[Q] AppOps on 5.0? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there an AppOps for 5.0? (Can there be an AppOps for 5.0?)
edit: And the answer, thanks to cmhjr, is: App Ops by Lars Team

If I'm not mistaken, there a few Roms out there with AppOps already built-in on them.

I'll check out the ROMS, but though my N5 is rooted, I would really prefer it to run the stock ROM for a little while, at least until 5.x settles down (enough gremlins to keep track of without adding a new ROM to the mix). I don't know enough about how AppOps works to know if the only way under 5.x is via a custom ROM; I seem to recall being able to keep the stock ROM under 4.x.x with a working AppOps.

I found App Ops by Lars Team works well

:victory: YES!!! :victory:
It works.
My N5 and N10 (and I) thank you.

anyone tried these apps??

[Q] Help finding a rom that comes with pdroid

Hello, I just rooted my Samsung galaxy note 10.1 gt-8013 running jelly bean. for the first time a few days ago. It was the first time I rooted anything. The reason I wanted to root it was pdroid. I have installed 3 or 4 different roms on it trying to get pdroid to work on them with no luck. I have also used the auto patcher like it says to. The tablet says it's installed, and have ran the auto patcher multiple times on each rom. When I look for it in the market it still won't show up. So I'm starting to get a little frustrated because I'm not sure if I'm just not using the auto patcher correctly or if it's just does not work on my table. If anyone knows of a rom that comes with pdroid with it. Or if anyone can point me to a rom and has the patch for pdroid. Any help would be appreciated.

I too hope a dev will one day integrate pdroid, on a multiwindow capable rom, until cm integrates this feature, i guess that means stock roms for now.......either integrate, or build their rom in such a way that is compatible with a pdroid patch .
Over on the official thread, looks like the dev has added stock compatibility, but i suspect its for specific stock roms, could be wrong

I think it was for very specific devices, if i got the gist of it right, i think a dev needs to implement it into a rom specifically for our note 10's
yes,but i've no knowlegde at all for doing this. i was hoping you found something.

I found out something similar to pdroid... it's called XPrivacy and runs on top of the Xposed framework. it needs root but it's pretty straight foward to install and use. it also works for pratically any rom including stock.
you can find the installation/user guide on github https://github.com/M66B/XPrivacy
I'm not 100% sure but there's an article on this on android police. it works like a charm for me (jb 4.1.2 on stock)
hope you find it usefull like i did!!

4buttons and long press for 5.0?

Hello all,
I tested 5.0 for our awesome Opo, but have to go back to Heisenberg because no one have the aokp navbar options...
Somebody have an idea if a 5.0 version will have this features?
Or one solution via xposed or other for having this?
I need 4 buttons : back, home, search, menu and longpress actions too.
Thanks a lot
Well you can't use Xposed on 5.0 because 5.0 uses the ART runtime, which Xposed is not compatible with. But anyway, you're getting a bit ahead of yourself here, the Lollipop ROMs are still very early builds, allow the devs time to get it 100% stable before even thinking of making such feature requests.

I never ask to make it immediately.... I just asked if someone work on it, or someone have a solution... Nothing more...
And some for xposed.... Some 5.0 ROM have it already installed...

Ok, but like I said, their job now is to get everything running properly first, then come the extra features.
Xposed isn't compatible with ART, so I don't see how it's possible to be used on a Lollipop ROM, do you have links please?

best or most prefered rom nowdays?

