use something else so we can have rlToday in the cube.
Issue: Does not handle landscape <--> Portrait switching and back very well.
c) ProjectION clock.
Issues: Clock only
d) HTC Home
Issue: Has extra tabs that are not required and take up screen real estate.
3) Music Player plugin for media section in cube. My personal preference for music player is Conduits Pocket Player as it is easy to navigate using hard buttons and thus safer to use in the car.
Candidates:
a) V2R music player plugin (Controls WMP)
Issue: Gesture left/right used to navigate albums and the cube "captures" that.
Solution: Author modifies plugin to allow scrolling via up/down gesture.
b) Conduits Pocket Player
No plugin today, but the browser in the main program is just like I want. Conduits say they will be revamping the today plugin soon, so hopefully it will be like this.
4) App Launcher.
Something to launch apps from a page inside the cube.
Candidates:
a) Ultimatelauncher - has a nice system for doing this, so no worries.
b) SPB Pocket Plus - My previous preferred launcher.
Issue: As you can drag things around, gestures do not work in the SPB Launcher. Locking icons does not solve this.
5) Quick / Favorite contacts
The one from HTC home is OK, but comes with too much extra junk around it.
Candidates:
a) V2R Photo Dialler 2
Issue: Gesture left/right used to navigate contacts and the cube "captures" that.
Solution: Author modifies plugin to allow scrolling via up/down gesture.
b) Ultimatelauncher adds this feature.
c) HTC Home
Issue: Has extra tabs and clock that are not required and take up screen real estate.
6) Weather plugin
Must support non-US places
Candidates:
a) SPB Weather. Not free.
7) Portrait / Landscape switching
Issue: Switching from portrait to landscape causes the clock to be left justified, not centred, and is still only 240 wide not 320.
Solution: This appears to be an artifact of rlToday, it does not happen if you use HTC Home or ProjectION
Issue: Switching from landscape to portrait causes a scroll bar to be drawn on the right. Even when this disappears (if you scroll the bar down to the bottom), it has already chopped off the right edge of the clock rltoday box, which does not automatically redraw.
Solution: This appears to be to do with rlToday, as if you use HTChome or ProjectION for the clock, this does not happen.
[Update - I found a reg key to make today plugins "Always on top" - you then get no scroll bars ever appear for that plugin]
[Added picture of new 90px high format, 32x32 icons are just placeholders for now...]
[11/03/08 - Updated info regarding reg key to make always on top]
[11/03/08 - I have now worked out rlToday landscape / portrait switching and will be doing a landscape version and providing code to auto switch between the two]
[11/03/08 - New 90px size and layout - picture added - just placeholder icons for now still]
Battery Status
I was messing around with battery status and came up with something interesting. The only problem is, I can't get it to handle landscape.
For your quick contacts requirement try Spb Phone Suite. It's the closest I have been able to get to the HTC Home contact screen. It also has call blocking features (which I was looking for) and ringer profiles (I never use).
As for the weather plugin, the only one I have been able to find is Spb. I've been searching for other weather plugins for the last couple weeks and found nothing worth using.
I checked with Ikarus concerning the issue with switching to landscape mode and he said he will look into it.
Update:
XIAMultiTheme (XMT) is now going to be used for one or more of the components. Certainly the top clock area.
The current version of SaFF for XMT is attached. Requires mortscript (for the beep when clicking a button) and VJVolubilis (To toggle bluetooth) to be installed in default directories.
Icons still placeholders, but it looks the same (except font layout which is borked as current version of XMT does not centre fonts properly) except for numbers on the SMS / Mail counters which are now outlined!
New animated GIF in the first post.
Mockup of what I want the UI to vaguely look like.
Ever wanted an app which you can run which just takes you to your home screen?
Have you broken your home button, and now to get to your home screen, you have to press back continuously?
No longer will you desire such an app - It is here for you!
An app so simple that it doesn't need options.
Just run it and it takes you to your home screen.
----
Note: On the first run of the app, a blank screen may appear for a short time before it redirects. Do not worry this is normal behavior! Every run after that, it will redirect to your home screen.

And how exactly do you launch the app when you can't get to your app drawer except from your home screen? Kind of stupid, if you ask me. You should make it so that it keeps a persistent notification that takes you home when selected, because the notification bar is everywhere, the app drawer button is not.

I use the app called switchpad to put it as a menu attached to one edge of my screen.
I am just a beginner developer so I will attempt to include the persistent notification feature in my next release.

