I have a NX008HD8G(manufactured after august 2013), with Stock recovery(android recovery 3e)
I edited the build.prop to change "codename" from "REL" to "L". I need to change this back, since it gets stuck on the final bootanimation(bootanimation.zip)!!! I need to access ADB or terminal or change build.prop from the stock recovery!!! How do i do this? Or can someone give me a stock rom I can sideload?
P.S - ADB does not detect my device when in recovery
I'm new, so move this thread if needed!
Hi there,
I found a guide on changing build.prop, including pulling it with adb, editing it and putting it back.
So you need to sort your driver issue out on the PC and get out to see your device first, otherwise you will have trouble....even trying to restore stock if editing fails.
>*Samsung Epic 4G*>*Epic 4G General*>*Editing build.prop tutorial
Keep in mind this is a different devices thread....so do not install or flash anything you find here. But the ADB method should be the same.
Good luck!

As far as stock firmware....I can find nothing on XDA about it. You could ask here about that, or anything else...including issues with build.prop.

I need to access build.prop while in recovery.... and I installed both the Google USB drivers and Universal ADB drivers...
Well, you may need to track down your factory image....but...if you can't get your computer to see your phone, you may have a problem.
Try another computer and set up the drivers. Or try another USB port on yours. And try another cable.
You won't fix it from recovery.
All that said, please see the purpose of XDA Assist...
>*General discussion*>*XDA Assist*>*The Purpose of XDA Assist [Please Read]
We don't do support here....just directions to threads and sections. I've shown you the General Q&A section above, and in your previous XDA Assist thread. There's no section for your device, so that's where you can ask all future questions.
Good luck!
Hi to all
I have a Samsung galaxy s6102 and some weeks ego I entered a code (*#*#2663#*#*) which supposed to update touch firmware but it failed and touch screen never worked again.
I couldn't repair my phone even by flashing ROM an kernal. I tried method mentioned in this topic but I discovered that screencast does not work on my phone, hence I used ADB shell commands to enter the code (*#*#2663#*#*).
unfortunately just after entering the code this error message pops up: "The application com.sec.android.app.lcdtest (process com.sec.android.app.lcdtest) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
I retried with different ROMs and got the same error.
I am wondering how should I erase touch firmware and flash new one and why flashing ROM and kernel do not replace this firmware?
It would be very appreciated if anyone suggest another solution for my case.
Hi,
You'd be best served asking for help in your device section... This section covers your device model as well, just specify your model when asking for help and only flash files made for your specific model number, no other kinds...
> Legacy & Low Activity Devices > Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 > Galaxy Y GT-S5360 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
---------- Post added at 09:14 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:11 AM ----------
Also, that link you posted is for another device. Again, only follow instructions and flash files made for your device. No other devices. Unless a reputable source suggests you can. ?
Thanks

Hello, today I rooted my verizon lg g3. After the fact I decided to install a custom rom. This rom was the most popular and best reviewed one I could find(aka sphinx g3). I installed twrp recovery aswell as made a backup rom. I continued the process and installed the rom. after the fact fact it told me to reboot. I did, and now it is stuck on a black screen while blinking red and blue notification lights. I went to recovery and somehow my backup rom was deleted. Help please, Im having a mini freak out at the moment
Hi,
That is strange your backup disappeared. The best thing you can do is ask in the rom thread for help, or post here in your devices Q&A section...
> Verizon LG G3 > Verizon G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
---------- Post added at 08:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:57 PM ----------
Also, are you sure your model number is supported? It's not a rom in the Verizon section. It may not be compatible with your model.
Ask for help where I pointed you. You may need to flash stock again. Hopefully that fixes you up.
Thank you. Thread closed.
I messed up with my tablet and has got into bootloop. How to solve this issue please help me!
Hi,
There's no section for your device on XDA, so you will need to ask for help here. Please be far more specific when you post your new thread. Details of exactly what you did, what's on your tablet, and if it's rooted or unlocked... Etc. Help will be quicker the more details you provide...

I Do posted a new thread on the forum you have asked me to do so what i have to do next???
All you can do is wait. Or try googling your issue. Perhaps you can find something to help out there.
Unfortunately with less popular and/or older devices... It can be harder to find help, as far fewer people use them.... Compared to the big name devices.
Again, be patient and good luck.

So i unistalled all the google apps and downloaded the gapps of the cyanogen wiki, i doenloaded it but it says in the instructions you need to move thr gapps package into your sd card how do i do that? If someone can give me step by step instructions would be very grateful. Im on latest cyanogen mod for samsung s3 4.4.4 kit kat
Hi,
You flash your rom from custom recovery, then flash the gapps immediately after also from custom recovery. So you just need to download the rom, and gapps on your phone. Simple as that. They should both end up in the same place on your internal storage.
If you need further help or have any questions about your device, here is where to ask for help,
> Samsung Galaxy S III I9300, I9305 > Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [HELP THREAD] Galaxy S3 Ask any question
Good luck!
But I just need to get gapps back on my phone I'm already on cyanogen but I had the play store error insuffiencient error so I uninstalled gapps and want to get it back I need step by step instructions thanks
Then ask in the thread I linked. ?
---------- Post added at 04:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:12 PM ----------
And again, download gapps on your device, and flash them from custom recovery. That's all there is to it. No other steps to list.
I downloaded it went into recovery but can't find the file for gapps
Then you need to find out the folder it downloaded to.
Again, we are here to help navigate the site, not for support. Use the link I provided to ask for further help.
Thank you for understanding, thread closed.