Hey im still running Android 4.4.2 CleanRom and its been a while since ive been around. I feel a bit outdate and was wondering what i should upgrade to. Not looking to do nightly's as i do not have the time, just looking for something new and stable. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Hi, here on xda we dont compare roms, sorry. its just taboo of the worst kind. Also please post questions in the question and answers portion of the forum, thanks and cheers.
I'll go ahead and reply with respect to the split between KitKat and Lollipop. You'll note a bunch of Lollipop-based ROMs appearing. Some have chosen to flash those, to be on the cutting edge. However, the Xposed Framework - one of the most useful customization tooks in the Android world - has not been updated to work with the "ART" (Android Run Time) and instead is only still compatible with Dalvik-based system. The developer of Xposed has indicated that he may work on updating XPosed at some point, but there is no firm commitment or timeline.
I personally will not be upgrading to Lollipop as I find that the tweaks made available by the Xposed Framework and the plethora of modules built for it, are simply too important me to lose by upgrading to what isn't all that radically different of an Android update.
But to each his own. Thought I'd give you a bit of the background.
P.S. Anything by Santod is quality work (NuSenseSix, UnSenseSix, etc). He really knows Android.
Nothing beats stock as far as stability. For newest, well, the newest official software is stock as well until VZW releases Lollipop.
Sacred cows make extra tasty steaks. That said, I'll make recommendations. I think Fluent is as reliable as the stock 4.4.4 and more so than some of the more radically tweaked 4.4.4 ROMs out there built from non-Verizon sources. NuSense is solid as well, but hasn't been updated in a while, is minimally modified, and is based on the oldest of the lollipop releases. if 4.4.4 is all you want, Clean ROM 3.0 was a solid runner for me.
If you can do your own mods then I would go with Lollipop as you don't need xposed if your looking for stable stick to 4.4.4 for now.. Make sure you upgrade your firmware before if you haven't as you r still on 4.4.2 ROM I'm taking a guess your haven't updated firmware.

What do you mean by doing your own mods? Short of coding them, I'm not sure how one would go about getting Samsung Milk to work, or cleaning up the Notification menu, or a bunch of other things that just aren't commonly built into customized ROMs. If you do know of a way to get such things working in Lollipop, do let me know - I'd then be able to make the switch!

[Q/A] Anyone have any suggestions for ROMs/OS's that work on the G925P/G920P?

Hey guys, I've been searching around for a rom that is compatible with the Sprint variants of the G920/G925. I've been having lots.. and I mean LOTS of trouble finding a rom that works with my phone (I have a G925P). An answer to this would really help me out ^^
I do have a list of what I want in roms as well, I'm looking for the following:
Rom is running Android 6.0.1 and beyond
Currently being maintained
Debloated and De-Knoxed
Compressed Size
Have apps like Android Pay to work (Apps using SafetyNet)
Has option to keep stock kernel for Magisk and Systemless Xposed
Multi-user Support
Battery Friendly
Allows for lockscreen customization/custom lock apps
And there you go, that's mainly what I'm looking for. Now, if it's an entire OS like LineageOS, I'm willing to try it but, it must fall within the lines of what I'm looking for (or as close as possible). Any answer would be acceptable IF it runs on my phone without any problems (basically, just throw out any answer you have).
Also, here is a list of ROMs I have already tried/searched:
Renegade v7 (No longer being maintained but I am currently using it)
LineageOS (Someone else confirmed that the kernel isn't compatiable with the G920P/G925P)
Mostly Stock for Samsung S6 Edge (I actually plan on trying this one again, as it is debloated and looks more like the stock so I can use more Xposed Modules)
CarRom HD (This bricked my phone after flashing the kernel, data didn't work when I had gotten it to work BEFORE I bricked it)
Alexis ROM (Doesn't work with Sprint variants)
I'm currently using Big Daddy PL3 Aroma V1.x which works great. I haven't been able to get magisk to work as of yet, but everything else is great.

Most simpl, trimmed down rom

Hi, i am looking for most trimmed down rom. It just needs to run Phonograph music player (any rom between 4.4.x and 7.x.x) and Viper4android
I wont use gapps or anything, it will be used in multirom for long trips to listen to musi
I would like to get best possible battery life from it
if anyone has some suggestions please reply
thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:
Something like AOSP 4.4'll be fine I think, you need to search for older AOSP (not stock images) releases
I used https://forum.xda-developers.com/go...m-stock-purewhitepreviewl-07-08-2014-t2840901 for quite a while. Pretty slimmed down.
You could just use android kitchen and pull off anything you don't want from a stock rom.