It's a fantastic idea, but I'm not familiar with switchpad. It's a great start, but I think the most mainstream usage of it would be the persistent notification.
I didn't mean to come off as sharp, I know developing takes time and effort, so keep at it
Thanks
I'm currently working on the persistent notification, and have added it. Im just double checking everything works properly before release...
The release after this will have an option as to enable it or not haha.
John
You can also use an app called LaunchKey that attaches to the long press of your search button. This may help for those with just a broken home button.
I am not familiar with the app from above, but WaveLauncher would work as well. It allows gestures from the area of the screen you define (similar to the swipe up on the Palm Pre). It also has a nifty feature that if you press and hold for a user defined time on the gesture area, it will launch its own app drawer from within any application.
Great job on this simple but useful app! Keep it up! I know a few people with broken buttons that may benefit from this.
I use an app called zMooth which replaces the Menu, Home and Back buttons with swipe gestures that you make at the bottom of the screen.
Here is a video of it running on my Droid X, the video is a little choppy but it gives you an idea of how it works.

I prefer it this way because I use wavelauncher and I don't need another app running in background
Launcher pro short cut can also do this
I too use swipe pad a must for big screen like sgs2,n I too felt the need for a way to trigger home,i googled but cudnt find any thing but just few days ago I tried to put launcher pro as short cut on the swipe pad n it did the trick ,wht am I now missing is a way to to show recent app ,as u normally get by holding ur home button any one knows the way to it,
And how is this different from using Home Manager to create a shortcut to your home screen to use with SwipePad? Home Manager simply allows me to do all what your app can do and even more, like switching between launchers and shortcut on the notification bar

will test this when i get home
but thinking something like this would be helpful when playing videos full screen - right and left for fast foreward/rewind, up/down for volume up and down, diagonal for brightness
another thought is for first person shooter games
and finally a gesture to toggle it on and standby

Thanks. I developed on 7.7 stock and tested on friends 10.1 stock, but I hope to get my hands on 10.1 for longer time (maybe next week) and try different firmwares.
CM9 not available for 7.7 unfortunately. But good to know that gestures are registered on ICS, so I think I can make it fully functional.

Same issue for me with AOKP, gesture text shows up but nothing happens.. I think there is great potential with this, your work is much appreciated!
Really nice. But like the other, it shows the gesture, but nothing happens (CM9)
Would be awesome, like an iPad, 4 fingers swipe to change between recent apps

Changed gestures to multitouch, fixed bug that might prevent actions from execution (after gesture is detected and message shown).
However ICS still not supported (don't have device yet).

I would like to have the option of having the icon display in the status bar. This could be a paid only option but it would be nice for people like me who just want it to run in the background.

As name said, Just Browser. I want to create an app that doesn't log users visited websites, bookmarks and other information. There is no trashy and suspicious things in it. You are %100 safe to use it. I can assure you this app will not steal/sell/show any advertisement. I thought I can sell a "PRO" license key to monetization, that includes a few extra small features.
I've spent a few hundred hours and packed a lot of feature, try to make it's size small as possible.
It's size only 473 KB. Not even 500 KB!

Wow dude, the browser seems so cool. It's so simple, which I like very much. That the bar is below is very practical.
You mentioned in the list about the night mode, which I failed to find. Also, I don't want to be grammar nazi but as far as I know it should be "find on page", not in page.
And a suggestion is coming. I personally prefer tab button to be in the front panel, instead of mic button.
Edit: I can add bookmarks, but I can't find the bookmark list.
Nice job man! Prety good browser

I added change log for version 1.1.
Nice browser, mate! Really like the speed dials and overall look. What I can't seem to get working is location, for example when I search for fitness centers, it usually shows me the ones close to me / my location. I can't get this to work with your browser, any idea why?
# Add option to set particular view options for different sites .
I'm mean , I'm always using fb in desktop view and other sites in mobile view.
But every time I need to switch between view for different sites. So there an option need to set particular site a particular view. (Naked browser has that option u can check it for reference)
# Add Exit button to the app.
# Add option to clear cache, cookies, browser history etc.
# Add light color loading bar. (For knowing that the page is loading)
# Add an option that ask to save password. (Now it is automatically saving password without asking)
All these items except loading bar can be added to list 'Menu'.
+1 soon coming if u done this request.
And about the app. This is the 1st browser i saw with cool nice simple smoothly interface with outstanding performance. Keep it up

Thanks for accepting my ideas.
I have 2 suggestion for exit button positioning.
You can add it to the 'Menu' list below 'find in page' option.
Or can be added near to the microphone button.
If u have any other better idea for that positioning then go for it
Gonna keep an eye on this. Any screenshots of the dark mode?

Nevermind, after a reboot it's working better with the location, for example shops can be found close to me, but my exact location can't be found when I go to Google homepage. No idea why it doesn't work, as other browsers can find my exact location right away.
One thing I'd love to see would be opening sites not in overview, but zoomed in, so it's readable right away. Not many browsers have this feature, but I personally prefer it.

