If someone can give me step by step instructions would be very grateful. Im on latest cyanogen mod for samsung s3 4.4.4 kit kat
Hi,
You flash your rom from custom recovery, then flash the gapps immediately after also from custom recovery. So you just need to download the rom, and gapps on your phone. Simple as that. They should both end up in the same place on your internal storage.
If you need further help or have any questions about your device, here is where to ask for help,
> Samsung Galaxy S III I9300, I9305 > Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [HELP THREAD] Galaxy S3 Ask any question
Good luck!
But I just need to get gapps back on my phone I'm already on cyanogen but I had the play store error insuffiencient error so I uninstalled gapps and want to get it back I need step by step instructions thanks
Then ask in the thread I linked. ?

And again, download gapps on your device, and flash them from custom recovery. That's all there is to it. No other steps to list.
I downloaded it went into recovery but can't find the file for gapps
Then you need to find out the folder it downloaded to.
Again, we are here to help navigate the site, not for support. Use the link I provided to ask for further help.
Thank you for understanding, thread closed.

Hi, sorry I didn't post this in development...but I don't have enough posts to do so.
Anyway, I came from an iphone, and just got a galaxy s3, and I want to run CM 10.
After using this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2332825),
How would I be able to run CM 10?
Thanks guys!
This is a question so you don't post this in development you post this in the Q& A section.

He meant make a post in the development thread. Not create a thread.

And just to answer your question there are stickies in the development section that help you with all your flashing needs. The only thing different from flashing a TW ROM than an AOSP ROM is that you need to flash the Gapps. But basically you need a custom recovery, after that download the ROM and Gapps and place them on your SD card. Not sure if the one click unlocks the bootloader (too lazy to check) but if it doesn't you need to unlock your bootloader. Once all that is done you boot into recovery, make a backup, wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format system (OPTIONAL but RECOMMENDED), then install ROM, install Gapps, then reboot and you should be good to go.
Please note this is very basic guide and I don't go into much detail. So if you're confused check the stickies. I actually HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking them anyway. Lots of good stuff.

try using their website. it has all the information on there. if you want some of the unofficial builds you can pull one out of one the deverlopment thread sections. i hope you know how to flash a rom if not they got directions for that under the general support section or you can read through the threads on here. Beans is amazing for modifying the casual root method but i liked it so much better when odin was involved. there was just enough steps to keep people away from trying because they was afraid they would brick the phone.

I would recommend an app like goomanager where you can flash cm and gapps all at once and it appears to also give you the options to wipe before you install which is very handy and you can do it from the app which is great for beginners.

any tips on why every ROM I install crashes after boot or won't install at all? I've tried CWM and TWRP with Cyanogenmod, aopk, MIUI.
Hi!
I see you've already asked in the general Android forum. But you'd be better served asking in your devices section, found here...
> HTC One > One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Just be sure tho that you've followed the flashing instructions exactly. Sound like you're missing a step perhaps.
Good luck!
yeah
all ROMs are a zip file with three sub folders and a boot.img, right? i've tried so many, i fgure there must be a partition that's not getting wiped or something.
Again, you need to ask in the correct forum as linked above.
XDA Assist is here to point you in the right direction, but not for support.
Ask in the thread I linked and someone should be able to help, that knows your device best.

Also....be very descriptive in your post....list any errors or what happens exactly. Will speed up the troubleshooting. ?

In the thread created by saranhai it is stated that
YOU MUST FLASH THE T999UVUEMJ4 MODEM, T999UVUEMJC MODEM OR THE T999UVUENC2 MODEM FOR T-MOBILE GALAXY S III IN ORDER FOR DATA TO WORK; OTHERWISE YOU WILL NOT HAVE DATA
ALSO, IF YOU OWN A SGH-T999V AND HAVE UPDATED TO ANDROID 4.4.2 (VLFNF1), YOU CAN ONLY USE THE 4.4.2 MODEM!
AS USUAL, I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR DEVICE! ONE WRONG MOVE (Especially with the Modem) AND YOU COULD END UP WITH A VERY EXPENSIVE BRICK. PROCEED AT OWN RISK.
When you scroll down on the website you will find that there are 4 links to 4 things labeled
"
-StockMOD Custom ROM-
A ROM aimed at giving you the core features of TouchWiz, and much more!
-StockMOD ROM-
Completely based on Stock ROM, little to no changes.
-Community Section-
A place for all of the previously uploaded ROMs, the Mods Center, and Signature Banners!
-F.A.Q-
Answers to (Hopefully) all your questions
"
After clicking on "-StockMOD Custom ROM- A ROM aimed at giving you the core features of TouchWiz, and much more! " you will find that it will give you a link to the required modem. Unfortunately, when I click on "-StockMOD ROM- Completely based on Stock ROM, little to no changes. " it says under "prerequisites" that I need the T999UVUEMJC Modem but with no link given. I am having trouble finding this modem. In addition, I tried searching up T999UVUEMJC Modem on google in hope for finding the actual download, but I was not able to find anything (im unsure about some of the downloads)
Link for the thread

(THIS IS NOT THE LINK FOR THE MODEM IM LOOKING FOR. IT IS ONLY THE LINK TO THE THREAD I WAS REFERRING TO)
Hi,
Sorry for the late reply!
You can ask in the rom thread you linked in your second post. Because you have not reached 10 constructive posts yet, it will automatically post your question in your devices Q&A section. ?
If that doesn't help you, you can ask for help here,
> Samsung Galaxy S III I9300, I9305 > Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [HELP THREAD] Galaxy S3 Ask any question.
Good luck!

Hello, today I rooted my verizon lg g3. After the fact I decided to install a custom rom. This rom was the most popular and best reviewed one I could find(aka sphinx g3). I installed twrp recovery aswell as made a backup rom. I continued the process and installed the rom. after the fact fact it told me to reboot. I did, and now it is stuck on a black screen while blinking red and blue notification lights. I went to recovery and somehow my backup rom was deleted. Help please, Im having a mini freak out at the moment
Hi,
That is strange your backup disappeared. The best thing you can do is ask in the rom thread for help, or post here in your devices Q&A section...
> Verizon LG G3 > Verizon G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
---------- Post added at 08:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:57 PM ----------
Also, are you sure your model number is supported? It's not a rom in the Verizon section. It may not be compatible with your model.
Ask for help where I pointed you. You may need to flash stock again. Hopefully that fixes you up.