Thanks. I tried it but the dark mode isn't for me. It's too hard to see if brightness is below 50%
Uploaded to the newest version, all seems to be fine. But, for example, when I click on a twitter link, it directs me to the webpage version. Some browsers offer to open it within the app. You might consider adding this feature. Also buy pro licence button doesn't seem to be working.
I cannot see the site content but in other browsers it's OK.
I like your browser I hope you will improve it more.its small simple and light weight and placement of url bar is great.
Because of this i use yandex.
Some requests can you remove Adblock count indicator from main page and can you add option to add a site to speed dail when site is already open.i have to open the new tab for adding to speed dail.
Many thanks for your work
Update: Version Alpha 1.2 is now up on Google Play Store as well as in the attachments!

Hello XDA community!
This is my newest (and smallest) App, at 75.4 KB, Volume Scroll lets you scroll through pages on almost any App using your Volume Rocker. And yes, you read the title of the thread right, it requires NO root permission.
Once activated, scroll a tiny bit of the content you want to be scrolled using Volume Rocker. Pressing either of the volume keys will make a paginated scrolling (jumps to new content, flips a page - however you may like to understand.)
This will feel very natural and immersive, especially when you want to consume a really long article on Google Chrome or an endless feed of Facebook, Instagram and many more applications.
What happens to adjusting volume? Well, a long press on either of the Volume keys will activate the default behavior (bringing volume control panel on screen.) Neat?
In addition to scrolling through Volume Rocker, there is an optional onscreen buttons as well. The onscreen buttons will appear when there is a scrollable content available on screen, and if no action is taken on the button, they fade within 2 seconds - and appear back, if you manually scroll some content.
So far, the App works on all popular chatting Apps, Social Media Apps, GMail, Google Chrome, etc. However, don't be surprised if it doesn't work on your pdfs or some 3rd party browsers - that will be due to technical limitation.
Below is a demo of the onscreen buttons, if somebody can make a short demo video of the Volume Rockers in action, it would be great! Also note that, the below demo features auto scrolling which is NOT included in this initial alpha version.
The Alpha_1 version is available at the attachments, Play Store and XDA Labs. This version of the App is Ad-free, there will be a lot of more features in future depending on how the App is received, like:
✓ Auto Scrolling pages with onscreen buttons as well as Volume Rocker
✓ Configure time gap for auto scrolling.
✓ Ability to move around onscreen buttons
✓ Configure how you want Volume Rocker to behave - Single press, long press, double press.
✓ Blacklist/Whitelist Apps on which the App should function.
Mention which feature you look forward to, in your review of the App.
Download now from Google Play Store!
The main purpose of this early release to the community members here is to get some feedback. So, if you try the App, please do let me know your experience, suggestions. Cheers!
Note: The App uses Accessibility permissions - that are an absolute requirement for the magical linking between your Volume Rocker and scrolling. If you don't feel comfortable with the permissions please do not use the App. That being said, I have a couple of other Apps developed which are downloaded and trusted by couple of 100,000+ users (point in case - Energy Bar), none of the Apps have any hidden motive.

What's new?
Version Alpha_1.2:
HOTFIX for screen turning off - when you use only volume keys for scrolling, the device was assumed to be idle - it's now fixed.

Is there any way to move the on screen control to the right of the screen?
It's a very cool idea but I really think that paginated scrolling isn't the best implementation, it would be better if I could choose to set single press to activate volume controls, but a long press would scroll a page smoothly similar to a mouse wheel. This would've been awesome, unless there is an unavoidable limitation to doing that.
Also if you could add a blacklist, for those apps you don't want this feature to work in.

Hi! A smooth scroll isn't possible due to technical limitation. Volume Rocker behavior configuration, whitelist/blacklist options will be available soon.
Alpha_1.2 is now up on Google Play Store as well as at the attachments to the first post.
Its not working in Opera Mini browser. I don't think it can be made to work in it? And yes a blacklist or per-app setting will be much appreciated.
I often have to swipe the screen up and down quite often to get the app to respond. Maybe activating the volume button scrolling option by holding down the buttons could be a better solution? Then we also don't have to always long click the buttons to change the volume or to use the Gboard key cursor control.
Damn, I was really hoping that this would work but I've been unable to get the volume scroll or on-screen scroll to work on a Yotaphone 2 (android 5.0). The device has an epaper screen and smooth scroll is just not suited to this type of screen.
Hi there, do you continue your work with this app? I have a oneplus 3 with oreo. Can not get your app to work. But I am looking for this feature. Your description sounds very good. Please continue developing
